  1. That sounds like it is most likely an engine limitation rather than a frame limitation..... the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel is rated for about 7,500. Actually it's a Gross Vehicle Weight thing. Rams 1500 are heavy ( High Curb Weight and low GVW rating ). When measured against their GVW, they have low payload ratings, which hurt tow ratings. They all go hand in hand. PUTC had a good write up on it recently and used a Ram 1500 as their example. I'll see if I can find it.
  2. " At its best, the 2016 Titan can tow 12,314 pounds and handle 2,091 pounds of payload. Yes, that means the Titan XD can tow more than any of its half-ton peers, but just barely. The Ford F-150, when properly equipped, has a maximum tow rating of 12,200 pounds, which is within spitting distance of the Titan XD. That same Ford has a maximum payload rating of 3,270 pounds, which is far and away higher than the Titan XD's max rating. Chevy's latest Silverado 1500 and its GMC Sierra twin can tow 12,000 pounds and boast payload ratings of 2,060, again bumping up very close to that of the Titan XD. The great equalizer in the towing and payload ratings game is curb weight. In its lightest configuration, which not coincidentally is the one that its max tow and payload ratings are derived from, the Titan XD weighs 6,709 pounds, and its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating comes in at 8,800 pounds. Subtract the former from the latter and you've got max payload. Put simply, the Titan XD is a truck of titanic weight. The F-150 we're comparing it to rolls in with a base curb weight of 4,489 pounds, thanks in no small part to its aluminum bodywork These numbers are for the base, two-wheel-drive Titan S. But here's the bad news: each step up the ladder – from S to SV, SL, and finally Platinum Reserve – brings with it a commensurate step down in towing and payload headroom. Adding four-wheel drive to the base Titan XD lowers the max tow rating to 12,038 pounds and has a similar effect on payload. In its most luxurious, leather-lined form, the Titan XD Platinum Reserve 4x4 can tow 10,608 pounds and has a payload rating of 1,470 pounds. In an effort to make a comparison to the highest-rated half-ton we could find, a 2016 Ford F-150 King Ranch Super Crew with a 6.5-foot bed, four-wheel drive, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and six-speed automatic transmission is rated to tow 11,700 pounds and has a payload rating of 2,060 pounds, both better than the Titan XD Platinum Reserve. 3. What? How are they even relatable? Since when are sales reflective or critical to the award? And the 2015 F-150 did win TOTY. Google is an ally. In what publication? At MotorTrend, the 2015 Truck of the year was the Chevrolet Colorado. The last time the F-150 won MT Truck of the Year was 2012. 2015 - Chevy Colorado 2014 - Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 2013 - Ram 1500 2012 - Ford F-150 2011 - Chevrolet Silverado HD 2010 - Ram HD 2009 - Ford F-150 Truck Trend. Motor Trends TRUCK publication. Not the publication we're talking about. And I didn't see F-150 as the thread topic either. Yet someone dragged it in. So I mentioned it's TOTY win.

  6. There's a fellow on another site saying " Camaro didn't win, Ed Loh said on Persiscope. "
  7. Mustang Sales YTD - 106,321 Camaro Sales YTD - 66,833 Since its rebirth, the Camaro has never hit 100k.
  8. What type of " crap " was Ford talking? ...it's time to hit the streets of Chuckwalla Valley Raceway before Randy Pobst does his hot lap. "I don't think anybody who buys a Shelby GT350 will be disappointed. It delivers," commented Pobst while behind the wheel. And to give the new model some perspective, Pobst also did a hot lap in a Dodge Charger Pursuit, which was just over 15 seconds slower than the new Shelby. http://www.nasaaz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/track.jpg
  9. And none of those are track times. That is my point. You're blowing this Camaro SS out of proportion UNTIL there is an actual comparison made available. ZL1 is not an SS, which you are comparing to the Shelby. So the resale of the ZL1 is pointless in this GT350/SS comparison. Based on your logic, if these numbers are "too close for comfort" why buy a Stingray? Why buy ANYTHING other than a Camaro SS because it is the best bang for your dollar? Right? That is basically what you're saying. 3.9 to 60mph is legitimately FAST. So why buy a car that can do it in 3.5? Would that not be "too close for comfort"? I mean a base Stingray runs 3.9 to 60mph, 1/4 mile in 12.2@118. Why buy it? Because it has the ability to hold 0.04g sustained? No, it has to be because of the brakes. The Vette stops ~15ft shorter than the Camaro. So, for $20,000 you car a car that has better brakes, and less interior room over the Camaro SS. Why buy it? Is it perhaps more than just the sum of those numbers that make it a great car? Absolutely. You're putting so much stock into a few numbers and riding those numbers to the grave high atop your clydesdale. Your post makes to much sense.
  10. Well if its not your problem, why poke your nose in? Why keep whining?
  11. Well there isn't a 1LE version, is there? There isn't a GT500 yet either but that didn't stop you commenting on that thread did it? Was that not a thread about a possible GT500 right? How dare one talk about a possible GT500 in a thread about a possible GT500. And this here thread is about the GT350, right? Now pay special attention to what YOU said. "Well there isn't a 1LE version, is there?" And the I said there isn't a GT500 either. Now based on that fact, why can he not bring up a car that isn't here yet when you did the exact same thing? The answer is he can. Why would even say what you said about the 1LE? The answer is because you were trolling him. I cant believe my eyes. Here we have a troll complaining about me talking about a possible GT500 in a thread DEDICATED to that possible GT500.

  13. Whats a mike drop? Are you meaning " mic ", as in microphone? As I drop the mic...
  14. Well there isn't a 1LE version, is there?
  15. The GT350/350R is one ( two? ) awesome car! Love it, love it, love it!
  16. Randy Savage: wrestling entrepreneur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYCQnzqMjvM RIP Macho Man. I can dig that.
  17. And that tale told here about GM Market Share increase was a what then?Maybe you missed the above part where GMs retail sales growth far exceeded Fords and as a result their profits have increased as well, hence me saying that they are going the Ford route. You should be taking that as a compliment but of course it appears that went right over your head. Maybe you missed the part where ' the tale told here about GM's Market Share increase was what then?' It appears that went right over your head. So you did not read the article at all. Thanks for confirming that because I never said one thing about market share prior. That's you trying to put words in my mouth. Now head on back over to the 2017 GT500 thread so that you and your buddy can keep each other company and work on those up votes. Oh, that's right. You ran outa votes for the day. Oh well. You do realize you have no authority to tell other where to post, and what and whatnot to post, right? So how about that tale one here weaved about GM Market Share grow? Pretty hilarious one could make up such a blatant lie when one can easily search, don't you think?

  19. Maybe in Bizarro World... $1.4b ( GM ) vs $1.9b ( Ford ). Funny you should put it that way, because I was using the same thought process that wings used here:http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/85823-47-grand-0-60-in-46-mt-tests-mustang-gt-pp/page-6 ...post #103, to be precise. Now THAT'S a logical thought process, eh But good on you for mocking thought processes like that. I'm sure your buddy would agree. :D Very constructive dragging a locked thread here.
  20. All I'll say is I found that while cruising another enthusiast site. Someone there posted an article about Oct 2015 up 12% for the industry vs 2014.
  21. Actually that's KBB. And they show Market Share from Oct 2014 to Oct 2015 Ford + .6% GM - .3% FCA +/- .0% And to think just the other day here I was reading someone crowing about GM's Market Share increase. Yet the truth of the matter is they've lost MS.
