  1. Good. The Vue is small enough, and Toyota's new RAV4 is much larger.
  2. I recently posted on GMI: "The rumors on the various message boards is that a Camaro would share its platform with a Chevrolet sedan and possibly sedans for Buick or Pontiac." Hudson responded: "That's not what it looks like currently. And it's not based on the GTO either." So maybe it's "Kappa Plus." Hudson's post here is also interesting - http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...936&#entry42936 But will Chevrolet ever get a big RWD sedan?
  3. 1972 was a good looking year, especially the Impala Custom Coupe.

Besides Hummer (strictly because of the H3), Saturn was the one division that increased in sales in October. This may sound heretical to some, but maybe GM is wise to invest in Saturn at the expense of Buick and Pontiac.
  5. Wouldn't make any difference.
  6. Most of us aren't smart enough to know what GM should do. There are about 4 people here who probably do know. I just hope that the GMT900's can generate a lot of cash fast.
  7. Dreaming about new Pontiacs, Buicks, and Saabs is difficult for me after reading all of GM's financial woes. Hopefully the new GMT900's will generate cash to give GM money to develop new products.

Dreaming about new Camaros, RWD V8 Impalas, and new luxury Buick sedans is very difficult when reading this stuff. Jonathan Hoenig said on Cavuto on Business yesterday that he predicts bankruptcy by the spring of 2006. We know that GM has lots of great stuff coming out in the next few years, but GM needs to generate a lot of cash now. I can't see GM prospering unless it can close a lot of plants and rid itself of the pension obligations and health care benefits. I can't see GM doing these things without bankruptcy. Yet I can't see millions of people willing to buy cars from a bankrupt manufacturer.
  9. Since Buick is doing well in China, I don't know if GM would drop Buick in the U.S., even if Enclave and Lucerne flop. I can't see Saab taking Buick's place. I wouldn't cry if GM sold or discontinued Saab.
  10. I read a few weeks ago that some financial analysts think that Kirk Kerkorian will send Saab packing (Hummer too) if he ever gets more control over GM. Most of us here like Buick, but its image as an old persons car or as nothing different from a Chevrolet is hard to shake.
  11. If GM declares bankruptcy, I expect GM will be down to Chevrolet, Cadillac, and maybe GMC (since it is GM's second highest selling division) and maybe Hummer. I expect that Buick, Pontiac, Saturn, and Saab will all die.
  12. I fully support selling Theta crossovers as GMC's rather than Buicks or Pontiacs. Because of GMC's positive image, the crossovers will sell much better - especially among young buyers - as GMC's than as Buicks or Pontiacs. I hope that the Enclave sells well, but I don't know if buyers are willing to give Buick a chance.
  13. I don't see any Buick Theta listed here - http://www3.sympatico.ca/tedkrygier/future.htm -
  14. Maybe 2010, if GM doesn't declare bankruptcy. Until then, you will probably have to be happy with LaCrosse, Lucerne, and Enclave. If GM does declare bankruptcy, I wouldn't be surprised to see Buick die.

    Here's another sad article - http://yahoo.businessweek.com/magazine/con...47/b3960085.htm
  16. Am I correct in think that the new crossovers will be Buick Enclave GMC Acadia Saturn Outlook Chevrolet sub-Theta GMC sub-Theta Saturn sub-Theta Cadillac BRX
  17. This seems to go along with an outstanding post Griffon made earlier - http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...419&#entry29419
  18. I do not know of any evangelical Christian mothers who are psychotic. I don't know where you get some of your stereotypes from. Most of your posts are highly intelligent, a few border on brilliant; not this one. One of the largest evangelical churches in the country - Saddleback Church - is close to where you are in Lake Forest, CA. Maybe you should visit there one Sunday morning to get a better idea of what evangelicals are like.
  19. Buick's future for the next three or four years is LaCrosse, Lucerne, and Enclave. I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything more.
  20. My guess is that the U.S. will not get the Zeta to be built in Australia. My understanding is that production processes for Australia don't work in North America, so I don't think that Zeta will be built in N.A. We may get a cheaper version of the Sigma platform for a new Camaro and Chevrolet sedan and perhaps a Buick or Pontiac. But probably not before the 2009 model year - or later. You guys are going to have let the LaCrosse, Lucerne, and Impala all recently introduced to run their course.
  21. What kind of vehicle will this be? It may make sense for Ford to develop a new sedan/wagon/hatchback on a shortened CD3 platform.
  22. The V6 will be just fine for a simple work truck used on a commercial site. There still is a small market for that type of vehicle.
  23. In Mississippi, they say Bon-uh-vuhl.
  24. I think that zmanjr's post is meant to be a joke.
  25. What Northstar said is exactly what I have read. Camaro and a RWD Chevy sedan are the most likely. A GTO is unlikely. RWD Pontiac and Buick sedans are possible, but not as likely. The upcoming Zeta Holden Commodore could be imported here as a Pontiac or Buick (Pontiac seems more likely), but that's not definite. I do agree with Croc that a V6 Camaro is not necessary, but I do believe that there will be one. None of this is definite, but is interesting. Most of you are mostly interested in the Camaro, but I am more interested in the Chevy sedan. I'm older and more conservative than most of you.
