  1. The use of nuclear power is likely to be a cornerstone in a hydrogen economy. Creating hydrogen through electrolysis doesn't make any sense - why would you make electricity to split water to make hydrogen to make electricity, unless it's for portability? Nuclear processes allow for the superheating of water until it splits, not from electrolysis, but simply from the heating. The only other method of hydrogen production I've heard that makes any sense is algae farms, and I have my doubts about their ability to meet capacity requirements.
  2. I wasn't suggesting that they tried to copy the neon or anything, just some resemblance. Would be interested to see that matiz pic, though.
  3. They weren't curved that much. It'd have to be fun over picture quality (not quality in the aspect of high definition, but just in viewing angle - there's a reason people are going to flat screen). I could see doing something where you sit in the middle of a screen that curves around you, though, as mentioned before.
  4. I dunno - seems like it'd be crappy to have the picture curving away from you. Not sure it'd be great for home theatre.
  5. I think he meant useless from a consumer standpoint, as opposed to commercial. Just do the reverse, where you stand in the middle and it surrounds you. X-Box 3!
  6. A) they can't hear you 2) the show is probably pre-recorded III) don't worry - I'd yell at them too!
  7. Better than a re-used/mis-used classic name.
  8. Anyone else catching a hint of Neon from those headlights?
  9. Seemed pretty clear to me that they had 2 MAJOR reasons for not naming it Grand Am. 1) Too many people have had crappy Grand Am's, and it's a tarnished image. 2) Alphanumeric car names are popular. Might be crappy, but that's how the market is. We all have preferences. I wish Saturn would stop naming it's cars in ALL CAPS.
  10. Look at the location - the car is IN China. Good luck getting it here. BTW, I read that GM won a lawsuit with Chery, and if/when they are brought over here, they will NOT be called Chery. GM sued because it sounded too much like Chevy.
  11. But it's a 1988. *rolls eyes* This dealer can't describe a car worth crap.
  12. Some of my pet peeves have been touched on, but they largely have to do with car maintenance and repair. The burnt out brake lights are a great example. Also, mis-aligned headlights, so that the regular lights are extra bright. If people constantly flash their brights at you, and you don't have your brights on - check your headlight alignment! (most of your probably aren't guilty of this, but hey, I'm venting). :)
  13. It seems like they're trying to do this series along the lines of the Lord of the Rings series. I would think they wouldn't need to make as many changes to make it fit the time, though. I don't recall the Narnia books being quite as detailed and drawn out as I've heard the Lord of the Ring books described.
  14. Seems like a good idea, but there would certainly have to be changes in different parts of the world. Since the US has among the most stringent pollution controls in the world, they'd probably need to trade off cleanliness for fuel economy in other parts of the world.
  15. Looks good, but how much do they/we know about the '08 malibu to base a sketch off of?
  16. ...and it's obvious whoever came up with that, had this in mind... It is the same company, after all. As for the top concept, what's with the constant LA references? And dispite how wonderful they make it sound, it's still going to be tiny compared to even a small real house, and half the stuff doesn't look functional enough to be worth what it'd cost. Still, it's great GM has people dreaming big from time to time.
  17. Not liking the exterior as much as the current version. Looks like the current version ate too much and got plump.
  18. There a deadline on this? Would love to go, but not sure I can (may have to work on directed project during that time frame. :P)
  19. Have to be a registered user to see the whole thing, and I don't want to register. Just one Q: what do they currently make there?
  20. I'm not sure color changing and illumination are that related. One concept relates to how the material absorbs or reflects radiation, the other requires producing radiation. The idea is neat, though. Could make for some really neat (or really bland) cars. :)
  21. have A/C ducting behind certain parts of the paint so you could turn on/off paint strips and accents when you wanted to... :D "you saw a car the same color as mine speeding? Did it look exactly like mine? I mean, I've seen a car around that looks kinda like mine, but it's got graphics and stuff all over it..." lol Actually, since people who drive dangerously usually tick me off, this wouldn't be the best use of the technology. Interesting to think about though, I guess. *shrug* It's late...
  22. I'm still not buying it totally. I followed the links to the saturnfans site, and the guy doesn't give credentials. I might have to dig further to see if he gives them in another thread, but having an engineer mutter something about something being "shelved" may or may not mean much.
