  1.
  2. How about cutting incentives to boost profit. Resort to value pricing, as it should be, with real discounts, advertise it as such, and then boom better resale values, better sales, more people interested in the new friendly GM.
  3. Malibu will be able to cater to those that want FWD. Please don't start this story again. Malibu will grow in size, and the design will be gotta have. Whatever RWD sedan comes out will be a large RWD sedan, as we've been hearing [though I did hear someone refer to it as sporty recently], and that will be a one-two punch noobdy else but Chrysler and Dodge will have. The LX cars have proven RWD is suitable for the mass market.
  4. So you mean they are debating what to call it now? Does this mean Impala would go away or stay a FWD sedan? Malibu or Impala are on equal footing right now, with equal equity, but I'd be glad just to see some consistency. For the sake of consistency I'd rather them keep both names, and the advertising dollars they've spent over the last decade. Chevelle would be okay, but I think it's time for GM to have some consistency with names already.
  5. i'm so excited
  6. feel good....he told me regal and I are right.
  7. It shouldn't be disheartening at all. That 2 people want to buy it is terrific! That all praised the car is even better, but that 2 want to buy it is exactly what Buick and GM wants. Try and BUY! All of these people will recommend the car, and that is the best thing. The thing that would be best is to hold panels like these across the country, give people the car to test, and have them go out and recommend the car. Though that would be a pretty massive marketing effort, I guess. Read on. He explains that he doesn't think Buick has the cachet to demand those prices and compete on equal grounds with Lexus. This is the truth. There's no lie. This is an entry level luxury sedan and will be pitted up against cars like the Avalon, ES300, etc. Lexus has a lineup full of luxury cachet, they actually are a sought after brand. Buick sells the Lacrosse, enough said. If Buick sold the Enclave and Velite along with the Lucerne, you can bet he wouldn't be saying the same thing. Lastly, this car is a solid entry. I don't like that in some areas it is still very average, but overall the style and substance, and the fact that it's a solid car from Buick is a good thing, and should help Buick see a spike in sales. This article was great and helps promote that fact. About the name, I definitely agree with the panel on this one. Lucerne is too feminine, not that femininas are a bad thing, but my car should exude power and masculinity, numerics would be better than Lucerne even. Electra and Roadmaster, or how about KingBadass, those would all be great too.
  8. tickets are around $10, i beleive, and no you don't have to worry about buying them ahead of time. I just hope whatever day we end up going on, it's not a zoo, because LAIAS on an extremely busy day is the most congested I've probably ever felt in my life.
  9. Best. Explanation. Ever. Looking forward to the RWD Chevy sedan, and of course, our comrade.
  10. yes it sounds pretty cool, but it better Cadillac worthy, and they better do the full work on this, that's all I'll say [I'm not keen on the Cadillac FWD/AWD front].
  11. I don't think it'll be the G6 convertible since they've already debuted it long ago, and a little while back Josh found out a new production Pontiac will be on the circuit this year. There will almost definitely be a new car there, but what it is is obviously left to be seen.
  12. that blue color is phenomonal, really makes it look lovely, i want to see it in person
  13. CSpec is a great contributor, always reasonable and with great tact, I think he'll make a great addition to the team.
  14. is it known if the UV8 will get DOD?
  15. Wow, I really do hope it's a RWD Pontiac. I think it will be the new product Josh talked about in the G6 article. Not gonna get my hopes up, but it would be awesome to see some killer design theme attracting major attention at the Pontiac booth in LA.
  16. I really like the fact that they are desperate to bring the Mustang fighter to market. Regardless of if it's called Camaro or Chevelle at the show, it will be Camaro in production form, no doubt about it. Camaro is something like the 3rd or 4th most recognized nameplate; Chevy would be stupid to drop that kind of association.
  17. well then we'll have to see which report turns out to be true.
  18. dang AAS, everybody get in here and list when you can go i am available starting jan 11- end of the show. Let's get a date where as many people can go as possible, and let's try to make it where people are available the whole day.
  19. what day is that croc? are you talking about friday the 13th, oooh, if so, then yes I can go that day...
  20. ouch, that stings.....but well said, exactly how I could have put it. The Lucerne is a nice car and I want so much for it to be successful, but it's only "good for a GM", nothing truly groundbreaking. It does have good understated style on the outside, but it will not be enough to convince non Buick fans, I fear
  21. there will be quite a lot of Z06's being produced. Something like 3000-5000 per year with GM adjusting for demand. There are dealers who are doing sticker price. If there isn't one around your area, you'd be better off just to wait, unless you can't wait, in which case drive around, and save yourself $30,000. This dealer is a jerk for doing this; hopefully people have more sense and just wait until more are produced. There will be plenty available.
  22. Even the lines on this car resemble the Aurora, the overall stance is a lot like the second gen Aurora too, only this is more aggressive thanks to a nicely tailored C-pillar.
  23. There's a white diamond up on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LUCERNE-CXS...cmdZViewItem#lg
  24. it's key to get rid of these job banks.
  25. it was a rhetorical question. I know how I explain the tepid sales, a tepid car overall. No boom in the marketplace, no grab your attention design in the first place. The Asians don't have to design to grab attention because they've already captured the hearts and minds of the public through careful attention to details, perfectionism, consistently improving quality, and legendary reliability. They don't need to do anything any better, and if they would style and design like Americans and europeans can, well they would probably be indestructible. The cardinal rule for the domestics has to be function follows form. A cool design will make a lot of things forgivable. A gotta have design is the most important key towards recapturing the hearts of greater America. Particularly in the most affluent markets, and in the luxury sector, people increasingly are looking for the most stylish, refined piece. The new CTS should do this well. I test drove a Cobalt SS SC this weekend, boy what a cool looking car, much better looking, imo, than anything in the price range, except for the Mustang, I can't think of any other car that resonates as well with its powerful stance and purposeful lines. The interior was cramped and the quality of the materials wasn't perfect. The car was super tight, the engine was phenomonal, and if I were in the position to buy, I wouldn't think twice. That design had me. Just a really cool looking car, and people appreciate that.
