  1. Good Lord! When did Saturn become a luxury brand? The new pair of vehicles look fantastic! Saturn sure has grown up into something beautiful!
  2. This is making me a little nervous for our old friend Camaro. Also, and even more off topic, I saw my first G6 GT coupe the other day in black. It was way ahead of me on the freeway and I thought I was looking at some kind of tricked out Infiniti G35 coupe or something. I was blown away when I realized it was a Pontiac. Wow! Really amazing looking! I'm reasonably satisfied with the Aura pic. Can't wait to see more. Like others have said, I'm praying that the RL version will look just like the Vectra...

    H3 vs. FJ

Thing looks like an Isuzu Amigo. And no, that's not a compliment.
  4. Do you have a link for this article? I'd like to share it with some friends. Thanks!
  5. Thank you. Now I don't have to type this. Also, Chrysler paid nearly $20M for it's placements in The Island. (cool movie. too bad for chrysler, the "must-have" vehicle in the film was a Caddy, not a dodge....)
  6. I remembered this car as a lot uglier than it is. Has it been tweaked since the original pcitures were released? I really like the back end! I wish I could have the CTS front end and the BTS reaar. Perfect....
  7. Exactly, just as fuel cell vehicles exist today, just in very limited use.
  8. The interenet was a 'pipe dream' 25 years ago. That doesn't change the fact that the net and fuel cell technology has/will change the world.
  9. I agree. These hybrids seem like a pretty pathetic bandaids for the real problem. Fuel cell technology should really change the world. I hope GM gets the big score with this technology.
  10. And how does Mercedes factor into this logic?
  11. Wow, Caddy and Buick giving both Toyota and Honda the smackdown. Very nice!!
  12. Sorry If already posted.... Kerkorian Calls for Drastic GM Overhaul The Daily Auto Insider Thursday, January 12, 2006 January 2006 Jerome York, investor Kirk Kerkorian's top lieutenant, urged General Motors to speed up and expand its restructuring, The Wall Street Journal reported. York, an adviser to Kerkorian's Tracinda Corp., which owns 7.8% of GM, said GM should immediately do the following: Cut its $2 a share annual dividend in half to save $566 million a year; cut pay significantly for top executives and directors; drop salaries for lower-level employees; trim GM's lineup of more than 80 U.S. models; and get rid of the Saab and Hummer brands to focus on core, high-volume brands. "This situation calls for the company's going into crisis mode, adopting a degree of urgency that recognizes if things don't break right, the unthinkable could happen," York said.
  13. Covettes and Camaros have shared engines throughout most of Camaro's production. Of course most recently the LS1 and the LT1. Besides the SSR, GTO and CTS-V already have this engine too, why not Camaro? I'm very happy to see it being said that it will be a 6.0L V8 with 400 horsepower (LS2 probably) and not some concept engine. It just means that it is all that much more feasable and quick to production. Now for the SS version.... LS7?????
  14. You're right. Toyota is now the Temp Agency of the Automotive World. Use and abuse, and then cut and run as soon as things look grim.
  15. These are the very points that Michael Moore tries to make that show how very little he knows about these subjects. Any time GM (or any other company) are in the processes of devoloping new product, they have ALL of the competition on hand. They drive them, tear them apart, reverse engineer them, race them, and compare them right along side with the current project. They track them, abuse them, haul and tow with them, all to ensure that the new product meets or exceeds the competition. Every company does this. It's ridiculous for Moore to spout out this nonsense. Secondly, Who cares that Iraq didn't attack us? That's never been a requisite for war. Did Germany Attack us in WW2? We fought them for years before we turned our attentions to Japan. Did Britain attack us before the Revolution? Did Iraq attack us before the Gulf War? Do you have to wait for somebody to kill your family before your attack them?
  16. Moderators, I hope that this is the proper place for this article. Please move if necessary. This is my first post here. I've been lurking for months now. Great Place. I work as a stock broker and this just came through as 'relevant' GM financial news on the wires. GM is not perfect. Bush is not perfect. They both have many faults. I personally like them both. The REASONS that Moore gives for not liking either just makes me laugh for hours. In my opinion he does not have a logical bone in his body. Rarely do any of his arguments point to solid fact, but rather appeal only to flawed emotional misconceptions. Here's the article: Filmmaker Michael Moore Breaks Silence (Speaks out against GM plant closings and Bush Administration) Tue Nov 22 17:37:22 2005 EST FLINT, Mich., Nov 22, 2005 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- In his first interview in a year, Academy award winning filmmaker Michael Moore spoke out today on Supertalk1570 WWCK AM radio in Flint, Michigan. Appearing live on the Dave Barber Show, Moore blasted GM for their announcement of plant closings in the United States, including a factory in Moore's hometown of Flint, Michigan. "It's weirdly ironic that it's 19 years today, when I first thought of doing a film about General Motors," stated Moore. "Still after all these years GM continues this unfortunate behavior," he added. Moore believes the timing of the announcement, just before the holidays, was intended to "paralyze" the employees, so they could not "climb out of their depression" to fight back! Moore went on to blame the current GM leadership for their claimed $4 billion revenue loss. Moore questioned, "Has any GM executive in the last 30 years even bothered to take a Honda or Toyota for a drive around the block?" Referencing the fact that maybe those in charge would realize the qualities consumers are looking for, in their foreign counterparts. "This arrogance and stupidity," Moore commented has led the company to near economic ruin. Moore went on to say, "General Motors leadership has turned the American dream into the American nightmare!" Moore, who has refused all media interviews in recent months, appeared exclusively on the Dave Barber show, heard each weekday from 9:00 AM - Noon. Barber, a veteran news talker received a call from Moore just minutes before the impromptu live appearance. Moore, troubled by what has happened in Flint and other industrial areas, wanted to break his silence. Moore didn't stop with GM plant closings. He used this 60-minute radio appearance to also sharply criticize the Bush administration on a wide range of issues, particularly the war in Iraq. Moore made no apology for his controversial statements on Oscar night when he professed that the Bush administration had plunged the US into a "fictitious war." Moore continued his attack by calling President Bush "Embarrassing and frightening." Dave Barber has three times been selected by Talkers Magazine as one of the counties Top 100 Talk Show Hosts. Even he was surprised by this last minute appearance from Moore. "When Michael walks in your studio, people tend to take notice," Barber said. SOURCE Cumulus Broadcasting, Inc.
