The following is part of what greeted friends/family in an Email sent about 8:15p (central) on January 6, 2003: Hard to believe it has been 4 years since that Email was sent. A lot has changed (including Joy's boyfriend becoming her husband) ... some things have stayed the same. In a couple months (March), it'll be 20 years since my second open heart surgery, which was 9 months before my then-best-friend died 2 days after Christmas of an asthma attack. And, later this year, it'll be 30 years since my first open heart surgery. Thanks to (and despite) these anniversaries, life continues to be good ! For 2007, I'll be planning a road trip or two and perhaps doing another radio show, among many other things . And, sometime this year, the pacemaker that was implanted 4 years ago will be replaced. Um. Given Camino's description of his intent of this thread, FWD _IS_ a dealbreaker for me for any NEW car I should purchase. Those 2 FWDs I've owned were in the PAST. The cars I've looked at recently (as I've posted about previously) were the '06 Charger and an older model Olds Cutlass (RWD, 1987). (and) Thanks, guys, for your comments. I can assure you my sister is no "pushover" . She has made it clear each time what she wants ... and has not let them talk her into something else ... he he. As for the Colorado, do either of you know if it comes manual with the quad (crew) cab version? My sis and her husband are starting to think about having kids and my sister will NOT give up a manual truck. So, she has agreed to get a 4-door pickup. From what I've been able to research (albeit briefly), the manual is not available in the quad/crew cab version of the Colorado. If that's the case, then the salesman were actually correct ... Hmmm.... If the Colorado does have a manual, it isn't in the particular model/packaging that she wants. This is definitely a deal breaker for my sister. She currently has a 1997 S-10 manual extended cab. She is looking to buy a brand new vehicle this year, particularly another truck with manual transmission. Chevrolet doesn't offer one. So, she is looking elsewhere and likes the Nissan Frontier the most, right now anyway. She is bummed, tho, because she'd rather buy a brand new Chevrolet, no matter the cost. But, Chevrolet doesn't offer what she wants. Sadly, I know EXACTLY how she feels..... Spent a number of nights in the Ronald McDonald House near Children's Memorial Hospital as a kid when my checkups were at CMH. We used to make a night of it.
