Agreed on the GP. Bonne certainly was creamy- but 2 strikes for me; I hate 'baby blue' and the chromed, non-factory fender skirts simply ruin it. 60 secs and 2 discus throws later and the car would rise 2 full letter grades. - - - - - RE Subaru in general- they certainly have cultivated a long history of being torturously ugly.

My picks from Robert's great batch would be the '56 DeSoto & the '62 GP. - - - - - I've had this magazine (cover & article) since 1983, when my grandfather & I were doing some light pilfering at the junk yard/shop next door, once the woman who owned it passed away and it was unoccupied. GF felt he was justified, having to look out his kitchen & dining room windows at rusting stoves, mattresses, crates, metal and all other sorts of debris maybe 20 feet from his house, for decades (they lived there starting in 1948- I don't know when the junk shop started up). I only know it was '83 because I just looked them up; the husband passed in Dec '82 and she passed in April '83. I also am in possession of this double-sided porcelin dealership sign that might have come from the same establishment. Thinking recently I might sell it- it's hanging on a wall inside my shop, down at the far end. If I look at it once a year, it's by accident. I believe it's worth around $500.

First I saw this, I thought it was steam-powered, but that's a conventional IC engine. Guy appears to be steam-cleaning / pressure washing it. Wood spoke wheels with non-pneumatic tires, weird quad leaf spring packs linked together, HD as hell. Make unknown.

They're both 60 - try & tell me Curtis looks a day under 80. I don't know if Hoffs has had work done, but you look at her neck & her hands & I say no way. She could easily be Curtis' daughter... or granddaughter by appearance. 2018 : Not that I was in the Bangles tent back then, but she's sort of a 'thing' from that video- to the point of the gif. Very hot, great eyes. Plus, she's doing the '80s/ big/ Jersey hair thing. Still looks great.

Aging... and genetics is a very funny/tricky thing. Suzanna Hoffs, of the Bangles fame ~ Jamie Lee Curtis ~ Both born in 1954 sorry : 1958

^ Isn't that the exact same physical vehicle, vs. all the different configurations & 2 different styles on 3 different chassis' of SIlverado tho?
-
I thought the i6 was discontinued already- or was that just that Apple was stopping support for it?
-
I will have to look into that one- maybe just better to bite the bullet and go i8. It's not a matter of being able to afford it, I'm just tight.

It could be 10 years old.

Ya- I'm the only person you all 'know' still on a dumb phone. People send emoji's in their messages sometimes- they only come thru as rectangles. I have no '$' sign or parenthesis', and the number '1' is after the circa 16 symbols. Texting takes some moments (I am pretty much lightning fast after all this practice tho). But both my digital camera & independent GPS units died within the last few months, forcing my hand. Plus, for the first time in my life that I can recall, I'm feeling peer pressure : using it out in public, I tend to shield the dumb phone from others' pitiful gazes. My one son has an iPhone7, the other an i8. Just looked at some of the photos from the i8- they're stellar (quick google says 8mp, and my digital was 12mp). I know what they cost- what are you going to do? Battery life will be an issue either way- I'm used to an average of 6 days before recharging. If I'm true to form, I'll keep it for years, so the support aspect & ease of getting a battery, etc is a plus. But I'm very low tech... or should I say I'm kind of locked into the tech level of 10-15 years ago. I am unaware of any apps I would be looking for; almost just psyched to have a bright light and a degree gauge (that may be an app). My music is still on an independent ipod, tho I would likely morph over to spotify or something (so in the dark here) as my truck doesn't even have a aux jack. Are there any places to buy an iphone at a better deal other than the given phone stores selling at full list price?

I agree that it's coming! Too much ancillary evidence, as you mentioned. Plus I've never seen as much testing for ANY of the other ME Corvette programs. I just hope the FE version remains alongside of it- the current car blows me away in person.

I know the topic was discussed about a year or so ago, couldn't find it. Question: if you were going out to -ahem- purchase your first smart phone, what would you chose & why? Asking for a friend.

Yep- I'm also not seeing many '19s at all (did see 1 yesterday, prior to it was over a month). Is Chevy reporting '19 & '19 'classic' sales independently? Dealer sites are primarily and by a long shot showing double cab/standard beds in inventory from my observation.

:) I believe that's 'ViewMaster'. Hess & Eisenhardt built 6, I think 3 were 'Skyview's which had long glass panels in the roof. These were 4-row wagons.

My pleasure! Lots more out there too! I certainly would not say being between the GN and the GNX (quicker than the Corvette that year) is in any way "pretty boring" If you recall the 1/4 mile stats pic from '79 I posted, 1985 was just starting to come out of a terrible era for performance. And the Olds Aerotech was a performance bomb- didn't it do 200 MPH with the Quad-4? Off the charts. RE the Wildcat - Aerotech - ME corvette concepts... I think the Divisions were still coming off of their recently-stripped autonomy and were still able to eek out some headstrong moves like these 3.

I thought I was being QUITE specific when I stated "official announcement of production". Trade/enthusiast chatter and spy shots are not official. Buick showed the Wildcat mid-engine concept, fully functional, in numerous settings, plus it saw a ton of press. But it was never announced it was going into production. Therefore, the 'production clock' never started. As opposed to March 2016 and the Tesla Model 3.

So Tesla moved a solid 25,250 Model 3s in Dec. Of course, even Musk was saying 'buy now- tax credit cut coming Jan 1!'. Seems people did just that. What happened in Jan?? Sales slide 75%, to 6500 units. What happened in Feb?? Sales slid another 12%, to 5750 units. Now, Tesla's monthly sales volumes traditionally turn 'volatility' to 10, but this is back to May-June sales numbers, in the peak of the "production hell". Let me know if anyone sees an op-ed wondering ''can Tesla turn the sales slump around??' anytime in March. ;)

Car & Driver piece is stating the '$35K' is actually $36,200 with the destination charge. Not sure offhand if that's commonly tossed in with a random MSRP or not. I'm willing to forgo that addition for this discussion. However what I am NOT willing to forgo is the included tax credit. $35,000 plus $3750 is $38,750. On the Accord side you have oil changes (At $50 per, times 1.6 changes per year: $80, most other maintenance is minor or deferred to the 75K or 100K miles interval. 3 reportedly costs about $200/ 10K miles in electricity, but don't forget you are also paying more tax on the purchase, more in insurance, around $1000 to upgrade your electric in the garage... these add to the bottom line too. And EV will never work for me for a number of reasons, but it might for my wife. I just don't see a clear cost advantage at this point. Maybe in 10 years.

When was the ME vette originally announced for production again? There's a difference between toying with a concept behind closed doors, and making a public official announcement it's going into production. 99.99999% of consumers have no idea of the long ME corvette proposals going back to '73.
