geez, there's plenty of people in my hood driving new DCX vans all around. The neighbors on either side of me have one, it seems like they are everywhere around here. Quite possibly the biggest seller around here next to pickups.

In concert he did not sound like PerryAugeri to me at all. Deen, however will fool most people, his voice is really that much like PerryAugeri. Most chicks who only know Faithfully and Open Arms in no way if blindfolded or even not could tell if Augeri or Perry were singing the songs live. Apprently Augeri must not be edgy or metal enough for Neal Schon. Which is probably what you said, they want the more heavy metal edge, thus JSS joins the fray. Maybe Augeri will return to working at the Gap if his solo bit don't pan out.

AUGERI was tremendous for Journey. JSS is excellent, he's just not journey, IMHO. maybe that will change for me over time. Journey is just doing what Styx has been doing. Morph into a sort of faceless icon, with interchangeable singers and players. Deen Castronovo, Journey's drummer, is the one who has been singing all the classic power ballads in concert anyways. his ability to sound like Steve Perry is why journey can replace Augeri. JSS has more stage flair. I saw journey with Augeri on a club date about 4 years ago, 10 feet from stage. Probably the best concert I've seen. Augeri was great. I saw JSS Journey with Def Leptards last summer, I didn't think they were that good. It just didn't sound like Journey. Of course, it was not totally equal comparison, I was like 200 feet away from the stage. Oh well. If they tour US again I'll see them if the tickets are cheap because Neal Schon is tremendous. But no Perry or Augeri really makes it a bit faux to me.

I prefer Steve Augeri. I pretty much do not care about this band anymore. JSS is a great singer, but Journey is Journey. Anyways, is there anyone left who really cares that much? Maybe not.
