  1. this thing is a triumph! TOYOTA, GFY! This will get ENORMOUS PRESS! goes to show how stupid the prius looks. Is this American swagger or what? Goes to show you how dumb Asian stuff can look in comparison when we do it right.
  2. looks like a Saab. I LOVE THIS THING! Hey Toyota, you've been punked. GFY.
  3. how much $$$$$ did GM send Neil?
  4. BMW charges too much now. And their performance is not that much better anymore. Yet, maybe they want to sell less and charge more. Stay exclusive. I like the 3 series and I guess I could enjoy one. I used to lust for one, but now whenever I see someone crammed into one with no room in the back and no trunk, I figure, 45 grand for an unusable car. No matter how good it drives. At least the CTS is human sized.
  5. i drove the new 4.0 and 6 speed combo in the pacifica and it actually moved out quite nicely. drive one first and judge for yourself.
  6. you excel in reiterating the obvious. KUDOS. some don't get it though......
  7. quest (largest cargo area) comes in around 4200 pounds in S trim I think.
  8. let me put it to you this way. a cobalt felt much more substantial. it felt like a larger more stable car.
  9. sounds good. anyone ever been to RED ROBIN?
  10. was a 99 with the vvt and 5 speed. it simply wasn't good at speeds above 55 or so. If you needed to accelerate you had to DS to 3rd or 2nd and strip the tranny. in 4th or 5th there was no torque. it was peppy stoplight to stoplight with one person in the car and below maybe 45 or 50.
  11. well, that dash is not SLEEK. Its quite blocky. the tall center part is kind of grotesque in its erection like posture. The shifter hanging off the dash is ridiculous. It should be located as where Toyota and Kia have them located. Its absurd to raise the stack that high and then have those tall vents in the middle where the radio and climate controls should be, higher up. Why are they so low? It looks cushy though. And they seem to have retained interior innovation. Again, for all those who say Lambdas can substitute for a van, here again is proof as to why they can't and why you are stupid. Minivans are all about this sort of function and volume. Its hard to say if the press will roast these. The 4.0l 6 speed powertrain is quite good for this sort of vehicle (I've driven it). Styling is too conservative IMHO, but at least does not look cheap inside. you would all be amazed at how women tingle in the mid section when they see folding seats and power sliding doors and hatches.
  12. ZUNE = lol
  13. the hardest thing these days is putting buyers in a position to determine empirically for themselves what is the better solution. But, most people don't want the responsibility to make decisions like that themselves. they would prefer to pass the decision making buck to someone with 'credentials' i.e. the media........then if you f@#k up YOUR decision you can pass it off and blame the faceless Consumer Reports or the Ann Jobs' of the world who said you'd like the Toyota better because your skirt didn't get dirty on the door sill when you got in the car. Like I've said before, my Prizm which still has the same motor in today's Corolla had a deathly inadequate engine for keeping up with real freeway traffic, even with a stick. yet, EVERY car I have driven with a version of the ecotec, stick or automatic, has been a HOOT to drive and has had good power. I have driven like 10 cars with the ecotec i think Saturn L series with stick Satun Ion with stick Saturn Vue with stick Grand Am with stick Alero with automatic Cobalt with stick Cobalt with automatic Malibu with automatic Malibu classic with automatic Cavalier with stick HHR 2.4 with automatic now, its been a groaner in some cars because of no noise abatement. Isolated subframes and bushings and sound insulation and tuning may have done wonders in some of those cars. But I wouldn't have complained about the power in any of them, except maybe the HHR. And there are some heavy cars in that list. Regarding the Cobalts also, they have had solid chassis and decent bump asorption. The Cobalts I have driven have all been solid feeling. Especially for the price class.
  14. some veggie burgers and turkey burgers and boca burgers are quite good actually.
  15. underwhelming. interior better be nice and loaded with features, otherwise no one will give up the sienna or ody. I could see this topping the sedona though. the 4.0 litre 6 speed is a great combo for this vehicle, i've driven a pacifica so equipped.
  16. THE LAMBDAS ROCK, BUT THEY STILL ARE NOT TRUE MINIVANS.
  17. shame they won't hit showrooms forever. they are needed now.
  18. sansa's screens crack. sound quality lacks. read owner reviews at cnet.com ipod is the class and worth every penny.
  19. Millen returning; Lions 24-72 under his watch
  20. I LOVE YOU, MAN. NAH, REALLY, I LOVE YOU. the gore liberals haven't shut that place down yet?
  21. oh c'mon, what's wrong with a 'melting pot' sort of woman? survival of the fittest. can't blame her for wanting more suitors!!!!!!!!
  22. WHERE's THE BEEF?
  23. oh i dunno, consumer reports, anti American sentiment of many people in our country, greedy dealers trying to gouge, there's still lots of issues that need to be overcome
  24. I like DSC as an acronym. What i want to know, did they get rid of the thumb toggle switch on the shifter? That actually works well. I was wondering about the low mpg, but i bet when they retest the rice burner competition for 08, the Mali will be within 1-2 mpg across the board. And we all know GM's typically exceed EPA estimates, at least for the cars. As far as whing about whether this will intrude on Buick, that is exactly the sort of compete within GM mentality that has kept it from succeeding in the past. i think there still exists enough room to offer a distinct and feature laden Buick to sell apart from this. My big concern, how frickin long till this actually hits market. it could get lost in progress of others over time. But GM clearly has all bases covered. I would think they should offer bluetooth though and enhance the nav system to operate either via on star or via a storage system. I like that they kept the EPS at least for the 4 cylinder....assuming they tune it correctly. They covered their asses by keeping the hydraulic on the 6. Panorama sunroof, sweet. I would like to see them add a fold flat front seat like my 500's. Handy for cargo occassionally. 252 hp plenty I think, but to maintain interest over time I hope they put a 280hp version in the mix. A true manual or DSG type over time may help make a performance model. Really, this is what we all asked for, GM making the effort on things like 6 speed trannys, IRS multilink, DOHC motors, manumatics, incabin technology, airbags, stabilitrak, I mean c'mon, there is NOTHING to really bitch about this car. I am smiling. And it takes a lot to do that. Of course, i haven't seen the plastic yet or heard the cheap crappy OEM speakers.
