Define "bad." Your best bet would be to find some pizza that is a) thin crust, b) uses light cheese, c) uses meats sparingly, and c) is loaded with veggies. CPK makes several varieties that fit some of these criteria, but just look at the nutrition info and google for suggestions on pizzas that fit your health needs.

That was an assumption on my part--that your reference to being a homeowner vs. renter had to do with property taxes since you were suggesting I'd change my mind on voting conservative/progressive once I became a homeowner. Usually the property tax argument fits in very well here. That still said, I highly doubt I'd change my mind on this. I'm very principled and don't change my mind often on things. My other concerns about the local area keep me neatly in the D fold too: historic preservation, sustainability, convenient and affordable transit, affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, etc.

Get your panties out of a bunch. I have no idea whether or not you will choose to engage in a discussion with me that you deem "retarded" (??? arguing with me about my opinion ???), especially over a vehicle that isn't even being spy photo'd. If you have followed my posts, I said I might like the vehicle more if it had a different name. You see, I'm already a fan of the SRX. And the new SRX does not suit me anywhere near as much as the current model does. By keeping the same model name, it creates expectations. Expectations for improvement. When the overall vehicle appears to be one downgrade after another, it is disappointing. And what is the targeted competition? This thing doesn't fit into a segment very well, like many GM vehicles. Will it compete with an RX? An Enclave? An EX? On what? Content? Price? MPG? Who the hell knows. I hope for GM's sake that it sells, but it won't generate a sale to me.

And once again, fitting into only the "segment" GM created for it, I question what sales will be like. And again, if this is wider, why in hell do rear seat passenger width dimensions fall so much?

Guys, tough financial times call for cutbacks in non-profitable areas. The writing was on the wall when they never announced the official name and winner behind that name back in the summer.

No way in hell are those apples-to-apples width comparisons. If they were, then GM has serious packaging issues to widen a vehicle by several inches but lose significant amounts of hip and shoulder room. My guess: one of those width measurements includes side mirrors, and the other does not.

As I have posted either here, or in one of the other two threads on the new SRX (mods, can we get a consolidation, please?), this is like GM creating a premium Delta compact for Cadillac with leather and nav, and then calling it DTS because they're both FWD. Clearly the Delta DTS would be considered a "downgrade" over the G-body, and rightfully so. If GM wanted to replace a large RWD crossover that seats 7 with a compact/midsize FWD crossover that seats 5, they should have given it a new name.

Ven, I am very politically aware--I follow that stuff far more closely than most people do, and know full well that "black and white" doesn't really fit in anywhere. I don't recall if I've mentioned this on here or not, but I'm an urban planner--I'm very well aware of the general attitude trends of homeowners vs. renters. But as an urban planner, I'm already far more invested than the vast majority of renters. Because it's my career to be. Also, in CA, the Propositions allow Californians to vote on individual ballot initiatives. And we do it. A lot. It's a nice sidestep to a two-party system, where I can vote D and still vote for a tax cut to eliminate something truly stupid, or my good friend--a prominent republican--can vote straight R and still vote "No" on Prop 8. We get to eat our cake, so to speak.

I'm glad you posted those measurements, as the Rear Shoulder Room and Rear Hip Room decreased by 1.4 and 1.6 inches, respectively. That's a marked decrease.

1) I don't need a picture to judge a downgrade in seating. 5<7. Simple math. 2) I don't need a picture to judge a downgrade in comfort. A markedly narrower vehicle will have a deficit in hip & shoulder room. Simple physics. 4) I believe it did, but even wood trim would suffice for me here. The dash is too monochromatic for a Cadillac. Just a small strip of wood along that plane dividing the dash upper and lower on the passenger's side would do wonders for this interior. 5) I said I'd like to judge it in person, but the live photos posted make the plastics look cheap to me. Given the Equinox underpinnings, instead of CTS foundations, I'm fretting over GM half-assing a Cadillac. Prove me wrong, GM; I dare you.

Interior downgrades: 1) Seating 2) Comfort (major drop in width) 3) Storage (loses handy dash cubby) 4) Ambiance (not enough wood) 5) Questionable plastics (live photos make the plastics look cheap. I want to judge it in person, but the outgoing model has a very nice interior, though the design could be more cohesive. Materials are very nice.) Basically, new models should offer more than outgoing models. The only "upgrade" I see to this interior is the dash design--not necessarily dash materials or "things" available on the dash. Maybe I'd be more inclined to like it if it were called something other than SRX, but this would be akin to Cadillac bringing out a really nice Delta compact and calling it DTS. It just doesn't work.

Exterior is much more dynamic, but the interior has several issues that IMO make it a downgrade over the current model. The smaller size and drivetrain certainly do not excite me much, either.

Well, in CA property taxes are capped at 1% of the assessed value, starting at the sales price, and may rise by no more than 2% of that annually thereafter. I don't see a problem with that, and honestly taxes are not a big enough deal for me to vote for everything else the GOP stands for.

See I'm the opposite: I much prefer democratic local and national, but prefer conservative state. I will vote for a progressive conservative, though. Those tend to be the Republicans accused of being "crazy liberals" by their own party, though, and rarely win.

Not to be argumentative, but Massachusetts should IMO hold the "most liberal" crown due to their entire congressional representation being blue, along with their governor. I wasn't trying to say WA is conservative or anything, but that like the other coastal western states, there are pockets of conservatism. Just like I laugh when someone says CA is the most liberal state--because I can't imagine what rock one must live under to have not heard of Orange County in the past 6 years.
