Ehhhh...Krystal =/= White Castle. Krystal is a knockoff, but the menus are pretty different.

Same thing. The only real variation I've ever seen, and not too commonplace at that, is a Long Beach (iced tea), where 7up substitutes the cola and cran or raspberry syrup is added. CPK calls their Long Beach a "Beverly Hills Iced Tea"--why, I do not know.

Alcohol is inexpensive, but can become expensive if you don't know what you're doing. I really would recommend not being a goody-goody because by the time you turn 21 and are discovering it with virgin eyes...everyone else did that at least 3-4 years ago. That will have negative social repercussions, just trust me on this. Past the age of 21, no one likes hanging with an annoying drunk who can't hold liquor. My drink of choice is a long islander, but good ones are sooooooo rare. I actually use those as my measure of how good a bar is.

I don't make assumptions about people. For all I know, your best friends are all clubbing/shopping hags, or maybe you've never been to a club in your life. I don't know, and I don't really care. But there most certainly are certain situations when I'd assume vodka (if I were a bartender) versus otherwise. Because it just would make sense to do so.

Disagree. McDonald's is overprocessed and lacks flavor. White Castle and the onion-steamed meat has lots of flavor. Quality-wise, I think the nod goes to White Castle, not only because their fries are real potatoes without flavoring, but also because their low-quality beef is at least beaf, and not the soy-loaded crap McD's serves mixed with beef.

I wouldn't get caught up in rules and procedures like that to lose focus of what makes sense in a given situation--in a club with lots of drunk girls who think they're hotter than they are, I would be floored if a single gin martini were ordered in a given night--that clientele prefers vodka and generally hates gin. Plus, whether you're drinking vodka or gin, you should always specify what vodka or gin you want when initially ordering or you will get $h! to drink. This also gets you what you want and avoids the ambiguity.

Beer is the way to go if you want to look like a fat midwestern drunk or that dude in college who joined a frat to drink and never stopped, going from slim to morbidly obese in just 3 years. Broaden your horizons with some hard A. Be warne: SoCo sneaks up on you, though tastes very good.

I think it's reasonable for a bartender to ask "Vodka or Gin?" ...but I definitely agree that assuming vodka is bogus. You won't get me in agreement that a "proper" martini is gin because a vodka martini is just a type of martini...not an "improper" one. An "improper" martini would be something being called a martini just because it's in a cocktail glass.

Pretty much the only thing I wish were in CA that isn't is Jimmy John's. I can live without Steak n Shake, because I have found better shakes out here. I can live without White Castle, though it would be nice if the frozen sliders weren't the only way to get them from time to time...but I miss me some Jimmy John's. Good food, super low calorie, especially if you get it lettuce wrapped.

McDonald's is gross, and their food makes people fat. Fries aren't that great, though the Filet-O-Fish is pretty decent.

There's this wonderful place in El Segundo (other locations in Irvine) called The Veggie Grill. Think vegan fast food. Now, I love meat, but if I want to treat myself, I order a V-Burger with portobello and avocado, side of Sweetheart Fries (sweet potato fries), and a drink...they only carry flavored teas, sweetened with agave, of course. Soooooo good, and the chipotle "mayo" dipping sauce for those fries? Whoa. http://www.veggiegrill.com/

Or, a simple "let's get something straight...I'm not." would do the same thing without any of the melodrama. Honestly, I think it's a bit much to assume that she's looking to meet up with "the other guy" from HS after all these years and start a relationship. Girls are ridiculous, but not that ridiculous...unless seriously unbalanced, in which you run in the other direction anyway.

Nope. Never clean enough for it, and with the minor damage here and there, I don't really feel like it's worth the effort. Plus, I'd have to clean the interior :eek: Nope, cost/benefit analysis doesn't work out. Minor dents, but there is some scratching on the rear decklid. Minor, but I know it's there... I'd get one in silver, red or black. Hopefully black.

If I won the lottery, after making sensible choices with the money (putting most of it into savings, donating some to charity, etc.), I'd probably restore my Aurora as much as possible, especially as far as interior parts go. I'd also look into finding an Allante as I've always loved those. Maybe a bustleback Seville.

Not really. The hard fact is that he was 7 under the speed limit. If the police officer says he was impeding traffic, then I believe it. Officers generally don't go around picking on old men for no reason. -

According to the law posted above, the "within 10" guideline is a category (II) rule, while impeding normal/reasonable traffic flow is category (I). So, while not violating (II), he may be violating (I).
