  1. Glad to see this and that GM is dealing with it in an open transparent way. I am also happy to see just how low this number is considering people I know that said it would be in the thousands or 10's of thousands. This is much lower.
  2. Good to know, I always wondered from an engineering point of few where wind resistance affected MPG on auto's.
  3. Lower to the ground most certainly does effect mpg. There is less wind resistance both above and below the car. It's one of the reasons the Tesla has a height adjustable suspension To clarify, I agree with you that it does make a difference on road trips and constant highway driving, but for the bulk of people just driving local city driving, I question that it really affects the MPG that much if at all.
  4. So does mine, she will not drive anything less than the trailblazer SS AWD I bought her. Sit up high with performance to boot.
  5. I still think the truck needs to be the size of my Series 5 1976 Chevy Luv Mikado. I loved that little re-badged Isuzu truck. It just went and went. 75LUV.pdf
  6. Why would anyone really want to sit lower to the ground and always have to do a deep squat to get out of the car. That lower sitting position really does not affect the MPG or handling that much in real world driving.
  7. Marketing is the biggest thing, they did an initial marketing of the Cruze Diesel and now nothing. I never hear about it, never see anything about it, etc. GM has the WORST Marketing / Sales ad department I have ever seen. They need to fire the morons who cannot seem to focus on selling everything and only on a few things.
  8. Very Cool, Did you get any pictures of the underside with this muffler system or the engine bay? Always cool to see how the OEM does things.
  9. AWESOME That is some great gas mileage.
  10. But other than the quality of the interior materials and decent diesels, they have nothing to offer, really. And they are bone crushingly expensive to repair. An SCCA buddy of mine runs an indie shop that often services Benzes. A recent A/C repair on a fairly new Benz cost more than my car is worth, due mostly to the cost of OEM parts. Mercedes makes more 400 hp cars than any other car maker, and they make more 500 hp cars than anyone else also. They also make 4 convertibles and are adding 2 more (although the SLS is going away and the AMG GT may not get a convertible). BMW and Audi each have 3, Lexus has 1, Cadillac none. So if you want power or open air motoring, they have plenty to offer. Audi and BMW have high repair costs too, and they don't have Mercedes reliability or longevity. Lexus probably is cheapest to own as far as repairs, but that is to be expected since it is just a glorified Toyota with a V6 from 2008. Thank you, You just proved the point that MB is watering down their image and brand and are headed into the same idiot territory that GM used to occupy with way to many product lines. Here MB is now having way to many versions so watering down their exclusive nature to just being a appliance seller!
  11. I can actually see GM doing a Hybrid style of Truck. Inside Truck Bed is strong Solid Steel, Outside of bed being the body panels are aluminum. Still built like a Rock!
  12. The C&G reporters will always post their own stories and welcome being emailed if you see a story not being listed here yet. But it is also OK with duplications as we do see that from time to time and we get multiple peoples input. No problem on this.
  13. Love the options, the Corvette is truly a car for everyone, drivable by everyone.
  14. Very cool and if it was like you said only a couple grand cool but at 5500, I would pass as this body style really is nothing special. Just early brick on wheels look. 15. That is awesome numbers. Love it! Hopefully GM will realize a Mid Engine supercar for Cadillac would be awesome.
  16. Happy Happy Happy B-Day!
  17. We love to count you Drew as you See Everything!
  18. Saw a 2008 AWD White Diamond Cadillac SRX today in mint condition.
  19. G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Tesla Elon Musk extends Auto Warranty to 8yrs unlimited miles It is a good thing to drop into the Tesla Blog every so often as you pick up things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmm! Infinite Mile Warranty On August 15th 2014, CEO Elon Musk posted that the Warranty on the Drive unit would now match the Battery pack. So retroactive to the beginning, all Tesla's will now have an 8yr, unlimited mileage warranty on the 85kWh motor and battery pack. Musk states that this should have been the standard warranty from the begining and that the electric motors are more reliable than a more complex moving parts, oily residue polluting gas engine that gets gummed up. To the investors, he does acknowledge that in the short term this will have a negative effect on Tesla as they build up their warranty reserves above current levels as required. With this announcement it does make one think and brings up questions! How many auto's have had electric motor and or battery failures to date? Is this to push off or make go away lawsuits by current auto owners over battery and electric motor issues? What is Tesla trying to hide? Is this a shell game to hide profits? Is this a move to account for on going cash drains? Is this to make you equal to Toyota Prius family warranty of 8 yrs / 100,000 miles warranty on powertrain and battery? Questions, Questions, Questions, What is Elon Musk hiding? What is your thoughts?
  20. Lovely Car, Awesome effort at keeping it so nice and clean. Truly a collectible for the future. Here in Seattle Washington, the state gives special license plates to auto's that are 20 years old or older and identify them as collectibles. So 5 more years for your lovely ride. Keep up the awesome work.
  21. SuperCharged Viper would be cool though! I stick with my Corvette based SS Trailblazer.
  22. Weird is right as I was expecting much better than that for my trip. I knew it would be lower since it is a AWD, but still I expected better than what I got.
  23. Yes for the gas I used, I tracked the miles driven by the amount of gas into the auto and that actually was not far different than the computer. Maybe it will get better as the engine breaks in in old style thinking, but I thought with today's modern engines that the Gas mileage was pretty consistent. This whole experience is why I believe we need a much better real world driving rating on engines as the EPA rating system is a joke.
  24. This is awesome, Put this into the V series at least or better yet, have a 9sp or 10sp transmission as the exclusive Cadillac Transmission.
