  1. What's with the swivel camera? I don't understand the point...and it sounds like something that'll break or detatch easily. I'm def a fan of the KISS method with cell phones. Also, you didn't answer my question of whether the Samsung is plastic or metal. It makes a big difference.
  2. Rendezvous was not halfassed. Dorky-looking is subjective, but the product overall was very competent. Lots of conquest buyers.
  3. LAUGH OUT LOUD
  4. I think their price is steep for the music. iTunes is $0.90 per song. I don't see why most people would pay nearly three times as much for only an extra copy for their phone.
  5. Exactly, they see no need to unionize which is what I said in the post. The company provides them and there isn't this adversarial relationship between worker and company. Which of the following do you think has more loyalty to the automaker: Toyota, who takes care of its employees enough so they see no need to unionize OR GM, whose employees are unionized and fight over every $0.10 Frankly, I think the UAW workers have far more loyalty to the union than they do to GM, Ford, or DCX.
  6. It's definitely thicker than my RAZR. Is it metal or plastic? From the amount of shine in the pics, my guess is plastic. Buttons look smaller than the RAZR. Isn't the RAZR quad-band? I believe so... It seems alright, but I wish it were less of a blatant me-too product. Even the name is a me-too name. Also...what's EVDO? Never heard of it. I'll have to see one in person to really develop an opinion on it, but so far I don't see the compelling reason to choose this phone over a RAZR (judging just on the phone, not the associated networks).
  7. That would be the death of Buick.
  8. a detail or two are correct, but overall it is a bit off. Quite a bit off.

    GMC Acadia

    Yes.

That Passat you pictured is the Sport trim with the aluminum-look trim. Couple with a grey interior and it's bound to look bad. I saw one that def wasn't the top of the line parked outside a frat the other day and it had the wood and everything. Tan interior. Very sharp!
  11. Are you being facetious? Elvis definitely was the father of rock and roll. There were a lot of underground movements leading up to what Elvis did, but Elvis pulled all the movements together and more importantly brought rock into the mainstream.
  12. Elvis was more significant than the Beatles. Beatles come in at #2. The person who invents a genre is always more significant than the people who redefine it because in order to redefine something, there had to be a pre-existing definition.
  13. AH-HA said otherwise, and given its introduction time I tend to agree with him. GM is trying to shorten the time between product unveiling and the time a product goes on sale for competitive reasons and also because buyers get frustrated with a long wait.
  14. It's easy to jump to such a conclusion when you display your ignorance on a daily basis. BV: Go for it. It looks unique as I have never seen a Grand Am with that rear treatment and it looks fairly nice. I'd take it a step further though, and do something so it doesn't look like there's just a bulb hanging there like in the HOW TO's "model." I'd go for a "starburst" treatment (2003+ Malibu) if possible. If done well, it could look really classy and unique. Also, don't let Sixty8 get to you. He's just content on antagonizing you on the board. Seriously...what kind of person spends so much time online antagonizing people?
  15. Maybe. I think Lambda might actually get it though since GM has several Thetas on the table and thus far we only know of three Lambdas. Might want to maximize the platform to get it profitable quickly. Let's see what we have here: Theta: Chevrolet Equinox Pontiac Torrent Saturn VUE GMC ??? Lambda: Chevrolet (TB?) Buick Centieme GMC Acadia It would make sense for more Lambda variants to follow. BTW What is Chevrolet going to do for a minivan? It needs a Lambda minivan...
  16. I highly doubt it will be shown at any 2006 autoshow (maybe the 2nd LA show of the year, though...remember LA gets bumped up to the end of 2006 for the 2007 show circuit.
  17. Toyota workers want their company to succeed. They aren't unionized, and they aren't because they love Toyota and see no need to unionize. Any auto worker has loyalty to the company that supplies their paycheck.
  18. I think it's actually three years, but yes it makes a difference. I was brought up on music, and I remember when Milli Vanilli was big, and I remember when they made history by having their Grammy revoked. Everyone was talking about it. I was in Kindergarten when it happened.
  19. The Rendezvous name needs to stay. I really REALLY hope they reconsider. I have a feeling they will get some feedback at the shows...
  20. You are the only one saying reliability. Everyone else is saying quality. Quality includes engineering. A poorly-engineered car is not a quality product. I'm not saying this makes the whole car poorly-engineered, but it IS a quality issue no matter how you spin it.

    Saturn

I don't think you read a word of what I said. It wouldn't work and would cheapen and devalue every applicable brand. Just no.
  22. Yes, second-rate engineering. That's still a quality issue no matter how you want to spin it.
  23. Because you are too young to remember Milli Vanilli
  24. Basically, take a CTS and graft the rear 3/4 of this pic: The CTS decklid isn't quite as high...maybe 75% of the Imaj. The windshield is therefore bigger. Rear overhang is obviously greater than Imaj, too. Do this graft and thats the general idea of it.
