If anyone knows why GM ultimately axed the Holden-based Regal, I'd love to hear it...
  4. Take "in the grand scheme of things" with "what my friends will think of me"

This was to be built off of the Holden platform. Look at the beltline and overall proportions...this is a Commodore for Buick. EXCEPT for one little thing... The XP2000 was to have been the RWD 1997 Regal. Due to something I am not aware of within GM, this was nixed at the last minute (prolly an issue with exchange rates or unions or something) and the Regal as we know it was rushed from the PLANNED W-body Century. Hence, Buick gets two cars with very little differentiation.
  6. As an American, I disagree wholehartedly. I feel a nationalized healthcare system lessens personal responsibility. If you aren't paying your own healthcare, then why take care of yourself if the government will just flip the bill? That's bull$h!. America already has an obesity epidemic, and all the "healthcare costs of being obese" argument is null and void with a national system. Also, a national system would pave the way for taking away personal freedoms...government could leverage the whole "it doesn't want to pay for smokers health issues" so it bans smoking. Right now, you alone are responsible for the choices you make. Yes, accidents happen, but the majority of health problems are preventable. Also, look at Britain. Their national health system is awful. 6-12 months for a mammogram. That's just fantastic...you're dead by the time you get one!
  7. I don't want Mitsu to go under...so I hope this is a good product. So far, it has good styling, and as said before, it should be good to go if it is a competitive package. BTW--saw a Lancer wagon yesterday...
  8. I like the way you think...but is it capable of 2+2? What platform? Styling looks like it could be easily converted into a SAAB with AeroX cues.
  9. No, they are disabling the airbag from shutting OFF ever. So it's just 100% unsafe to put a child in the front seat.
  10. I will refer to you however I please. I also find it highly ironic that you, Bill, are taking issue with my participation in this dispute since you seem to have no problem chiming in whenever you see fit. :AH-HA_wink: -------------------- So, OC...I gotta ask...any reason you won't wait one more model year? i see you as one of those first-on-the-block kinda guys...if I were you I'd wait for the newer, better, more impressive model. And if you don't like it as much, there will still be plenty of the 1st gens on lots to buy.
  11. Seriously? Don't count on it. This is Bill, afterall...ETA: So, OC...what do you like about the car?
  12. Madonna is actually semi-famous for not having work done. Remember, she's all into that Kaballah stuff and is very "natural" about things. I don't think she's plastic.
  13. Guys...I have a feeling this might be sent to Europe as well as sold in NA. This vehicle is to help GM pay off its sunk costs...and I have a feeling that if Pontiac Saturn and SAAB can sell a vehicle in the US, Opel and SAAB can sell theirs in Europe, especially given SAAB's greater presence overseas.
  14. Me too. Chrysler always has had major issues with branding. Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Eagle all have sold essentially the same vehicles with virtually no differentiation. Is Dodge sporty or basic? Is Chrysler a Chevy and Ford competitor, or is it near-lux? What the hell is Plymouth? Is Eagle sporty or quirky? At least Jeep has been fairly consistent. Now that Chrysler Corp. has been integrated within DCX, DCX needs to straighten out its branding, Stat!
  15. Meh, Madonna is still a force to be reckoned with. Even her biggest commercial flops (American Life) are still leagues more successful than many token artists' greatest successes. Plus, her early stuff is catchy as all hell. Did I mention she's still pretty hot?
  16. Gibson is right up there with Kathy Griffin as the ultimate fag hags from what I've gathered. I know she's single...and prolly always will be.I dunno if I wanna see her in concert anymore...she prolly won't perform the older songs that I like. I hate most of her hits now...the singles on Out Of The Blue piss me off...the B-Sides on that album are much better than the As IMO. Between the Lines would prolly have been a hit today with a more R&B production to it...Fallen Angel would be a #1 hit if redone today. Play the Field is awesome...duh L Martinee did the drum programming for it. Wake Up To Love is another song that should've been a hit. Electric Youth is a waste. Over the Wall is the best track on there IMO, though No More Rhyme is pretty good too. Lost In Your Eyes is too blase for me, as well as We Could Be Together. Anything Is Possible has three good tracks IMO: Another Brick Falls, Anything Is Possible, and Reverse Psychology. Body Mind Soul has a few good ones too, especially Losin' Myself. That song rocks and is dying for a remake. Think With Your Heart is a solid album, and her cover of "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" beats the pants off the original. Debbie's "In The Still of the Night" cover off the Wonder Years soundtrack is another good track. Deborah has a few good ones, but it's just kinda schmultzy overall. Nothing "good." The 1998 Only In My Dreams as well as the techno version of Only Words are both good. MYOB is alright...nothing great. and I know in concert, she will focus on all of her recent stuff, with all the hits from the 80s/early 90s...which are NOT my favorite tracks.
  17. Um...that's my giving him $h!? I'm gonna start calling you NetNanny...
  18. The one good thing I will say about my M-Class is that I have at least learned the lesson to never buy a Mercedes. It's great when they're free, but those things are a POS.
  19. No, 1998 Intrigue.
  20. If this weren't the therapy thread, I'd be giving you so much $h! for that line. :AH-HA_wink: Read it again, you know it sounds kinda funny!
  21. Debbie is hot. Do not be ashamed. Her production is some of the cheesiest though.Check out the Shock Your Mama video on YouTube...that is some funny $h!... --- I like 80s pop. There, I said it. And not just ANY 80s pop...it's all about the Extended Club Remixes. Tiffany, Madonna, Cover Girls, Expose, Sheila E., etc...all that makes me high. I love a good power ballad too...Whitesnake, anyone? That song and that video rock my world. Spice Girls were fun...and Geri Halliwell has some amazing solo work. She's at her best doing the old time glam kinda stuff...I hope she does a cover of Ella Fitzgerald's "At Last" as that would be an amazing rendition of that song. I didn't like the Boy Bands...they pissed me off. I like screamo. There, I said it. Emo kids piss me off, but the music is amazing. I love Eddie Money, especially the duet with Ronnie Spector. I am also very partial to the old Motown Sound. The Supremes are pretty good.
  22. How do their shakes compare to Steak 'n Shake? That place is the gem of the midwest.
  23. Use bug and tar remover. Works well for window paint as well.
  24. What Enneagram type did you get? My thing about the Enneagram is that it is startlingly accurate. I've used it so many damn times to get to know people better than they know themselves. If you haven't delved into it all that much, you'll love the Enneagram because of its complexity. I've been studying it enthusiastically for 4 years now and still haven't completely mastered it...there's always some new connection to make. It's one of those things where you first master the basic concepts of it, then master the nuances of it...but after that it's a "lifelong" process of honing the skills and perfecting it. Check your PM box.
  25. You're exactly 50/50 on I/E and J/P????? Wow...Not surprised about the NT part though...my best friend is an ENTP. Your online persona is very similar to his persona.
