  1. You guys have heard of the phrase "form following function", haven't you? I mean, I don't think they screwed up of the looks of the car just for fun. Oh, and I see zero Porsche in the NISMO Z but I see plenty of this: ...albeit less extreme.

    JAPAN

Why do people like to make the assumption that Wikipedia is somehow a bad source? It is fact-checked, you know.
  3. My HP laptop has been pretty good to me so far (aside from some Vista glitches). But I haven't had it two weeks, so take it for what it's worth.

    2007 G35

I hear talk a new Q should premiere late this year. There was supposed to be a concept shown during the current auto show circuit...don't know what happened with that. I guess they might be saving it for Tokyo's auto show in October.
  5. This is stupid for several reasons: 1. "M6" is not the name of a G35 sport package. It refers to the 6-speed manual transmission you can get with the G35 Sport. I'm pretty sure Nissan isn't the only one that uses "M6" is that respect. They don't use the term "M6" in any sort of promotion or advertising. 2. What about Nissan's "Z" that way predates the BMW "Z"? 3. On the USPTO web site, whenever there a filing of an alphanumeric trademark there is a disclaimer that clearly states something along the lines of that you can't lay claim to a letter itself, only a far as the letter/number combination that's being filed. In short, this lawsuit (and the ruling) was retarded.
  6. Why does anybody listen to Bill O'Reilly?
  7. Would it relieve you if I said I just think they're just waiting until the Titan is better established in the marketplace before jumping into the HD arena?
  8. Well, like Hudson reminded me, the 2nd-gen Pathfinder was a unibody but it could still take on the off-road. (Yes, people do take them off-road.) The Murano will never be made to do that plus I don't see it seating seven like the Pathfinder has recently been made to do. Here's another twist to this story: I've heard it rumored that the next QX will based off of the Nissan Patrol (or at least its platform).
  9. Northstar: I kind of like the Mazda6 and actually never gave those a lot of thought...just what I need, another option to consider. BV: The I35, while nice, doesn't do much for me. If I'm going to get a Maxima, I'm getting a "Maxima". --- In case anyone is confused as to why on earth the Volvo is on the list, I had dreams of modding it into something like this eventually: Plus, with a proper exhaust turbo I5 Volvos can sound pretty good. --- In all honesty, it's probably going to come down to a choice between the Maxima and Grand Prix. They're the lowest priced, after all.
  10. I think the Armada and QX56 will go unibody, not the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder has a strong off-road rep (though not as strong as the Xterra). As far as the heavy-duty Titan goes, I rather them delay it (or not do it) than half-ass it.
  11. I think I've finally succeded in making a definitive list of my next car (yeah, right). It's down to these four: 1. 2001+ Volvo S60 (2.4T or T5 likely) 2. 2004+ Pontiac Grand Prix (GT or GTP) 3. 2000-2003 Nissan Maxima 4. 2002-2006 Nissan Altima (3.5SE or SE-R) The common thing for me in all of these cars is liking the looks, sounds, and powertrains (of the above-mentioned versions) of all of these. These can all be had for around the same price (maybe not the SE-R or T5). So if you were in my shoes, which would you choose. Please be as objective as you can.
  12. Well, as was mentioned previously it's not up to Toyota; it's up to their workers to decide if they want to unionize. And seeing as how they, so far, haven't decided to unionize they seem pretty happy with their current job situation, so...
  13. 1. Infiniti not Infinity. 2. Hyundai is Korean, not Japanese. 3. All Japanese cars don't look alike. 4. I think Hyundai could very well create its own luxury brand eventually. The Genesis is about as far as they can go I think as far as what people will pay for a "Hyundai".
  14. Good God, man you'll bitch about anything Japanese won't you? At least most guys here have an "off" (or "low") switch for that. There are very few new cars that don't have orange peel in the paint these days.
  15. Reviews: 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R With decent performance numbers, real-world usability and competitive pricing, the Spec V comes closer to the magic SE-R formula than we anticipated, given its size. The only real obstacle facing the Spec V is the fact that its arched roof line and tall profile scream "frumpy commuter car" much louder than its low-profile tires and semi-sporty exhaust note declare it an official sport compact. Nissan tells us that about 10 percent of Sentra sales have traditionally been SE-R models, and the high-intensity Spec V has comprised the majority of that number. SE-R enthusiasts are clearly a dedicated crowd, and we'll see if they start hanging wings and spoilers on the Spec V or get used to crossing over to its newly adult personality. Edmunds
  16. Hyundai to Build New Engine Plant in Alabama Hyundai announced today its intention to build a new engine plant in the U.S. at its current lone production facility in Montgomery, Alabama. The new facility will cost Hyundai around $270 million and add an additional 520 jobs to the plant. Engines produced at the new facility, which will break ground in September 2008, will supply not only Hyundai's Alabama plant, but also Kia's new plant in Georgia. Autoblog
  17. Not everyone in the media thinks the exact same way. Inconsistency in viewpoints really shouldn't be a shock or a point of castigation.
  18. When was it announced that they are cutting wages? And last I heard, at at least one Toyota plant workers there earn more than the workers in unionized domestic plants do: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=15171

  20. Real-life teaser: The coupe will officially be badged as the "G37". http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/13/next-in...ally-named-g37/
  21. I fail to see how they "deserve" having their plants being unionized if they treat their workers well.
  22. Looks like your plan backfired Brew.
  23. I'm forever confused by people who drive way under the limit in the center lane(s) of a three (or four)-lane highway especially when there's nothing keeping them from moving over to the right.
  24. Well, it's truer than calling them just "American".
