  1. Not really. From the original post, it could very easily have been someone who is just not all that smart, but as the OP noted, it was intentional. That does change things a bit. That said, considering has been a legal form of free speech in this country, I don't honestly see what the big deal is.
  2. You didn't say that in your original post. Changes things a bit.
  3. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-liqu...0,2708883.story
  4. And then he crashed his Solstice into a guardrail, right? Or is my timeline off here?
  5. God forbid anyone having an American Flag mousepad, coffee mug, bandana, or any such item and use it for anything!
  6. Disagree. SAAB has been watered-down so much within GM and starved for product. Maybe with this autonomy SAAB will be better, and at the very least it will be more attractive to buyers as it is not so tightly integrated into the mediocre GM blob.
  7. Frosted tips...a reference to your blond highlights you used to get? And funny picture, but I am not Asian.
  8. ...I think the frosted tips have affected NOS' brain in a very NOT optimal way.
  9. Can GM afford to benefit charity with this?
  10. Cavalier is a death trap in certain collision situations. Go for the Century, which is generally well-rated all-around. Major plus that it's fully-loaded. Ws are good cars.
  11. Sears has been struggling for years. Too bad, they are such an American institution. So many houses were built by Sears back in the day...and unlike the prefab houses manufactured today, those were both well-designed and full of character.
  12. Yes. The technology has been paid for. Lutz' quote doesn't make much sense here.
  13. Ruh-roh! My Aurora lost a bit of boost last night parallel parking outside my apartment...and I survived! Seriously, it didn't even require a feat of strength. Dude's wife needs serious medical attention.
  14. Gap? Why Gap? They own so many damn stores I have a hard time seeing them floundering. What have you heard? I think they're crap, so I won't miss them, but I've never heard any speculation on them like that. As far as Circuit City goes, do not miss them! Best Buy is almost always a better buy, and BB actually stocked product. BB may not be the best, but their customer service is amazing.
  15. PDC is definitely good! That's where we ended up going last night (Westlake location), and mmmmmm one of the best meals I've had! But, you get what you pay for... Then later, one of my fraternity brothers had his 21st last night at midnight at The Edison downtown, and MAN they make those drinks strong!! But for $13 apiece they better...
  16. So let me get this straight...GM has a "Name the G8 ST" contest, and the winner submitted "G8 ST"? And then picks a Torrent? W-O-W what a dumbass.
  17. Every vehicle I have driven often, but intermittently, requires more effort to steer in parking lot/driveway situations because the engine is idling, it is often after a cold start, and there isn't that much power going to the power steering pump. Even my Aurora exhibits this occasionally, but not enough to be worrisome. What is worrisome, though, is that the man's wife does not have the strength to turn the non- or minimally-boosted steering wheel. She really needs to lift some 5 lb free weights because it sounds like she has some major muscle atrophy issues.
  18. I'll pass on just about any chain restaurants. I've been to both Fogo and McCormick's in Indianapolis, and was surprisingly unimpressed with both. McCormick's I will never go to again because they cannot steam crab legs (!!) without inducing vomit, and Fogo I just found to be overpriced and long on "experience" with little to offer in the way of innovative cuisine. Oh, and it was ridiculously expensive IMO for what it is. Thanks for the suggestions, though. My parents are staying in the South Beach area, so as far as close proximity to the Westside goes, I'm thinking maybe Gyu-Kaku (not too keen on the recent price increases and menu offering slashes), Larchmont Grill up in NoHo, Roscoe's (prefer something nicer, but it's sooooooo good), Pacific Dining Car (not sure on the dress code), Seoul Jung in the Wilshire Grand Hotel (been a lot), Gladstone's of Malibu (again, been there a lot...not as good as it used to be), or maybe something I find on Yelp! 5 minutes prior to leaving the apartment. Oh, and no Italian, even though I do like Mama D's of Manhattan Beach.
  19. Well, the "jellybean" aspect is the least modern. The most modern designs, especially of this decade, have been more angular and stronger-looking. Thicker C-pillars, more upright front ends. This design hasn't aged poorly, but it's just too "soft"-looking to ever be confused as a brand new design.
  20. Chuck E. Cheese does not quite fit into my idea of "damn good food." But the party started last night, and so far it's fun.
  21. I'm so glad somebody else asked about the spinners. I'm just shocked at the lack of bling. C'mon, here was a real opportunity!!
  22. Ehhh...I'm not saying the design hasn't aged well, but there is very little "modern" about cab-forward jellybean cars. I'd never mistake that design for a new one.
  23. Fifth. And I need to figure out what restaurant I'm going to. Suggestions anyone? Price is not a constraint, but don't suggest anything blatantly overpriced like Koi. I want damn good food, and I'm willing to pay for it.
  24. Thank god you won't go to Ohio!
