PARENTS are stupid sometimes
Selective perception: I thought another post said "Parents are stupid sometimes" and then it turned out to be "Pants are stupid sometimes." So, I'll run a poll. So how do you rate the job your parents did? (I actually would have made a decent psychologist since I analyze everything, think about cause and effect and offer advice to my friends (when asked...except for Paulie, in which case I volunteer it). Mine. Honestly: a C- . Extreme inconsistency. We'd take a road trip to Yosemite or Hearst Castle and one day would be great and another day something would set them off. The biggest problem is that they imported what they both came from: a patriarchal set up where the woman stands in the shadow of a man, where kids are inferior to parents (even when they are smarter and become adults) and where control/emotions rule out over logic and the weighing of options when making a decision or taking a course of action. My dad (now deceased) was a piece of work, a 5'4" immigrant with a case of the Napoleonic syndrome, and my mother couldn't make a decision if her life depended on it. Initially, I listened to my Dad and never to my Mom. By the time I finished college, I listened to neither as I had developed better reasoning abilities. Rate your parents. Flesh out as needed.

Spark plug wires - 3800 V6
Guys, I have the distibutorless ignition on my Series I 3800 FWD Buick V6. 3 pods of 2...so to speak. I need to replace spark plug wires. It looks easy to do, but is it? The fronts are staring me in the face. The rears...are they hard to get to in the back of the engine compartment over the intake manifold cover? Also, are there are tricky clips or gymnastics as they go over and through the intake manifold area? Any help is always appreciated!

Wow. In 2 and 1/2 pages, this went from Ocn's job news to Ocn's sexual fantasies. Maybe you've been idle too long. (You know, an idle mind is...yada yada). Call up the L-M dealer and tell them you need to start BEFORE July. :AH-HA_wink:

What Are You Reading?
"Make no small plans."Me? The International Building Code. Not by choice. I am modifying plans and responding to the request for corrections made by various city plan checkers on two different projects. The part of my job I hate. That's why I didn't make a 6 or 7 am arrival today.

Wow, I would think that being Southern and all, you'd be less harsh. Do you work in/for a dealership as well?

Congrats on the job find. It always seems to work out in the end. At least, that's what my Dad used to say. (I won't translate it, but it went "The Lord closes a door and opens a gate." Nifty, huh?) So, now, you've got some "slush time" on your hands. Where ya gonna go? Two weeks off during summer. I've used up all my vacation days. And, F*** those bastards, you need to collect some UE until your new job starts.

Ever Feel Like Your Life Could Be a Movie's Plot?
Yes. My life qualifies. Especially when my brother said that "Mom and Dad make 'Moonstruck' look like the minor leagues." So, yes.

FWD cars that would have the biggest sales
God, certain Rivieras were wonderful...and some were misses. I definitely liked the 1990-1992 +/-. I think that Riviera should and could be RWD. It was born as a RWD personal luxury coupe. On the other hand, the Toronado (which no longer has an Olds line to bolt onto) and the Eldorado have been FWD and should remain as such if they were to ever be resurrected. I think that, with the elimination of Olds and with MC anchoring the affordable mid size/full size coupe segment, there is definitely room in the line-up for a stellar Riviera...but Buick couldn't afford to mess it up. Can they spell focus group?

Any good flicks out there lately?
I have been a little busy and have wanted to go see a flick. For some stupid reason, I wanted to see "Poseidon." The reviews were not good, but I love ships. Two years out of college, I got to go on the QE2 but I was hooked long before then as a little kid when we would sail out of NY on other liners to go see relatives on the other side of the Atlantic. Is "Poseidon" any good? Any good comedies or mysteries out there? Reg, where are you?

Well, then, Pantho, you will need to retrace your steps and put up some pics. Maybe when its cooler and fall colors are looking sweet. But, of course, I know you have a full plate between work and family, so that would come first, right?
