  1. Did you notice or even read the two News article links that I posted above and that they are NOT FROM FOX NEWS? The YT vid below doesn't look peaceful to me...link/video coming from your local News channel NOT Fox News... Please stop with the divisive rhetoric and stop blaming the "current administration" for everything, it needs to stop for the good of the entire country!! Others on here have directly or indirectly mentioned this. Please don't ruin a good car site with divisive political crap, David. Let’s just talk about cars, classics and new. Thanks!
  2. Great points, I have so much more to add to this, but I will refrain from most. I will add, Hey has anyone heard what's going on in Seattle? That was a rhetorical question I know you all have. Yeah, lets not bring up that the Seattle Mayor is encouraging the actions of the anarchists and Antifa cowards, in her words it's "just a Summer Block Party" talk about complete incompetence in the local government. All the WA State Gov. can say is "Oh I haven't heard about it" He's completely full of it! Seattle Police can't safely do their job and had to abandon an entire East Precinct in the area because the Mayor banned the use of flash bangs, pepper spray and tear gas used for unruly and/or criminal minded crowds, and yes a local liberal judge cleared the ban. So basically, no non-lethal way of subduing or dispersing the crowd of criminals and militant anarchists carrying AR-15's at checkpoints of a still confused naming of CHAZ or CHOP "Autonomous Zone" and No Cop Co-op with a list of demands before they give up the 6 block area around the East Precinct. They ONLY want to Fully Defund the Police, Free Education for all and a few other far Left Socialist agenda items that I don't care to list. Yeah, sounds like a great place to live right about now... Just heard today that the Hells Angels are planning a trip to Seattle with other bikers to see what they can do to help "encourage" the morons to leave the area. Just might force the Mayor to do her job and let the local police do theirs. We won't go into the massive issue of homeless drug addicts defecating on the streets of downtown Seattle also something that the Mayor won't do anything about...good luck with no Summertime tourists. Who wants to visit a wasteland? I had the "pleasure" of visiting Seattle for work not long ago and let me tell you, it was a disaster. There's a Huge difference in the way a Red State is governed over a Blue State in this country. Flash bangs and tear gas are used here in AZ if needed, and guess what? the anarchist cowards know they can't get away with that BS here or TX or FL or even NC where police dismantled an Antifa attempt at an Autonomous Zone that failed big time in downtown Asheville. I'll state it again, RULE OF LAW is in place in the U.S.A. as well as other industrialized countries for a reason...it's VERY effective. https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/protests/seattle-capitol-hill-autonomous-zone-chaz-protests-black-lives-matter/281-c07d3974-9993-4f67-a84d-4ffc92ad62bd https://www.cbs17.com/news/police-dismantle-roadblock-built-by-protesters-in-asheville/
  3. The Chevrolet Corvette won't have a problem staying alive, they sell 10's of thousands a year and they are very attainable for many people around the country and the world. First C8 allocations were sold out within in the first couple of weeks of order books opening and 2021 C8's will sellout fast as well. Only reason C7 sales dove off last year is because people waited to buy a C8. By keeping the C7 around they could first, offer it at a much lower price than the C8, and second keep the "purists" happy with the front engine setup. I love both. I get what you're trying to say, but why should GM cheapen up the C8 just so people that can't afford it now can? They already did that starting at an astronomically low price of $59,995 and virtually none sell for less than $75-80k because many people can afford them and order them with what they want. GM would also have to sacrifice quality to make it any less expensive. Corvette is simply not an inexpensive car, never has been and never will be. Someone that wants one just has to work as hard as they possible can and buy the real deal, that's how the U.S.A. became such a strong Capitalist country that has thrived for so many decades, HARD A$$ WORK.
  4. Unfortunately for many, it won't be the C8. GM states that they lose money on every C8 that they sell for less than $80k because of the R&D spent on it and just the expensive lightweight platform in general. $59,995 pricing was just to appease the masses, it's just too expensive and too good of a car to be sold for under $80k or even the base $60k car. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/11/chevrolet-loses-money-on-all-corvette-c8s-sold-for-less-than-80000/ https://www.motor1.com/news/385310/gm-loses-on-base-corvette/
  5. The exact reason GM should have kept the C7 around. A Base model C7 that the R&D is fully paid for and can be offered to more people. They don't want to cannibalize the Camaro though which still offering a less expensive C7 would do and they're still selling Camaro's obviously at a slower rate just like Mustangs and Challengers right now. It also has to do with assembly plant allocation with Camaro being built at a different plant (Lansing, MI) than Corvette (Bowling Green, KY).
  6. Great minds think alike! Except for that Yota MR-Too strange front end kinda like the new i8 pretty sleek lines, but the funky nose doesn't flow with the rest of the car. Yes, RWD and I-6 in Mazda 6, going for broke in a dying segment, last chance too woo sedan buyers.
  7. Ok, here you all go. Let's see which ones make it. Badass automobile porn to me are 2, 9 (love the Cad. Red Obsession Tintcoat) and 10 of course (right @oldshurst442), rugged but quiet at 14, pretty sleek at 22 and 23 although 23 kinda same 'ole MB and cost cutting with soft top, 24 doesn't look much different from 370Z so far and finally maybe making a comeback at 26. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/g28985154/future-cars/?slide=16
  8. See this? NiMoCo trying to save Nissan with some past time mojo. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30586109/nissan-z-future-2021/
  9. XLR started on a C5 chassis, but ended up on a C6 chassis that started production in 2005, XLR was 2004-2009. The C5 chassis is awesome along with C6, C7 and C8, C5 was leaps and bounds better than the C4, stiffer and lighter frame, better handling etc... GM won't let anything in the stable beat the Corvette on power, like @oldshurst442 stated, GM is a full-line automobile manufacturer from cheap econo boxes to a loaded C8 Z51 Vette or Escalade Platinum, unlike your vaunted favorite MB that doesn't have an actual full-line, no trucks at all or basic econo boxes. Click on the link below that I posted in the body of text above that you apparently didn't open, try it you might learn something. It only mentions C6 Corvette with XLR because for most of it's life that's what chassis XLR rode on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_XLR This is exactly what you stated above: "I think it possible for Cadillac to make an SUV that can match the C8 on a race track or at least get really close." Not gonna match it or get remotely close. And 12 seconds is an eternity on the track, you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. I've driven all generations of the Corvette from C1 to C7 and own a C5 Coupe with just some bolt-ons so not much needs to be done from the factory. Just usual "Fog Horn Leg Horn" smoke from you.
  10. The XLR based on the C6 Corvette had the exclusive 4.6L NS and 4.4LSC NS (XLR-V) V8's and a 5 speed AT when the first C6's had the LS2 6.0L with a 4 sp. AT then later had the LS3 6.2L and a 6 sp. AT along with the 6 spd. man. and they both had their own exclusive interiors as well, XLR looked nothing like the C6 inside or out. In the last 20 years or so GM has been pretty good about differentiating their bread and butter division with their luxury division. If GM did this the Blackwing 4.2TT or similar would come into play, it will be a limited production high end halo car for Cadillac so very little if any parts bin sharing will take place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_XLR We all know the XT6 was going to be on the CT6 RWD Omega platform before it was discontinued with the CT6 so it wasn't the original plan like you make it out to be. Omega was a very expensive chassis with all kinds of precious metals used to lighten it up so it obviously didn't make sense monetarily to just have it for XT6 so it was placed on the C1XX CUV chassis to keep it alive. You seem to get stuck in 90's GM when commenting about them, like Oldsmobile, Saturn and Pontiac are still around and all the parts bin sharing is going on like a cancer, but it's 2020 man. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! How would an SUV, ANY SUV, match the track performance of a ME layout sports car like the C8 Corvette?! It's not possible. Doesn't matter how low or wide they get it, it's still a top heavy SUV and the C8 is still a low slung ME track machine, soon to be a Supercar as Z06 and ZR1 and a Hypercar as ZORA. Every auto manufacturer will take a hefty hit this year, none will be immune to the complete disaster of a year like 2020 is. GM has decent free cash on hand after a pretty good Q4 2019 despite the 40 day strike at the end of Q3. https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/GM/general-motors/free-cash-flow

  12. That's it! Minus the decals, canopy and the C3 Corvette side pipes. Has the standard mag wheels the LUV's had. Are you going to be able to handle the desert SW scene on the canopy? Those saguaro's and the orange sky sunset might bring back nightmares! 😁
  13. Aunt and Uncle in OR have a yellow LUV, bought her brand new in '74. She's pretty clean and still hauls the family Christmas trees every year and makes the dump runs. Good lil trucks!
  14. You only see links and not two embedded pictures in the body of this page? Shows they uploaded below.
  15. My vote is for a square body Chevy. Loved and miss the 3/4 ton 4x4 LB I had. Solid indestructible trucks.
  16. It's a joke, they're photo shopped, see the headlights? Bimmer kidney grilles just keep getting bigger and bigger as well as Genesis grilles and others. Like the actual X7 snout below.
  17. Hey I just found the 2021 8 Series Coupe and X5 with the new BMW "enhanced" grilles!
  18. Hey your new products are coming out on the day that I'll be a year older I agree and I appreciate the input on here as well, thank you for pointing that out. We all love cars and our countries! I hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday, my pool is 86 degrees and feels great πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸœοΈ Cheers! 🍻πŸ₯‚ Here are a couple of very true well known quotes from #35 and #40 to leave you all with.
  19. @oldshurst442 that link is broken now for some reason. Try the one below. I'm drooling. https://www.motor1.com/news/367012/cadillac-mid-engined-supercar-rendering/
  20. CARS olds CARS!! Well, you are Canadian, so maybe the Molson ICE is kicking in? 😜 πŸ˜‚ https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/05/mid-engine-cadillac-sports-car-rendered/
