why not just a simple high power diesel? BMW's 3 series diesel makes great power and delivers near 40mpg in real world combined driving.

yes, because it is an icon, a brand, and a top in class product for 40+ years. Horsepower is at the very core of the corvette's being. It is inherent that a corvette be a top performer. the M hybrid is a venture into a new arena. the M has no legacy, no cred, and is a flash in the pan in comparison. no one is asking for this car, and the hybrid powertrain is not an essential virtue of this segment, and not at all at the core of this car. and so they obviously aren't doing it for sales. this is all about who has the bigger technological penis in Japan.

nissan = new whipping boy? and get this. nissan is furiously improving their products, and have revised cars like the new altima. they have improved the G infinitis and have new M infinitis on the market. they have new versa and sentra compacts. the titan is being revised. maybe product even isn't enough anymore. i think the world would be much better off if we didn't listen to stock analysts some days.

GOD, someone at DCX has a clue finally then. I suppose the northern dealers couldn't stop bitching, "give me a car I can SELL". what is with all these slab sided straight horizontal dashes these days. the dash never flows into the doors anymore. I think everyone has given up on the driver oriented interiors of cars like the auroras and my old 95 tbird. and that pisses me off.

I mean, that whole explanation of how they ranked them was very very wishy washy. if they are going to rank them without regard to the test data, then SAY IT IN THE ARTICLE. don't even print the test data then or say how the edge is a top safety pick in its class by the IIHS. and this a dumb comparison, again, anyways. if you want a three row vehicle you will not be looking at an edge anyways. this is a 'stopgap' comparison test generated to fill print. They will no doubt have another comparion test in about 6 months with the new Highlanders and pilots, the more powerful 08 freestyle, the revised pacifica, the xl7 the subaru tribeca, and the lambdas. And I can already predict the finishing order of that one 7. XL7 6. freestyle 5. pacifica 4. tribeca 3. acadia 2. highlander 1. pilot

i think the japanese are getting a little egotistical. "lexus has it so we need to and we can do it better" is all this is. Even the japanese like to brag to say their johnsons are bigger than the other guys.

my lease term was 51% residual after 3 years.

i sat in a coupe with stick at the dealer yesterday. it was used, about 6k miles. A really nice coupe. If i were coupe shopping it'd be high on my list big time.

I was able to see the acadia but not sit in one this wkd. i liked the interior layout better than the outlook. The sales guy said they had sold 6 acadia that day, 3 himself. he said they are leaving the lot faster than they can get them. there was a sales guy working with the sales manager on getting some lease terms set up for a couple. they said they would do 360-400 a month on a 12k lease with their 4-5k trade equity and the salesman said it was doable and that they were just trying to see if one with leather could be found that would fit into those terms. that leads me to think -its selling big time -if the lease can be worked up that cheaply, they must have a good residual set up on them

i think it was golden globes 2005 where geroge clooney was getitng interview by mary hart and he was drunk or something and giving her the 'do me mary' look on national tv. HILARIOUS. lots of folks are wanting in on this segment though. a tall riding crossover with cargo capacity etc. and all weather capability. I think MT was f'ed on this one. First, they should not be comparing 3 row vehicles with 2 row vehicles. Compare the Freestyle to the Hihglander fro crissakes! But that's another deal. My beef is, they said no competitor stood above another, and then it seemed to me if you read between the lines they pretty much just picked a finishing order based upon personal criteria and not any sort of testing objectivity. There was really nothing substantive to explain the way they picked the finish.

if you want to see a REAL SEXY new Impala rendering get the new Motor Trend March 07. Just got mine today. Hot vision of what the new Imp will look like. VERY aggressive front end. even more aggressive than the G8.

they probably will make a XENA edition of the highlander for the letsbefriends crowd.
