  1. the maserati makes a bmw seem like a poseur car to me, even. I love Masers. I think this type of design is a great direction to take Buick style. Some of GM's cars had an Italian influence awhile ago. I could see a RWD type of sports sedan in the Buick stable with this type of flair.
  2. i don't think AWD fits the nature of this car very well, but if some buyers want it then that's alright.
  3. doesn't the rabbit have a 6 speed and a five banger?
  4. you make no mention of Honda's lack of LOW END torque. At least Toyota and Nissan have torque figured out these days. What will GM's DI 3.6 produce? 320hp?
  5. Saturn Astra only has 4 speed automatic. Plus there's no BIG TIME mpg champ in the Saturn lineup. New Vue looks too Daewoo. Some interior plastics on all its models are still cheap. Still work to do. But yes, overall, if Saturn can't change minds, then I don't what much else GM can do.
  6. as long as it helps with real american pleasing torque and mpg, more power to them
  7. consumers should expect this type of stuff with emerging hybrid technology.
  8. FOUR SPEED automatic
  9. no stick til 09? HUGE MISTAKE, unless......that's canada only that does not get the manual tranny in 08. I LOVE the G8, except.... I HAVE SEEN NO MENTION OF ALL WHEEL DRIVE OPTION.
  10. convenient for the kiddies, i see
  11. "Taurus MAX X" , right. they just forgot the MAX before the last X. I wonder if there is a built in flask option.
  12. OH, maybe I'll slap some SHO badges on it and really have the last laugh. Better yet, I'll get a "Taurus X" and slap some SHO badges on it. A "Taurus XSHO" an X rated SHO. Nothing better than an SHO with 3 rows of seats.
  13. I vowed to never get another Taurus, after having two of them. My dad had like 2 or 3 of them as work fleet cars. My brother in law had one. I vowed to not ever get another. I got a 500, so I wouldn't have a Taurus. WTF do I do now. I was thinking about an 08 500. Ford sucks. They did it to piss me off, I think.
  14. what year was your cougar? My BIL had an 85 cougar XR7 with digital dash, great car. he replaced it with an 88 Tbird Turbo coupe. That was one of my favorite cars he owned.
  15. toyota moving forward (through a thick pile of sludge)
  16. oh yeah, he's p'oed. actually he's more crazy about that last 07 taurus because of the fact it was built in hot lanta. no one looks for bench seats anymore. that has nothing to do with it. the main reason the 500 did not sell was no name recognition, dull styling, and most of all, it is noisy inside and lacks power. the engineering refinements ought to fix that. the dull styling stays, albeit tweaked.
  17. um, it basically means they are making fast decisions on the fly now. Alan said, "change it now". This all probably went down the last two weeks. Be happy, change never occurs this fast in Detroit. If anything, as lame as it is, its signs of someone waking up in DAYTWOI.
  18. that, and they couldn't think of any better name to come up with to replace freestyle. everyone listen up here though, if they can undercut acadia and outlook prices by 5 grand across the board, they might see same sales gains, and big ones. the edge will bring them into the dealer. the third row will catch their eye. they will try to increase their volume by undercutting the competition on price since it isn't a style or cargo size leader. I've always viewed the freestyle as ford's forester or outback. if they can sell a larger version essentially of that styleless product, they will come out ok. changing the name to taurus helps get the word out quicker. now you know why we never saw the freestyle advertised. this change was in the works.
  19. this is a pansy wagon, so it should sell. all the women will be wanting this. its pretty safe/femmy/motherly looking. the acadia is much more stylish in comparison. I can't imagine any man wanting to be caught dead driving this thing. this highlander actually has all the features covered, so there's no market weakness there. and the dash looks ok, if dull and derivative. toyota just keeps playing to the formula. cute/safe/nerdy looking vehicles and putting the whole marketing spin on it. they make every feature sound like they invented it, or that they are the only ones who care about your safety, or the only ones that make a reliable car. the dumbasses that don't know the difference believe all the hype. I am actually surprised the styling on this thing is as piss poor as it is. I really thought they would come out swinging on this one. Further proof that Toyota cannot and will not ever be able to produce any vehicles that are styling classics. At least Nissan tries. Mazda, too. What makes me ill is how this thing will sell in spite of how terrible the exterior styling is.
  20. new highlander pics are out. its puffy looking. the dash looks ok, but otherwise it still looks femmy and non-domestic. Its like a bloated RAV4.
  21. fank-oooo! had licey and flied shimp fo wunch
  22. I agree 100%. but i'm so happy we have this car, can we all just slap each other for fun anyways?
  23. exactly
  24. it's a really great car, it is it is........ ?
  25. oh i ain't complaining about that at all. at the same time I'd gladly fork over a bit more dought for 60 more ponies and no noise in the cabin. stuff like that is ultimately why ford is losing $$$$$$. half assing product.
