Tundra Recall Could Cost Toyota
Toyota's latest quality issues could lead to a recall of the brand-new Tundra pickup. Some owners of V-8 Tundras have reported camshaft failures in their trucks. Toyota told the Detroit News that it had logged 20 such complaints. The problem could affect as many as 30,000 Tundras built at assembly plants in Indiana and Texas. Toyota had planned to sell 200,000 Tundras in the truck's first year as a part of an aggressive expansion plan in the United States . The company has opened a new San Antonio plant to assemble the truck; has expanded an Alabama engine plant to supply to factory; and has also started construction on plants in Ontario and Mississippi as it tries to match demand for its vehicles. The Texas plant had suffered cost overruns before it opened late last year. The News also reports the Tundra had failed to match Ford's F-150 and Dodge's Ram in frontal crash test scores. http://www.thecarconnection.com/Auto_News/...173.A12413.html Finally, it's in the news!

VW Golf GTI BBQ
It lacked a 2-foot wing, ugly hood vent/scoops, and a hideous body kick, and I didn't see a fart can, so there. That's rice.

Your LEAST favorite color for a car
+1 Also, yellow except on some cars, yellow orange, bright red, except on some cars, and baby $h! brown.

Car and Driver drives AURA Hybrid
Both actually, the Aura's look better but don't feel good when you rest your arm on the panel arm rests.

Velite Coming for Buick
I'd prefer the name "Riviera" At any rate, the Velite still looks modern today, and more modern than anything besides the Enclave.

Too bad it looks cheap, especially those door panels.

That's just sad/crushing to have happen to your car...and it was a nice one too (not a riced piece of $h!)

Rented a Cobalt
Perhaps, but the Civic is worth that kind of money. It gets you things like a 5-speed automatic, nicer interior, better/more advanced suspension, smoother drivetrain, NAV option, and so on. Don't you think GM would want to have the extra 4k in its pockets? The Aveo is for the budget minded, the Cobalt should be able to compete with the Civic.

'07 Tundra Camshafts Snapping
Well he may be refering to the fact that Toyota in Japan has been very displeased with the quality slipping as of late, and this is a major quality issue, so in that context the Tundra would indeed be a failure as a Toyota product. As far as news about this, I have yet to see it featured on places like edmunds. Which is typical. If GM trucks have an issue with the tailgate not staying up they're all over it like flies on $h!, but here we have catastrophic engine failure and barely a peep.

Suzuki to debut Verona replacement at Franfurt
I was expecting it to just be the Epica with Suzuki badge on it, since the current car is the last gen Daewoo version of the Epica. So is it on it's own platform now or is it still based on the Epica?

Rented a Cobalt
The Civic and the Cobalt are in the same class. The Cobalt should be as good as the Civic, the fact that it makes you think the Civic is in another class says a lot about how far the Cobalt needs to go. On another note, the PT handled that good? That's impressive considering it's on the old Neon platform.
