Realtors
my beef is realtors make way too high a commission. a combined 6-7% is just unfair and needs to be adjusted. Less expensive houses, sure. But a 400-500k or higher house, having 25k plus skimmed off for real estate fees plus the inevitable bankers gouging after that on the loan are real problems. And then there is the whole concept of an architect putting in tons of hours for a 4-7 percent fee and some real estate person shows a house to a couple people and walks off with the same compensation. often times real estate folks are ones who couldn't make a career or find one doing something else and went with it out of need and are lucky to be making the amount of money they do vs. the skills they would have otherwise.

maybe they should try it on a few cars they might find it works *equinox * cough yes, its become a snob car. and apparently in spite of dreadful styling and no torque they can get away with it. pretty much, until BMW builds a compact around 20k, then cars like civics and jettas will thrive no, but all segments have fragmented so that not all people buy on price anymore, unfrotunately none of the US brands put out any products that appeal to that mindset, for nearly all segments.

TOYOTA - market saturation?
Has toyota hit the wall? Have all their products become unfocused and do they have too many? Have they spread themselves too thin? Is their quality suffering because of trying to please all customers and developing them too fast? Will their cars outlast the payment book anymore?

TOYOTA in DECLINE
Wow, it looks like the Toyota PR team will have to work overtime to cover up all the crap happening now. Maybe sales will take a hit, maybe not. There are plenty of stupid Americans that won't acknowledge that Toyota can fk up too. Which car maker is most poised to take advantage of buyers leaving Toyota in droves and why?

TOYOTA - news headline
You are a journalist, your boss just told you they want you to write an article fast on all the Toyota problems within the last week and month and it being a possible sign of toyota quality and their empire slipping. Meanwhile, sex scandals and employee mistreatment tales can be told. The company is now chasing even more profits from big SUV's with the new Tundra coming out despite trying to appear green with the Prius. They have been beat to the punch on ethanol and bio fuels. Create the headline for your story that would best tell the road Toyota appears to be headed upon and the mess they are now in.

400 silverados - well, gas prices might be to blame 300 2007 tahoes - just stocking up 50 equinox - easily fixed with the 3.6/6sp, a real interior, and some styling tweaks, why hasn't GM stepped up 50 2007 suburbans & avalanches - stocking up 50 colorodo - too small, no 6, cheap interior, no wonder 10 uplanders... or so... - better put those on ebay or sell em to dominos pizza

you know, lots of folks won't buy toilet paper at a given time anymore unless its on sale, has a coupon, or is in bulk cheap. I'm so tired of people bitching about wanting to move product without incentives. If incentives create a buzz, who cares? the best way to raise transaction prices is to build more desirable cars, incentives or no. Otherwise, you need incentives to move most iron anyways. Even Chrysler has to have a 30 day return policy on 300's now.

MOTOR TREND BLOWS CHUNKS
i don't think segment leader is always defined by biggest sales. best product is more appropriate...i.e. the cobalt sells more than the mazda3 but the mazda3 is a better car

JEEP COMPASS
Its brilliant thinking now that I think of it. If you are stuck getting a cheap car and a small car, would you rather it be a Saturn (vue), a pontiac (vibe), or a toyota (Matrix) or outlander etc. when you could have a JEEP which is a cool brand? here's the kicker. the caliber is way cool, but they squashed the roof on purpose for rakish looks. The jeep is the way to get the utility + of the caliber and have a taller roofline. In the process, its more fun to get a Jeep than a Vibe, for example. and, big kicker....it brings NEW/MORE buyers into the brand to move them up to better Jeep products later on. Someone who thought they were stuck with a Matrix, now can get a Jeep and some brand equity. With toyota you get no status.

Aura Pricing
priced WAY under Camry. and it comes to market with 6 speeds and OHC 252 hp. Did GM maybe have a clue on how to launch a car?

GM PLANS PLUG-IN HYBRID
it's not like you can tool up to produce 17 million hybrid batteries per annum, like OVERNIGHT, like right NOW. and even then, 2/3 of the population doesn't want to pay for the extra hardware and cost just yet. more socialism.....'we SHOULD make them do it' mentality.
