  1. Ok, I go home tomorrow but I have been in Florida and Atlanta for the last 2 weeks. I've seen Enclaves on the road, in parking lots and at the dealerships. Kudos for the great workmanship and packaging. However, this vehicle is way too rounded, bulbous and has not much going for it in the way of sleekness. I absolutely detest the pillar behind the rear passenger door and the rear storage area. I'm sure that it will be a fine vehicle and that some will definitely like it. I hope it does well because Buick (and GM) can use all the victories they can muster. However, this is a car I would NOT buy if this were my segment. Your poll opinion and any comments?
  2. Exactly. That means "Palmer" method penmanship as taught by the nuns! That is, if you went to Catholic school. That is pretty much how I write...very clean and very legible.

  4. You're nuts! That's hilarious.Seriously, some guys have hips (minor curvature) as the femur meets the groin/midsection and it might look like there is some sway going on. Then others have no side curvature, so there is no swaying. Fortunately, the no-curve group in my case. Is this really proven? What about neat handwriting for instance? Americans don't view it positively while Europeans (at least Italians) don't associate that with masculinity and feminity.

  6. First question I ask whenever Brazil is mentioned -- what about crime rate statistics? Especially as you go north toward Recife and Natal? OUCH.
  7. sex reassignment surgery the new politically correct name for it Best name was a chick named Rotunda working at a McDonald's in Roswell (ATL) Georgia when I last lived there. Me: Are you from Charlottesville, VA...you know, Jefferson's Rotunda? Girl: No, my Daddy, he like that name...

  9. Don't get too verruckt on the autobahn as all those Krauts will be looking at your GM car thinking it's lustig. No on-line translator here; 3 days in Munich in July convinced me I wouldn't be interested in furthering my knowledge. And if you see an "eine gros schwarze frau" walking down some street somewhere in the EU, I hope you will think of me and I'm seriously worried for ocnblu...he may start having PCS withdrawals. Ciao, bello!
  10. I'm doing a relocation investigation trip right now to ATL and Florida. I made it a point to spend 3 days in the Panhandle on the Gulf. It's pointless to think about living there in terms of career and sophistication, because it offers not much else than a stunning seashore. Now, if I didn't have to work.... In the U.S., I'd live somewhere on the water on the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola FL In Europe, I'd live in a small coastal village in Northern Portugal What about other C&G-ers, if work and school and other obligations weren't a concern?

  12. Agree...totally. It has changed everything and nothing can be taken for granted. It was the eeriest day in my life, but that's what those pricks wanted. I remember that it was a cool and overcast day in Nor Cal when I woke up and was commuting to work, as all of my preset stations were broadcasting this instead of music. I don't think our standard of living and basic propensity for progress will change, but we will have to look over our shoulder in a different kind of way. Like the bumper sticker says: "Never forget." We can't afford to.

  15. A special caveat is the ultra-critical 405 (San Diego Freeway) which makes a sweep slightly inland around the westside/coastal part of LA. At any time of the day, it seems to be gridlocked between the airport and the Westside of LA. They are tearing it up and adding several lanes on each side and better ramps, but it is definitely jammed up. The Ventura Freeway 101 across the bottom part of the Valley also suffers, but typically during rush hour. Can't vouch for other main thoroughfares since I didn't use them much when I lived there.

  18. OK --- Las Vegas: The Strip at night, mostly between LV Boulevard/Spring Mountain down to LV Boulevard/Tropicana - above that, it gets skanky and below that, there's not much pedestrian activity. A good buffet is at The Mirage, it's in the low $ 20s. You might day trip it to Hoover Dam (about 20 miles). Just pick one show. Do not go too far east of the strip (not east of Paradise and definitely don't hang around UNLV or Maryland Parkway, it's gross). Your weather ought to be good in about 1 month. Los Angeles: If you see this city wrong, you may write it off. The Westside: Sunset Boulevard from Hollywood and West Hollywood through Beverly Hills and out to the Beach, from there you can turn north to Malibu and then return to Santa Monica. Cheesy sights include the Chinese Theater and the Studios. This area is where LA's "people in the spotlight" live. The South Bay is a great spot and includes Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach...at astonishing prices for cracker boxes. This is where people who are successful but prefer a laid-back lifestyle, but don't want to be too visible, live. Most tourists don't go here, but it is considered a great spot by those of us who grew up here. And you can see my high school as your plane lifts off from LAX...I always look for it and can see it. Do you have 1 day for a day trip? Try Santa Barbara (95 miles or 150 km north, along the coast) OR Laguna Beach/Newport Beach (60 miles or 100 km south), but both are NOT doable in such a short span. Enjoy and PM me with any questions or need for details.
  19. PB, babe, I think you are the one that is quite taken with PCS and his follicles. I just like his car...only one of them, actually.

  22. OK, I'm in Florida and I've started to see some 2008 LaCrosses on the road as well as at a few dealerships. The grille is overpowering. The shape is right, but the vertical chrome bars are too pronouced. It is a little too much bling for a car that otherwise has subtle and proportioned contours.
  23. True. This is the best color for the car, IMHO.

  25. Oh, stop...c'mon! :AH-HA_wink: Seriously, it'll be the best-looking car in Switzerland!I say this as I'm in Florida for 1 week in a white Grand Prix, thinking how much fun it is to pilot this thing around from behind that wrap-around dash!
