Same here, plenty of Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines. Both my kids are either on shot one or had both. Very happy that everyone who wants to get vaccinated is able too. The variations are scary and I look forward to the Booster shots from Pfizer and Moderna to address those other versions.

Toyota says it is lifted to 6.9" of ground clearance over the standard. Quote: At the heart of this package is an all-wheel-drive Sienna with 15 mm (about 6/10ths of an inch) of additional ground clearance, for a total of 6.9", thanks to a unique set of shocks and springs. Not what I would call lifted, but then this is Toyota.

Seems Toyota believes customers want a lifted AWD Minivan and as such for 2022 they have the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition. 2022 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition is the lifted, AWD minivan of your dreams | Autoblog I honestly have to say this is one UGLY MOTHER F&@#ER! IMHO

Ford has admitted that the last couple of decades were anything but Quality is Job 1 at Ford and with 2021 models having numerous problems, Ford is coming out in talking about how they are changing this to get back to Quality is Job 1 as a reason for customers to buy Ford products and they point to the Mach-E and F-150e truck as the new standard. The nightmare of launch for the Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer are to be a thing of the past. How Ford's making sure quality is Job 1 once again - Roadshow (cnet.com)

First off you have NO IDEA if the Ultium battery and power train system will have degradation in cold climates as there is no evidence of this and NO YOU CANNOT compare it to what the Leaf, BOLT, Tesla, etc. of anything compliance EV has done in the past. For all we know in a cold climate the GM BEV built on the Ultium system will have Zero degradation while Mercedes Benz will end up with a 50% reduction in battery life once in a cold climate. After all MB has FAILED to deliver any other BEV to this market and so far very little is known about their battery pack in butt below zero cold Canada or Alaska where you could be 50 below zero. Searching extensively across the internet, it is interesting that while you find interviews of MB future of batteries: The future of electric-car batteries, according to Mercedes | DrivingElectric MB actually avoids answering the question of battery degradation which makes one wonder how bad their current battery degradation is since their Compliance B-Class lost over 50% when it went into cold freezing climates compared to actual real world results for Tesla and Chevrolet BOLT.

Yes, I totally agree that GM small motors are crap too. Not a fan of Torque less motors even from American auto companies.- 20 replies

Yes this does indicate that they will have a much higher priced version, but this does not say that their will not be other trim levels that you have a choice on of RWD or AWD. Right now it is all up in the air till GM finally releases details about the trim levels, powertrain options etc. The only fact we know for sure is that the first initial launch version will be a RWD version initially with a performance AWD version coming afterwards and further updates to be announced. Interesting is that the official web site for the LYRIQ now shows that the LYRIQ will start at $58,795 rather than the original announced price of $59,990. 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ | Electric SUV | Model Overview 2023-cadillac-lyriq-electric-suv-brochure.pdf

Yes east coast sucks when it comes to the crazy half ass approach of the states / counties / cities supporting or not supporting EV charging. Like the write up says, we will have this craziness as normal pains till chargers are normal everywhere. Not unlike the early 1900's where you also had to plan out your drive as finding a gas station was not always available and many ICE owners out away from the cities ended up needing a pull from the local farmer Horse.

Seems no matter how many times I post the link people seem to not read when I do post that the LYRIQ will be available in RWD and AWD. All Press Releases here: Cadillac Pressroom - United States - LYRIQ The Original press release that covers the power train options: LYRIQ Show Car Leads Cadillac Into Electric Future QUOTE: LYRIQ, the Ultium battery system is a structural element of the architecture, integrated in ways that contribute to ride and handling, as well as safety. In fact, the lower center of gravity and near 50/50 weight distribution enabled by the placement of the battery pack results in a vehicle that’s sporty, responsive and allows for spirited driving. Additionally, the LYRIQ is driven primarily by the rear wheels, with a performance all-wheel drive option available. The placement of the drive motor at the rear of the vehicle contributes an even greater feeling of balance and agility — attributes that affirm Cadillac’s longstanding commitment to satisfying performance. It also enables the system to channel more torque to the pavement without wheelspin for exhilarating acceleration and greater cornering capability. Vehicles equipped with performance all-wheel drive go a step further, with a second drive unit placed at the front of the vehicle, which allows for a significant amount of tuning flexibility, enhancing vehicle dynamics and performance for drivers.

Quick Drive: 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
I am glad that people find the Miata a fun car to drive. Seems they continue to tweak this to be a truly drivers enjoyable rally car and that is a great thing. Style wise, I find it hideous as it reminds me that someone pinched a load and forgot to flush. Sad that they can give it horsepower but such weak torque, the Skyactiv motors I feel are a failure.- 20 replies

Interesting story on the new Bridgestone tires designed for BEV application. These low rolling resistant tires do a superior job on dry pavement. They have in past applications been less successful in wet or snow use, which makes me wonder if these type of tires will find themselves in use in the southern states only. Seems that the assessment is that there is no way the world will be ready to ban ICE auto sales by 2030 due to the lack of battery supply plants. Report: Not enough battery factories to support EVs' global rise past ICE vehicles in 2030s (greencarreports.com) Honda has released that they will start their BEV with using traditional Lithium batteries and will have solid state batteries in second generation models later this decade and that ICE auto's will go till 2040 when they believe they will have sufficient supply of batteries to support the global market. This is based on Honda using GM's Ultium Battery system and powertrain. This tells us that GM will be hard pressed to stop building ICE auto's by 2035 which is their current goal unless they ramp up battery production faster. Honda US EV plans: Solid-state batteries later this decade, all EVs by 2040 (greencarreports.com) Even a better story on Honda plans as it breaks down what they see for a conversion to pure electric with a twist which is they will still also be building Hydrogen based auto's too. Honda announces 100% 'electric' sales by 2040, but there's a twist - Electrek

Latest Update from Cadillac on LYRIQ's Development Acceleration by Virtual Testing. 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ at the Milford Proving grounds, Milford Michigan running ahead of schedule due to cutting edge virtual engineering tools. The new enhanced engineering tools have allowed them to now do far superior airflow optimizing over the design without having to build a prototype and test in a wind tunnel. This allowed Cadillac Engineers to optimize the vented roof spoiler, reducing drag while optimizing range. Cadillac-LYRIQ-Virtual-Aerodynamics-Testing-Animation.mp4 Better yet was that the new engineering tools have allowed the interiors to be designed for optimized cabin comfort taking into account everything from road and windshield noise to music and human conversations to have the best experience one could have. This starts with the actual airflow into and out of the cabin. Cadillac-LYRIQ-Virtual-Cabin-Comfort-Testing-Animation.mp4 What does this mean for gm and the customer? Best to quote the press release: “This new approach certainly achieved our initial goal of drastically reducing our engineering spend on expensive prototypes, but, more importantly, has enabled us to run faster than ever before, and deliver better quality on our first production vehicle builds.” “Now that we’ve moved to the next phase of development, the initial quality of our pre-production test vehicles is some of the best that I’ve ever seen,” said Jamie Brewer, LYRIQ chief engineer. “During early test drives, I’ve been impressed with the ride, handling and overall performance of the vehicle at this stage of development.” Several elements of the LYRIQ program were enhanced as a direct result of extensive virtual development and validation, including: Cabin comfort for all passengers in cold and hot environments Advanced aerodynamics to help maximize range1 and on-road performance Aeroacoustics and active road noise cancellation for a more enjoyable ride Driver assistance and active safety features2 for peace of mind Protection of the Ultium battery in a wide variety of collision scenarios Cadillac LYRIQ’s Development Accelerated by Virtual Testing and Validation (gm.com)

HELLO McFly!!! Any Brains up there to even turn on a Light! Production Trim and Spec is not REAL WORLD ACTUAL!!! Same here, the LYRIQ is seen in Production trim and Spec, but until actually tested and verified, one cannot make the assumptions and even you CONTRADICT yourself with your September comment. There is so much more we DO NOT KNOW about both this LYRIQ and the EQS except for one thing. MERCEDES FAILED in the Exterior style department especially compared to the LYRIQ! LYRIQ for the Win!!!
