  1. Taking a point from FOG- I don't tend to believe everything I hear in the news. The story changes just about daily... Now, will they sell more? Maybe. But I wouldn't bet the farm on it either. I find that funny that you call me a cheerleader. I guess you don't read my posts much then. I have a healty dose of both. It is simply time for some changes-whether they are good or bad.
  2. Ok, you have some people. Point taken. The problem you are going to find is that there is no one who is going to want to replace Rick. Would you take a loaded gun if it was handed toyou? I can understand why you think that- but we are still talking more than one issue here. It is not just a front office problem. It goes a little deeper than that...
  3. Very cool... How many miles do you put on it when you had it? I know a few people who had them when I was in school, even when this one guy abused the heck out of his (wanted a new car), but he couldn't kill it off... I think I'm just afraid it will die on me, but as in today's nasty weather (snow), it ran pretty good for the parts it needs.... I still see quite a few 91-94 Cavs out there, still going....
  4. So very true...
  5. I think he needs to worry about the product his company....the one that sells cars first, don't you think? A big part of GMAC is gone, oh well. We could cry about it, or just I'm more concerned how they to fix the product, their bank account, and their K Mart image.....
  6. Unless you can find a better guy (or someone ballsy enough to try) let me know. Rick is not just the problem-it is GM as a whole. Why not just Burn GM to ground? That would be a better idea.... Change is coming...don't worry your little head about that one.....
  7. Well, look at the product, that should explain everything... How about hitting the heart of the matter, Eh?
  8. Are the plans laid out in front of you? How the hell do you know??! Even Gm doesn't know what they are going to do....until it is done. You should know GM better than that.
  9. Reading that makes me feel better about fixing my car....
  10. Hmmm..good point. Most of the cars I've been loking at fall in about the 4-5 grand range... (focus, Neon, Prism, etc..) Maybe a few hundred bucks would be cheaper.... Hoping to by a house in the near future... I thinking the wagon may just have to get some work done....
  11. Hmmm...Going to give it a try.. I live by a few autozones... It's hard to catch that light though....
  12. You have to have faith, my friend. I don' think they will sell everything though....
  13. Let me put this to you plain and simple: If GM can't make money selling cars, then they shouldn't even be in business. It would be like trying to cut through your bull**it for facts. There is nothing wrong with selling your money makers when things are rough. It is not like GM couldn't dip into the next big thing ( like real estate ) I would be a lot less worried about growing the business, they need to worry about saving it. GM needs to get back to making cars again. Period. I'm not blind. I just use common sense......
  14. I forgot to add the type-Napa plugs and wires....
  15. It got plugs and wires about 8k miles or so... As far as the 3rd one- can it want to slow down as well? (instead of speeding up) I noticed as I do a bit of stop and go in traffic (speed up and slow down) with will throw the check engine light on, sometimes it will stay on, other times it won't. A new map sensor improved everything for a while, but things went back down hill pretty fast....so I'm figure its something bigger, like the EGR...
  16. Yep, a Cavalier (run!) A 93 with the 3.1 (great engine) with 135k on it... It suffered though a nasty winter... Though you do make a good point... It seems I've done quite a bit of updating too...map sensor, fuel pump, tires, plugs, wires, trans service, fuel filter to name a few...
  17. As I was reading about the death of the Park Ave, it got me to wonder what to do with my beater. Its been a good car. The engine and trans run strong (really shows on its good days) It just seems to have fuel issues. It has no pickup, idles quite rough, pretty bad milage(which could be fixed) Parts looking to be replaced: Fuel leak-tiny-right between back tires. Looks like a gas tank replacement.... As above, looks like a new EGR.... And a new hose connect to the rad...... She's rusty, but not too bad (bottom of doors, rocker panels, bottom of hatch) 13 midwesterm winters will do that to a car... If I do it, I can get help to cut the labor costs down...and I would be ok with spending 500 bucks or so to make it very road worthy... What do you guys think? I want to keep it, but it is a tough call....
  18. I'm wss just wondering what I should be looking for if my EGR is going... The car lacks pickup, idles rough, and is getting SUV gas milage..... It seems that I'm replacing a good piece of the fuel system...as I have already replaced the MAP sensor, and fuel pump, fuel filter.... Help...please.... 93 Cav, 3.1, 135k....
  19. I'm surprised about the Olds... Not so much about the Shadow. I was quite surprised when I saw one just hit a light post, and it just drove away.....
  20. Agreed. Montes are pretty tough cars too...I see a few take a beating, and just keep going..
  21. When your job requires a lot of driving it does.
  22. I think between 1000-1200 down would make a better deal...
  23. Yep, love that 4.3.... Now I miss my s-10...
