High performance and high handling like a CT5 V Blackwing. I dont think an Escalade V Blackwing will set the world on fire like how a Hellcat powered anything caught the world on fire. An Escalade is not thought of in that way. An Escalade was always about the bling. Not about the horsepower and how well it drifts. It WILL be a GREAT performer as Cadillac engineers have really set the bar for performance sedans. And I think Corvette engineers are also involved with Cadillac's V Series cars too. But I doubt performance geeks will be geeking how fast it is. Not like how they geek out with anything Hellcat... No, a vehicle like this is not about volume. It will be a special model, that is for sure, and they will sell everyone they build, but an Escalade V Blackwing will do nothing to move more Escalades or Cadillacs out the dealership door as the Escalade is as big of a Kahuna as is. I thought it was 455. Like the Camaro's LT1. It is detuned...

https://www.autoblog.com/2022/01/20/2023-chevy-corvette-z06-markup-price-protection/ It wasn't even two weeks ago that Ford's VP of sales for the U.S. and Canada decided he needed to tell the dealer body to stop squeezing 2022 F-150 Lightning buyers for more reservation money. The shenanigans risk alienating the very important new customers of a very important new truck. Corvette Action Center reports that now Steve Carlisle, General Motors' president for North America, has done the same thing with the Chevrolet dealer body to stop the same kinds of antics happening with the 2023 Corvette Z06. The problem according to Carlisle is "a small number of Dealers [that] have engaged in practices that do not support a positive sales experience for our customers." Those dealers who don't end such practices will risk losing their Z06 allotments. The letter identifies three unwelcome tactics. The first is dealers insisting customers pay more than the $1,000 reservation fee that GM set for the Z06. This problem is already years old, with some dealers opening up their own reservations lists in 2019, more than two years before GM announced the car. While some dealers only took $1,000 for a reservation, a dealer in New Hampshire claimed to have more than 1,300 potential buyers who had put down $2,000. The second game Carlisle wants to take down is the dreaded market adjustment, dealers having "requested customers to pay sums far in excess of MSRP in order to purchase or lease a vehicle." We're not sure what recourse GM has against this. We're sure Ford isn't happy about F-150 Lightning markups, either, but Ford specified in its letter that it wouldn't tolerate gaming the reservation system as opposed to ADMs. Carlisle insists that these methods can be "harmful to the reputation of Dealer, General Motors, or its Products," and "puts our collective interests at risk and generates negative press that reflect poorly GM's brands and your dealership." The third offense is dealers reselling vehicles to brokers; having a broker volunteer fat sums over MSRP is an easy way for a dealer to sidestep having to ask for more money. Carlisle notes that this practice is explicitly outlawed in the dealer's sales and service agreement with GM. It will be interesting to see how dealers respond. With the prodigious sums on offer, we expect some dealers will continue to explore where the line is and whether it can be nudged further into the black. Surcharges have been around as long as there have been more buyers than product, and in a market where a dealer feels justified asking a $38,000 ADM on a regular 2022 Corvette — which GM hasn't said anything about, remember — stopping all of these practices could be a mighty challenge. GM has to put up a fight, though. Just like Ford, it has additional, crucial new products arriving soon that are trying to attract crucial new audiences, and it needs to be seen doing its best to provide the best experience.

For an Escalade V? What for? Escalade doesnt need a V now either... It DOES have a 455 horsepower V8 engine in it as is. To handle the twisties? An Escalade wasnt marketed that way and it outsold and it continues to outsell everything it its class being what it is. Is it welcomed? Why sure it is. By you and by me. But not the way you put it as the Escalade and Cadillac needed this a decade ago... And about that, I dont think it a V Series Escalade will sell that many units anyhow. Just because the Escalade has never been in a situation to require high performance and high handling. In actual fact, the Escalade was always required to be the opposite of that.

LOL You asked a very selfish question. I answered in kind. My words to you were not of shaming, but of being very direct to you on a very selfish kind of thinking you have. If you feel shame, that is more on you than it is on my choice of words to you. I REALLY dont care what YOU choose to do with your own life. Its YOUR gamble. Extremely low? LOL You have NO idea how Covid will affect until you actually DO catch it. Just dont catch it. Because it maybe a gamble that you will end up regretting... The thing is, we arent even talking about that. YOU seem to want to justify it to me. I DO NOT CARE... YOU asked a question about who would care if one has been vaxxed or not. I answered you in kind. And THAT would be people with surgeries that NEED to be taken care of but cant BECAUSE hospitals have been run down with unvaxxed Covid patients... If YOU feel that these words are shaming you, that that feeling is more on you than it is on my choice of words to you...

Paid with her life... I wonder when she was taking her last breaths, did she ever think about how her husband and son felt as they saw her take her last few breaths? Sometimes, we dont think about the shyte we put our loved ones through because of our own selfish stupidity. I wonder how many times the husband and the son pleaded with her to get vaxxed. How many calm discussions and loud arguments were had since they WERE vaxxed...

I have to revisit my opinion on Electra. Which I may (or may not) course correct with my opinion on. I didnt mind Buick using their past name Electra on a future EV product. Now, Im not so sure anymore. Is it pandering for Buick to reuse this name? I have to think it is pandering. Buick retired this name because it no longer meant anything to the American public. Buick wanted to move away from it because it was a name from a bygone era. Buick wanted to reinvent itself and Electra the car and the brand no longer fit with the then future. Although it is a no brainer to use it for an EV, Buick's position in the market place has only gotten worse since Electra was last used and its brand perception today is worse off as it seems there IS no brand perception going forward. At least in 1997, Buick was an old fogey brand. Today, Buick it seem is nobody's brand... Therefore I dont think Electra will benefit Buick's image going forward with an EV. Its best that Buick try with another name. They should keep what they have now with Encore, Enclave and Envision since none of those names are offensive to anybody and the vehicles they represent are good vehicles if not memorable and invent a new name for a 4rth model. Riviera should make a comeback tho. But it better be a HALO car and it better be engineered properly to represent Buick's REAL qualities. Quiet, classy luxury that is just above understated and just below arrogant (Cadillac) that gets noticed everywhere it goes.

Although I wrote about my issue with the EV written on that rendering as a Dodge muscle car, I will agree that all OEMs have to move past the EV pandering. It is BS. That includes the names. Special naming schemes dedicated to an EV line of models like Mach-E or Cadillac's Lyriq and Celestiq or Mercedes' EQ naming scheme. They all do it. Its all stupid. Especially when they themselves have said they will end their ICE development to produce EVs. Society and they (OEMs) have moved on from the cutesy 1st phase of EVs. If EVs are to be the norm, lets actually MAKE EVs the norm...
-
I had time to digest the rendering. Not sure if its straight from Dodge or its fan-made but I would like to confirm the upvote that I gave to Balthy for saying that Dodge should evolve the Charger (and Challenger) in looks rather than just change it up completely JUST because the motive power is changing. Like he said, too much equity to piss away if they change it up. I could go for a complete change if and only if a new design language STILL says Dodge muscle machine. That rendering tells no tales of mythical MOPAR madness. Its unconvincing as MOPAR muscle car And to make sure you know its electrical, EV is written on it... That right there is a fatal flaw in my opinion. As per the video, Dodge is NOT to produce electric vehicles but to continue to build American muscle... EV shoudnt be written ANYWHERE on it and the design should have a more convincing Dodge identity to it if they decide to change the design language. I understand the grill is to emulate a '70 Charger grill And I guess it could work. The rest of the design just seems like your run-of-the mill sketch rendering. Its true that its just a single sketch and the side profile is not even showcased, so Ill just end my rant right here.

Yes...and those people clamming about "individual freedoms" forgot or dont care (more accurately) that their personal freedoms END where the other person's personal rights and freedoms begin...

The person(s) who has (have) a prior destiny with a hospital visit and needs life altering and life saving surgery due to other diseases that kill humans other than Covid such as cancer surgeries or triple by-pass surgeries but get canceled due to Covid emergencies because the doctors and nurses and all other health care workers are taking care of Covid patients... And MOST of THOSE Covid patients right NOW are the ones that are NOT vaccinated... That is WHO would care if one is vaccinated or not. I dont care if YOU are not vaxxed. But for shyte's sake... STOP being SELFISH... There are others that are living in YOUR society. YOU are NOT alone. Ill repeat, I do NOT care what YOU do. But do NOT catch Covid... Because life for YOU might NOT be the same. Its a gamble that YOU are willing to take, and THAT is OK. However, the decision that YOU took WILL affect others around you... And if YOU cant see that, I cannot help you. HOWEVER, there are SOME countries that have come to a conclusion that THIS selfish bullshyte needs to stop because health care workers be it doctors OR nurses are NOT there to get sick or get traumatized or put in a position to choose who gets to live and who gets to die JUST because someone got MISINFORMED about a vaccine... Ill repeat, I am NOT here to TEACH you about vaccines. I am NOT here to shame you about being vaxxed or NOT being vaxxed. I am not here to tell you about nothing other than: There are COUNTLESS of serious and much needed surgeries being canceled because of Covid. THESE people need NOT suffer MORE than they have to. NOBODY forced them into THAT position... Catch my drift? Unvaxxed folk are the ones that are putting the healthcare system at risk. Since the beginning.... Obviously because in the beginning, there were NO vaccines. But now that we have vaccines... Health care workers be it doctors OR nurses are NOT there to get sick or get traumatized or put in a position to choose who gets to live and who gets to die. Did ANYBODY ask if it was FAIR for doctors and nurses and all other healthcare workers to work CRAZY amount of hours SAVING our UNVAXXED asses? How about when THESE healthcare workers ahve gotten sick FROM Covid and some of those have died? Did YOU ask if healthcare workers care if YOU were vaxxed or not? Did YOU ask YOURSELF or others that got sick from Covid and were NOT vaxxed if it was FAIR for them to put all those people at risk? Huh? So...when you ask a tone deaf question like that...you get a in-your-face response... But Ill repeat, I do NOT care if YOU are vaxxed or not... Just do NOT get Covid... YOUR life might NOT be the same as it was before Covid... (Gamble with your life? Its YOUR life...) And if YOU happen to get sick, so sick that you need tubes going in your lungs... remember the shyte question YOU just asked and remember THIS post... And if YOU never get sick because you NEVER caughht Covid... GREAT!!! But remember, Covid for some was a gamble...but some of those guys...they LOST... And STILL remember THIS post BECAUSE YOU are NOT alone in society and the selfish decisions you choose does affect people around you...

I noticed that as well. And...I kinda like it. It seems louder than Tesla's Model S but the whine itself seems to have more "presence" as well. I saw the movie Gattaca with my daughter a couple of days ago so I could help her with a school research paper she has. And in the movie, there are some classic cars that are EVs and the noise these cars make in the movie strangely resembles the actual EV whine the Lucid makes.

As a Cowboys fan...all I wanna say, because its been too long of a time since I actually could say it with pride, but somehow saying it in shame works just as well THIS time around.

Hey..it IS Saturday night. Its 10:00 PM. I was probably getting ready to go clubbing right about now on a Saturday night back in 1994... Let me bring back 1994!!!

Sadly, I never got to dance to that disco track back in '77. I sooooo would have loved to. Drivin' up to Studio '54 in either of these... However, I did dance to THIS track back in '94. while I drove up to many dance clubs all around the Montreal area in this and in this after I totaled the one above. (Both not my actual cars, but both are exactly how mine were)

A new measure has been implemented on TOP of the "heath contribution" aka tax on the vaccinated by the 24rth. In order to shop non-essential products, one must be vaccinated with 3 shots and to show proof of vaccination. On the 13th for alcohol and cannabis stores. On the 24rth the rest of the non-essential businesses. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/quebec-to-require-three-shots-for-adequate-protection-those-who-got-covid-19-urged-to-get-boosted-sooner-1.5737464

Kinda sucks that the Saturn was delivered to you like that. But, it could be a satisfying model if you fix 'er up again, possibly modifying it making it personal.

I had answered it, but I will also post a link to what @David articulated better than what I said. Please read it if you are really really interested to know why the "health contribution" aka tax on the unvaccinated is made. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/quebecs-doctors-nurses-seeing-ers-090000569.html Dr. Joseph Dahine, an intensive care specialist at Laval's Cité de la Santé hospital, said COVID-19 patients in his hospital can be divided into two general categories. The first is unvaccinated individuals, many between 30 and 60, who were previously healthy. The other group of patients is older, mostly over 70, with two doses of vaccine, and who often come in with existing health problems. Nearly two years into the pandemic, Melanie Jade Boulerice, an ER nurse at a Montreal hospital, said the protocols have improved and so has the understanding of how to care for patients. But she said the workload has taken a toll. "There's a high level of burnout. There's turnover," she said. Friedman described the "sheer volume of cases" as "overwhelming." Hidden cost of delaying crucial care The INSPQ, the province's public health research institute, released a report Thursday that projected hospitalizations had reached their peak or would do so in the coming days. Still, the strain on the health-care system and the shortage of staff has made for major challenges. Already, many regions have reached the highest level of alert — meaning surgeries and other crucial forms of medical care have been cancelled.

Is this reality really sad though? That GM is no longer the go to OEM for mediocre vehicles anymore? That Walmart type of consumers no longer shop for GM vehicles anymore? That GM no longer produces mediocre products that Walmart type of consumers crave for? Because 40-50 years ago, General Motors gave us some really bad stinkers that were engineered to the lowest common denominator meant for big volume. And what did that do? Ironically, it made lots lots of Americans mad to never touch an American car again which ironically, these very same pissed off Americans are buying mediocre shyte from Japan... Guys, be freakin' happy that GM is building some quality cars again! Engineering is top notch and so is build quality. What is sad in my opinion, is that some Americans are NOT buying and supporting GM that builds a waaaay better product than Toyota which is a very very lesser product than GM's. Now THAT is SAD.

Id also give you an upvote on that. Im glad that you made yourself MORE clear because whether we like it or not, we ALL judge this situation we are all in with Covid. Im glad you are not so blind and have made a clear cut division on vaccines. I didnt think you were. But I did judge. Hard not to these days. But it all goes back to my INTIAL post... just wanted to make it clear that Covid does NOT discriminate between young and old. Fit or unfit. It really is how YOUR own personal experience and how YOUR body will react to Covid that is REALITY...

I see that. With the advent of these shytty electrical cars, how can ANYBODY be be passionate about cars anymore???!!! OOPSIES. I see that you own not one, but TWO of these Tesler cars.. I like Telsa. I just dont like Elon. I like EVs. My next car will probably be an EV... lets just see what everybody else will bring to the table... AWESOME!!! I have a 73 or 74 car collection scale 1/18 (always forget how many I got) diecast cars. OK...Im lying. One of those is a resin model. 2015 Hellcat Challenger by GT Spirit. Waiting for the Z06 C8 to come out to complete and end the collection once and for all. Hopefully by Autoart if they make one. Ill have to settle for a resin Stingray from GT Spirit I think it is if no-one makes a Z06. I used to have over 100 of them. Collection was too big. Its kinda too big now. Hope you stick around. I have lurked and read your past posts in here so you are not a stranger to me as I am to you.

@ccap41 And its NOT just the seatbelts. Speed limits. Speed limits are not JUST for CAFE... ABS brakes. Traction control. Airbags. All kinds of other types of crash avoidance systems... There are some that wants us to start heading in an autonomous driving world... But let me tell YOU about numbers since you are such the poker player. FROM the CDC. The SAME link you were PROUDLY fond of showing ME how insignificant 15 000 deaths are for Covid for ages between 30-39... https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html Curious as to why these low numbers dont happen to be on your radar... If you are going by a "chances are" type of decision: But like I said
