Camino- but you have stores in PA- NJ is a 'sparkless' state. DF - "damn pigs" ??? Interesting & annoying 'town-to-town' scenario. Me- I have a great, secluded location to set them off, a mile off the nearest public road. Worked great 4 years ago.

Summer's coming/here, and inevitably, I have received my annual fyreworks catalog in the mail, despite (& in spite ??) of the disclaimer that NJ & DE residents cannot buy, transport, possess or operate fyreworks without a permit. Many years ago, a temporary co-worker got me a great grab-bag of fun, and about 4 years ago, a brief-cased sized box of them --that survived a to-the-ground building fire (they were in the walk-in safe)-- likewise provided more fun. I'd really like to get some more, and the catalog is SO enticing. Pyro-Impact, Big Bomb Jumbo Cracker, Red, White & Boom... sigh! Anyway, there's a few fyrewerks stores in PA, one in Easton.... any of you C&Gers planning on obtaining any? I cannot- I have a NJ DL, and one needs a PA DL in PA. Willing to drive to PA....

I just do not see the point of the article, period.

Saying 'illegals aren't packing the ERs and most people who go there have insurance' is a major DUH! 340 million people, reportedly 12 million illegals, do the math.

Well, don't I look foolish. I think I was equating in my mind that the steering system is 'geographically contained', whereas the brakes run the full wheelbase, and 'all over the place' made think of a larger system. Yeah- that's it.

Shelby 427 Cobra, typical blue w/ white stripes, bellowing down highway. '56 Bel Air 4-dr sedan, white over orange creme, factory, decked out, looked flawless, for sale. circa '29 Model A pick-up, green over black w/ yellow wires, factory, flawless, poot-pooting along.

I went there for 1 year. The Ford GT designer was there at the time- I have pics of his school work, among others. I can only give my impressions WRT CCS at the point in time I was there- things may be different now, but I seriously doubt the fundamentals of the industry and CCS have changed much -yes, even after the last 2 years of the auto industry. I do not challenge the results if you graduate from there. The auto companies (globally) came TO THE SCHOOL and hired you upon graduation. That's pretty much amazing in ANY industry. And the education there is VERY good (AND exciting). It's a tremendous amount of VERY hard work, tho. However... the school definitely has strong cutthroat elements, on numerous levels. Especially & importantly: school-to-student. What I mean is- the school admits FAR more students than it intends to graduate. Now- on one level that's understandable- they want to graduate the best. Good for them. CCS also liked to broadcast it's '100% placement' of grads- a real selling point and another crushing weight on the graduating class size. These 2 factors lead to one result- a monster termination rate. Case in point: When I went in as a freshman- IIRC there were 124 of us. The previous year's graduating class was 12- and that was the largest class in recent consensus. You see the math there, right : 1 in 10 ?? Bad for you. The take away: the odds are strongly stacked AGAINST you graduating in Automotive Design by sheer numbers; by design, AND likely when that happens - you will be left with a BIG CHUNK of credits that WILL NOT transfer to another major. I went into VisComm and lost a lot of credits even after only 1 year. Imagine you are cut after year 2 or 3 {shudder}, and yes; that unquestionably happens. It's a very expensive roll of the dice both during school & in the aftermath of termination : you had better be friggin' amazing.

If causing a 'ruckus' was the prime goal, none of these attempts would've involved the intent for anything to explode. So no; they haven't "won", and I get sick of hearing that op.

I sold my wife's '87 Mustang when the heater core went- dealer quoted $600 back in the early '90s for the change. I remember driving down to hang out at the 24-hr Mobil Mart with friends and changing the heater core on my '64 Catalina in 20 minutes.

Reminds me: Sunday I saw a nissan sentra flat-towing a toyota corolla. Both respective bumpers were off & jammed inside the corolla. I wouldn't trust either to tow the other a mile before overheating and/or blowing the trans.

Mine varies depending on where the job is. Usually it's within 30 minutes, sometimes it's 45. An hour is generally where I draw the line as far as tolerance goes.

This is a 'left field' car- has never been in my sights. 'Good taste' is relative... but most would disagree.

I talked to the son of a friend of mine who recently passed away (unfortunately). During conversation, we got around to one of the vintage cars he owned, and as how I really loved it. Although he said a big wheel had a standing offer to fly in and write a check for a number of the cars (not this one necessarily), the son said he'd rather this one go to someone who really liked it. He drove it a few times as a kid. I left him my name & number. I told all this to my wife and you should've seen the tidy combo look of anger & horror she shot me. I'll not spill the beans as to what the car is, but suffice it to say it's monsterously huge, has been pointedly featured on these pages in pics/discussion, is "old" by all accounts, custom-bodied & reportedly 1 of 2. Luckily, there are 4 applicable parts cars that could come with it, I believe. What the hell did I do ????

One of those alfa-romeo 8Cs, parked. circa '48 Dodge sedan, grey primer, no eyes or glass, parked circa '62 Chevy Suburban, twin condition & location to the Dodge.

Not being a hardass with the above. Last (only) time I saw one sell it went for $450. I really don't collect stuff anymore (besides print ads); but at one time it encompassed TVs, typwewriters, phones, flashlights, lamps, radios, tools, etc etc. I have been slowly liquidating my inventory in the last few years (well... not my tools). As far as trades, I would talk over B-59 parts...
