That is gorgeous. I wasn't very impressed with earlier pictures but this is STUNNING!!!!! That rear reminds me of the last gen el-dorado, but in a much more modern way....My only concern, well Cadillac's only concern should be: ''Where does this leave the STS??? ... This is the first car to ever make me WISH I could afford a brand new caddy!

Especially since this is a 'premium' midsizer and those are not............................

Dear Buick, Please, PLEASE, PLEASE get rid of the fish-eyed headlights. It's repulsive and ruins the front end. I'd like to see a reasonalby exciting lighting house that involves projection beams or any other lighting treatment that acutally originated in THIS century and not the 90's; as is the case with the current Lacrosse. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

This thing(including the rear) looks damn good.

If I understand their corporate speak(and who among us can) GM acknowledges that it has to cut away the duds in order to be its most efficient and restore profitability. To the duds end, minivans have never been a GM standout and finally, afters decades of attempts, GM realizes that. GM shines in the pickup truck and mid to full size SUV department, but with fuel prices so volaitile that simply is not a growing market right now. Similarly, the minivan market hasn't been hot for years. The crossover-utility market(CUV, as they have been dubbed), is with out a doubt the hottest and fastest growing market. GM would like to own a very significant, if not dominant, share of that segment hence the reason that it has spent so much money and effort on the LAMBDA's as well the reason they will introduce a Chevy Lambda next year. That being said, I think its a smart move for GM to leave this market. DCX was the long-time stonghold and Honda and Toyota seemed to have caught or passed them in this shrinking market. GM, in its current state, needs to utilize every dollar possible to ensure the success of more profitable ventures. The minivan market, if still around in 8 to 10 years, will suffer little from GM's lack of presence. GM on the other hand may come out all the better.

I will reserve judgement until I see it in person. As others have said, some angles paint a very favorable profile, while others are not so...............flattering. The interior gets high marks just for removing all the cheap looking plastic that ruined the first generation CTS IMHO. Whether I like it or not, it is SEXY..................................
-
Because as nice as it is, and indeed it sounds on paper like a nice ride, it still ain't no friggin Lucerne!

I think this is fantastic. Dare I also say I like the rear end?..............I do. I'll wait to see the interior in person.

Tiger to Become Spokesman for Other GM Brands?
Regalguy01 replied to Variance's topic in General Motors
While I agree tiger does little to promote the brand and will concede that the Terraza minivan is not earth-moving, the Lacrosse and Lucerne are hardly dull by comparison to the Toyota blandry and Honda awhored. The Lacrosse, in CXL and CXS trim, is just as good as either of those cars on any day. I ain't a fan of the fish eyes but they're no worse than the pig snout grill on the Camry. As for the Lucerne, you have really got to be kidding. Its styling is classy and tasteful. Its quieter and drives just as well as my Es300. Oh, did I mention it is outselling the the Avalon(redesigned completely in 05') by a very healthy margin? Maybe Paris Hilton could do a better job of convincing people to spend an additional $3k-$5k to choose an Avalon over a Lucerne than toyota salesmen are doing. -
Gm is gearing up to kick some serious ass with these Lambdas. Looks great!

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: So true indeed.

Slick. Love the look of the rear with the way the dual rectectangular exhauts pipes are integrated into the bumper. Clean, modern and masculine. Very cool indeed.

I agree with this prediction. They will likely pick the Toyota Blandry and it is up for grabs as far as the pickups go; that is the one segment where they will admit that Japanese are not automotive manufacturing GODS.............

GM halts sales of Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia
Regalguy01 replied to vineyard311's topic in GMC Trucks
This does little to sway my opinion of the Lambdas. If this is the BIGGEST problem they will face with an ALL-NEW vehicle, i'm sold already... -
All I would like to see is fresh product perpetually given to the brand. I don't care how you do it, or how many models are offered for that matter, but keep the vehicles fresh and competitive. Buick hasn't gotten its stodgy image soley from its buyers, but also from the outdated materials and offerings it had to use throughout the 90's(that is, except the stunning 95' Rivera). Also, try using some different parts in Buick than in the volume brands(chevy, pontiac etc). If Buick is to remain one rung below Cadillac, I don't expect to have the same dash components, door handles and etc as someone who paid $7k or so less than I did

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing looks beautiful. I simply cannot wait until this thing comes to the showrooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now THATS how a caddy interior should look! Aside from the wheels, which don't do much for me, I can't tell any changes to the interior..............................

I'd like to see a much improved Lacrosse and a 2 door luxury coupe of some sort would be nice. . Something that competes with the Lexus SC or Acura TL coupe.

Well the last GEN was absolutely nauseating so just about anything would have been better. Overall the design is a little jazzier, but look what it had to start with. The tailights are, well, I dunno. I can't put my hands on it but they just don't seem to fit the car and are oddly integrated into its rear. The grill is very nasaly and snoutish as others have posted. And don't get me started on this cars platform mate, the Lexus BS, oops I mean, ES. My wife asked me if I would let her trade her 03' ES on this current. I told her, ''only if you plan to live in it too ''

I agree. GM needs to stick with one, maybe two iterations of a minivan. My thought would be to give Chevy the most basic and a mid-level version(Uplander and Uplander LS?). And give say Saturn a mid-range and up-scale one(Relay LS and Relay LT, maybe?). Make some features/options/colors exclusive to each brand as well. This would appear to give people a choice within GM, without creating overlap and product redundancy. Getting out is not the answer though. Just as the Japanese keep trying and trying to chip away at the domestic stronghold on pickups, Gm needs to keep trying to figure out how to successfully build and sell minivans.

Point taken Partially agree. Though we look a little different externally, people are people. Regardless of race. However, America will never loose the entire concept of 'race'. It was too much a factor in the way this country came to be and is ingrained in its history. Captialism, which drives every thing in this country, will always divide us along the lines of race, socio-economic status, sex, age and any other demographic they feel will allow them to sell more product. American Comanies have always divided us along racial lines. Its just in years of recent did they loose their 'tact' and began coming out and saying it.

Gmman, I agree with the former of your statement, that is most blacks aren't as honest about those issues we as a race suffer from and would most certainly damn you to hell for bringing it to their attention. I have siblings that fail to realize that very thing. However I have to disagree with the latter portion of your statement, concerning those folks influencing the rest of the population. Hip hop has been infiltrating the world around us for the last several years. Hip hop concerts are selling out in Asian, European, African and South American venues. I, as a 27 y/o black man driving a 5 year old Buick with all the original factory trim, am often 'out-blinged' at a stop light by a pimped out scion or civic being piloted by a college-aged white male blasting TI's or Snoop's latest. The hip-hop culture has cropped up everywhere from political venues to tupperware parties(pun intended). But seriously, it is undeniable that we(blacks) as a people are vital to any company in America who makes consumer goods. Hell, that gorgeous interior and exterior we call the Enclave? It was 'dreamed up' by black men. Buick even admits that. So, I think its too early to tell if Buicks 'bling campaign' will pay in the form of customer traffic. I did see one of the characters on HBO's 'THE WIRE' driving one. That just might be a clue...........

Nice, Very Very Nice

Because the sad reality is that many young blacks are driven by materialism and conspicuous consumption. That is, a great many young black men and women purchase products that will get them noticed, and hopefully envied by others. So much so that they will put off home-purchasing, retirement/401(k) investing and other forms of saving that are essential to one's long-term financial well being. These people are always looking for the biggest, flashiest, blingiest thing out there and would sell their first-born to be in possession of such product. Steve Shannon would like to appeal to that for some reason. I just hope it doesn't serve to bite him in the ass. I agree with the earlier post someone put about the 'Slade. Cadillac had no clue it would be such a hit with the hip hop set. I propose the same can be done with the Enclave. Leave it as it is. It is beautiful enough for most of us Loyalists to appreciate and if some young hip-hopper wants to pimp it out, it looks as if its ready for that as well.
