  2. Going up to Lake Tahoe last weekend, I was able to marvel (for the umpteenth time) at its dramatic beauty. The fact that it could snow at a moment's notice and one would have to chain up put me in an "eh" mood. I was thinking: "there's no way I could live up here." Today, I was cleaning up and looking at post cards I collect. The common denominator: at least 95% of them are beach or port scenes. Besides, granolas and ex-hippies take refuge in mountain towns. They don't gravitate to the beach as readily. That being said, if I had to pick "beach" or "mountains" to hang my hat year round, it would be "beach." What about you?
  3. Have you ever noticed that REALLY fat people are either really nice or really nasty? What's up with that?
  4. well, it's parched desolate desert versus crumbling buildings... My response to thread: Farmington Hills (I once knew a CAP - Catholic American Princess - from there)
  5. Salton Sea, CA ("Google it," it's a veritable $h! hole)
  6. I always found the "every division of GM" V8 format interesting, keeping the aficionados on their toes. C / B / O / P: (? means I don't know if that division offered a variant) 454 / ? / 455 / ? ? / ? / 403 / 400 350 / 350 / 350 / 350 (this one I know) 305 / na / 307 / 301 (this one I know) 267 / na / 260 / 265 (this one I know) Balthazar, I always though Oldsmobile Rockets ruled the roost in the longevity department. I presume the PMD engines had better performance stats, though, that's why I am bolding up the parts of your quote I don't understand. Also, I remember that the PMD V8 engines had better access to spark plugs and Chevy V8 engines had the worst. Olds V8s were only a problem behind the AC compressor. I've seen RWD Olds Rocket V8s w/o A/C and they make for a "nice" and workable engine compartment. Ok, back to fruits, cum, "Sex and the City" and reproduction...
  7. I saw the title of this thread and all I could think of is that rancid grammar school joke: Q: What is the nuns' favorite exercise? A: Deep knee-bends in the cucumber patch. Please pray for me, especially you PCS, being that you frequent Latin Mass. My answer is the elliptical cross-trainer. About 30 minutes + another 10 on an inclined treadmill = 500 calories. That's a Big Mac, though I don't eat burgers any more. I know HOW to swim. But I feel beat after 5 to 10 laps. On an elliptical, or biking outside, I can keep going much longer. Never understood that....

  10. More so than a tech-y, you look like someone who might chip away at marble to make statues in Carrara.
  11. Not calling you on it because you didn't invent it, but the term "starter marriage" makes me cringe. At least, if they got out with no kids, then they can look back and say "whew." It's also so reminiscent of those jaded and calloused "Sex and the City" snatches...you find those types in NY, LA or SF. Yeah, they have the female plumbing but they're as tough as, or tougher than, guys and have a "notch on the lipstick case" mentality. I can't stand kids and have never wanted any, neither my own nor someone else's. How did this thread derail? Wasn't this all about food? And then how foods changed the ejaculate? Isn't it pineapple, kiwi, strawberries and all that stuff that sits at the beginning or ending of the buffet or brunch line? Moltie: I like that LeMans variant in your current sig...75 to 77? Which powerplant?

  15. Yeah, there was a drunk guy on the overnight train to the Algarve in '97 calling out the stations between Evora and Tunes OVER AND OVER...a friend of yours? Response to thread: hospital

  18. This is tougher than the tobacco issue. Tobacco is inherently bad for you. We have to have food and water. That someone can't regulate it is a self-control thing. Some people are fat as teenagers and fat as adults. Some are thin/normal and morph into fat people. Very few go the other way. Metabolism changes. I used to be always be about 10 lbs. underweight as a teenager. I am now anywhere from 5 to 12 lbs. overweight at any given time. We can't dictate metabolism, stress levels, body chemistry, etc. We can, however, tax the hell out of tobacco, alcohol and beer, none of which are even necessary. Maybe we can put a height/weight test at the entrance to buffets. Those are my nemesis. However, some people shouldn't even be allowed near one.
  19. My sympathy goes out to you, your Gradmother and all of your family for your loss, especially at a time when the holidays are at hand and you are wrapping up a semester of school. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I was moved that you had such positive thoughts about your Grandfather and how he shaped your life. That will be a source of strength and inspiration for you. God bless all of you at this time.

  23. hot tub We had this earthy outside consultant lady that would do some minor work for us...some of the guys used to muse "Hot tubs, Big Sur and free love" (amongst ourselves and while having lunch somewhere)
