  1. Didn't it have an assload of electrical problems, serpentine belt failures and cost an obscene amount to fix due to parts having to be shipped from overseas (it being an Opel)?
  2. Spied: 2008 Chrysler Town & Country (Damn, couldn't think of witty title. Anyway...) The Car Connection has given us a sneak peek of the next iteration of Chrysler's minivan. (And if DCX stays true to history, Dodge's as well.) TCC only gives us a rear end shot but this photo tells quite a bit about what to expect come next year. This and more in TCC's Daily Edition for May 10. Read The Car Connection's Daily Edition for May 10, 2006 *Update at post #70.
  3. And here I thought they never existed there in the first place.
  4. Artist/Band, Song Title, Album (if you want). The Strokes - "Electricityscape" - First Impressions of Earth
  5. It's a tad steep. ---- E3 2006: PS3 Date and Price Announced System to come in two configurations, will cost up to $599. by Jeff Haynes May 8, 2006 - In a last minute bombshell, Kaz Hirai announced the specific date and details of the PS3 launch. The PS3 will be arranged in two separate system configurations: a 20 and a 60 gigabyte hard drive system. What's more, Japan will see the PS3 first on November 11th, at a price for 59,800 yen for the 20 gigabyte system setup. The 60 gigabyte system will be open ended and set by retailers. North America, Europe and Australasia will see the system six days later on November 17th. The price? $499 dollars or 499 Euros for the 20 gig version, and $599 dollars or 599 Euros for the 60 gig version. In Canadian dollars, that will come to approximately $549 dollars for the 20 gig and $659 dollars for the 60 gig version. Hirai also announced that Sony will try to get a grand total of six million units shipped by March 31, 2007, which is Sony's fiscal date: 2 million PS3s will be available during the initial launch window, another 2 million will be shipped before the end of 2006, and finally another 2 before March 31st. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705838p1.html
  6. I wasn't that frustrated but it's a bit like going 30 minutes and 10 miles out of your way to escape a traffic jam and having the jam clear up a 1/4 of a mile down the highway.
  7. TCC: "Excuse us while we kiss the Sky." Saturn's super sexy roadster is the epitome of sunny summer-time fun. The Sky is poised to mangle the Miata, bash the Boxster and stomp the S2000. It that how the reviewers at The Car Connection see it? Find out at the link below. Read the 2007 Saturn Sky Review @ The Car Connection
  8. The Car Connection Connects with the Versa The Edmunds test was a first look; this Car Connection test is a feature presentation (corny way of saying it's a full review). View the review now. Read the 2007 Nissan Versa Review @ The Car Connection
  9. If one of the speakers on your home theater system stops working, don't: -Disconnect all 30 wires attached to it... -Take the whole system apart to find nothing wrong... -Turn the receiver off and on repeatedly... -Curse at and hit the receiver several times... -Search on Google futilely to find a solution to the problem only to find nothing... -Curse at and hit the receiver several times again... ...when all you needed to do was cut off the old bare wire at each end of the speaker wire and strip and connect new bare wire.
  10. Congrats on the new ride. Kinda funny your name is Olds Guy and you have two Pontiacs. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. The first gen Infiniti M45 looked very American, IMO:
  12. Are your bulbs Sylvania Silverstars? It might be kind of late for this but I'd be wary of them. I've read they are pretty low-quality bulbs and fail kind of quickly. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=954736
  13. It was an episode of Overhaulin'. They restored a woman's '67 El Camino (and a Chevy S-10). I didn't catch the ending.
  14. Finally, I get to use this:
  15. Canadian Chargers come with the 2.7L.
  16. Details about your Mac experience? Every HP/Compaq I've ever had has had some piece(s) of hardware fail. Used Alienwares are pretty cheap for the performance, too. I think a Mac desktop and Alienware notebook would work great for me (or vice-versa). I'm not sure I want to abandon Windows/PCs altogether. I know about Boot Camp but still some reviews state it's not 100% like a PC since some apps still run slower on a Windows Mac (mainly games which though I don't play much of on computers, I still would like to be able to if I want).
  17. I can understand it. You can like a car but at the same time you dn't want to be driving the same thing forever. What fun is that? There are already tons of cars out there I want to own but I'll never realistically own (let alone drive) them all. It's a cliche but variety is the spice of life.
  18. That'll teach them to buy a DCX car with that pitiful engine. I hope they learned their lesson.
  19. The iMacs look cool, though. It would free up a lot of space on my desk, too.
  20. The more I read about the Mac, the more I'm intrigued. I just might pick up one of the new Intel-powered ones when I can.
  21. It's not really for any particular reason. I don't do that much gaiming (I have consoles for that) but I do some Photoshopping and video editing now and then. Nothing heavy but I want something that's considerably quicker than the desktop I have now. I only just came across the G5 while browsing and it looks to be a high-performance machine for a great value.
  22. Well, the 80s produced a lot of bad TV commericals. A lot of bad everything, really. 'Twas the decade taste forgot.
  23. I'm pretty unsatisfied with both of my computers right now. My desktop is pretty much a Frankenstein hodge-podge of newer parts (motherboard, processor...) and parts from previous computers (hard drive, RAM...). The thing is pretty slow by today's standards and it been grating on my nerves for a while. The Compaq laptop is much faster (2.8GHz Pentium 4, 512MB RAM) but is an unreliable POS. The power connector broke, the keyboard and touchpad are dead and the montior has some dead pixels. Not to mention it gets hot and is loud as hell. So I've recently been looking at alternatives for the future and came across a pretty good-looking deals on Alienware and Mac G5 computers. Now I have very little Mac experience so I'm more curious about them. The specs look good, though. Here's one for $650... http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/sys/157420955.html If I go Mac, will I go back? As for Alienware, I guess I just want to know how reliable they are.
  24. Spied: 2008 Mercedes C-Class New Mercedes C-Class spy photos have emerged today and oh, dear... Well, you can judge them for yourself. They include an interior shot. Read "Mercedes C-Class – Old and New Spy Pics" @ World Car Fans Update at post #20.
  25. You may want to turn to The Learning Channel right about now. :AH-HA_wink:
