Bolt, Bolt EUV, and so many other better EV CUVs. But then you already knew that answer and were being rhetorical!

Microsoft has joined forces with Bosch to build a seamless encrypted over-the-air update system for auto's. A system that can be used in ICE or EVs. Microsoft and Bosch join forces to create new automotive software platform - Roadshow (cnet.com) QUOTE: These two titans of their respective industries want to make the installation process of automotive over-the-air updates a quick and seamless process, no different than upgrading to the latest OS version on your iPhone. This new platform is intended to not only deliver a painless experience, but also give drivers quicker access to new functions and digital services over the lifetime of their vehicles, as car manufacturers make them available. Safety is a critical part of this plan, and stringent automotive quality standards will have to be met, a process that currently complicates vehicle software updates. I find this interesting and would love to see the engineering images of airflow. Just as a golf ball with the dimples flys faster and better through the air than a smooth golf ball with no dimples. gm has explained the front of the 2022 Bolt EUV and the pattern on the front end that gives a better airflow around the auto.

Very cool, Lucid released a video of their 22 module battery pack for EVs. BorgWarner has released their first 800V electric motor for sales / use in Commercial rated auto's. Give 400 kW of Power with 1,270 Nm of torque or 536.4 HP / 936.7 lb-ft or torque. Charged EVs | BorgWarner launches 800-volt electric motor for commercial vehicles - Charged EVs Mitsubishi Heavy Industrial Tools has been acquired by Nidec who will use the new division in production of everything that spins and moves in the EV industry. Namely they will be named Nidec-Shimpo division producing e-Axles Motors to start and will add in gearbox's and controllers. Charged EVs | Nidec to acquire Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machine Tool to support EV drive manufacturing - Charged EVs Sweden-based Volta trucks has moved forward with the Volta Zero in trials of their Inner City Commercial Delivery trucks in Europe with multiple US sourced suppliers. Proterra, the EV bus builder has committed to supply Volta with battery packs. Meritor will supply e-Axle motor units for the truck. With their funding secured and production started, it would appear that with having two major US sourced suppliers that Volta could be joining Kenworth and Arrival in the ability to supply class 6 & 7 medium duty delivery trucks. Arrival has a deal to supply UPS a 100,000 EV delivery vans in the US starting next year. They are building their factory in South Carolina. FedEx has invited multiple companies to bid in building them a Global EV delivery fleet broken out by region, EMEA, Americas, Asian and Africa. Volta readies electric trucks for Europe, with US suppliers (greencarreports.com)

Even though I am not a turbo fan, I can easily see Cadillac using this Torque motor with a proper dual scroll Turbo and higher compression to give it the top end to go with the bottom end so it scoots off the line and still runs out. I have not test drove this, but the engineering makes sense of using this motor in this manner. Have you test drove it yet?

So we have generational listing as follows: Snowflake generation - 2011-2020 Generation Z - 1996-2010 Millennials - 1977-1995 Generation X - 1965-1976 Baby Boomers - 1946-1964 Silent Generation - 1925-1945 G.I. Generation - 1900-1924 Pretty much a portion of Millennials, most of Gen Z and Snowflake Gen care less about auto's and unlike the Gen X and Baby Boomers who did get involved in auto shop, auto clubs, etc. we do not have the interest or passion from folks born from mid 90's to now which will increase the quick recycling of auto's moving society into an EV world far faster than many realize. Both of my kids and many kids their age in the mid 30's would rather have their trucks / SUVs in EV form than deal with all the liquids and other maintenance of an ICE auto. I do expect ICE to take a dirt nap in my kids lifetime!

Amazing how often Porsche are converted to a Tesla Power Train by EV West in California. Top 10 Tesla-Powered Electric Car Conversions (insideevs.com) Interesting video on what is inside a Tesla SuperCharger. Interesting take on gm and EVs. Cool read on the Icon converted 1949 Mercury which to me is totally Bad Ass. 1949 Mercury coupe goes electric with a Tesla battery pack - Electrek

Since all BlackWings will have it, I wonder how often they will get used in reality? PDR or Performance Data Recorder. I know this is from the Corvette, and I have read where people do use it there, but I wonder about here.

www.cadillac.com at least is starting off one's visit with covering their EV LYRIQ. Then the second point is selling 2021 XT4 & XT5 which is currently out of production due to parts shortage and yet a decent interest rate and cash back. INTERESTING ? Third Bullet is the V-Series Blackwing, nice and easy to find. Forth and final bullet is advertising their Virtual Show room as Cadillac has also stepped into the ring of virtual show rooms and buying via the web. What does this say about the future of showrooms? ? She is cute the Virtual salesperson.

Guess to counter the press, continued price drops by Tesla as their answer to keep sales going. $36,990 is the new starting price for a standard range basic Tesla 3 in black. Tesla reduces Model 3 and Model Y prices, now starts under $37,000 - Electrek Quote Here are the price differences for all 3 trims of the Model 3: Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus – now: $36,990 – was: $37,990 Tesla Model 3 Long Range (AWD) – now: $46,990 – was: $46,990 Tesla Model 3 Performance (AWD) – now: $55,990 – was: $54,990 Tesla also dropped the prices on their Tesla Y CUV. Here are the price differences for all 3 trims of the Model Y: Tesla Model Y Standard Range – now: $39,990 – was: $41,990 Tesla Model Y Long Range (AWD) – now: $49,990 – was: $49,990 Tesla Model Y Performance (AWD) – now: $60,990 – was: $59,990 Interesting is that they say some of the newest delivered Model Y has the updated console that is now standard in the Tesla 3 and yet the online configurator even with the new pricing does not reflect the actual console change. Tesla also has another big problem, Musk has always touted that their over the air updates keeps all models current on the same quality tech software. Yet even this story along with posts by Tesla owners shows big differences between Tesla X, S, 3 and Y. Clearly they are not able to keep all the auto's updated to the same rev so clearly some update issues too. As I have stated, great pushing and leading the industry in EV power train tech and controllers and I take nothing away from that, but the Cheapness of how Musk runs things is showing in the considerable piss poor quality of fit n finish.

Everyone knows I am an EV fan and supporter of the awesome technology. With that said, this is why I respect the power train and controller tech of Tesla, but will never own a Tesla as they build garbage. Watch This Tesla's Rear Window Fall Right Out On The Highway (insideevs.com) The owner of her new Tesla 3 has had to fight the Tesla service centers for warranty work and lucky she bought her Tesla with Sentry mode that records everything so they had to repair the window and she demanded it be done while she waited, still has other issues they cannot figure out how to fix yet. Tesla, Over rated, Over Valued as a stock and clearly, Once gm, Ford, German and Asian auto companies start delivering their choices for EVs to the market, Tesla is in Serious trouble!

Hummer has new videos on their web site. Some cool stuff on their sound. Gotta say, I am excited by the future tech that GM is bringing us in this truck and the future SUV. HUMMER EV Lead Engineer Takes Us Behind the Scenes | GMC Life Later this year we get to experience the Bose† Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement technology. ZETA 2030 did a nice writeup on how the USPS can benefit in reducing costs by going EV with the Postal delivery fleet. Focus being the small white delivery auto's in our neighborhood. Just got an email that our Austin HQ Campus is powering down and will go dark for an indefinite amount of time so that the power can go to the family homes in the area to keep everyone warm. We have been running on backup generators, but we are moving work for hardware / software projects to datacenters out of the state to allow those that can work to continue. Crazy weather in Texas.

@Drew Dowdell Lots of news stories all saying the same things about why Texas grid cannot handle the winter storm and it follows what you say, where there seems to be differences is in the grids. Saw this as the most common image. Is it pretty close to being right? Course now I am seeing this one on CNN, Bloomberg and AP.
