  1. Ford Motor Company of today was Henry Ford's 3rd venture. FYI: As far as a 'twinkle in Henry's eye', Ford had a running car in 1896. Not sure when Olds first had a running car, tho Olds was of course organized in 1897. Ford may not have been first of the 2, but he was a lot closer than many realize. Ford inverted Olds' assembly line: Olds moved the workers to the car, Ford moved the cars to the worker.
  2. I am dumbfounded. DCX sells but 1,400 units annually of the older-than-dirt g-wagon and its "solid demand"??? Yet Cadillac increases October sales 4.8% over last year and its "battles" to keep momentum ??????????????????????????????????? Who in their right mind still believes there is no media bias, conscious or not??
  3. "October was a killer" October was up 4.8% over last year. We cannot sit and allow ourselves to be subjected to the endless manipulation of monthy (and soon hourly) sales data by 'journalists' in order to attempt to drum up some news drama.
  4. It absolutely does. Pontiac and it's imagery is in no way shape or form racist and those that say it is don't know the definition of the word.
  5. What a clusterF of a article!! Nice job FB; kudos to you for wrapping your brain around that double- & triple-talk. This one is outrageous tho: >>"This story's slideshow features major automakers only and excludes such {faux} blue-blood brands as Bentley and Maybach. This is because the ultra-pricey brands tend not to release monthly sales figures and often release sales data only once a year."<< What in the blue blazes does a lack of monthly sales numbers have to do with anything? The parent companies released projected annual sales numbers, both failed to meet them markedly. Turkey, end of story.
  6. Of course nothing against you HE, but why must (the collective) we be subjected to these pointless, misguided articles? If GM has 25% of the market but isn't building 'what Americans want' then what is toyota building with but 11% of the market; what Americans hate?
  7. The ladder collapsed long before '81; I would say in the late '60s in many instances. That's when pricing overlaps began in earnest. The article tho, is ridiculous... a cornicopia of stereotypes. Optional super-wide whitewalls- Cadillac has never offered different width whitewalls on any given model. Yeah- it's a generalization, but if a 'journalist' is going to address a specific problem, he must detail it with facts not wild imagination. His impressions were cemented as a kid only interested in the 'vette, not as a car guy who knew/knows what he's talking about. No one who knows from experience or research would ever claim a Bonneville is basically an Impala anymore than it is basically a Galaxie. Armchair idiot.
  8. The one I saw showed a blue Lucerne in a 360-degree rotation as it drove thru a giant airplane hanger.
  9. What is this piece exactly??"Battles to keep", "was flying, was selling, was, was, was"?? Sharks circling, hoping for blood? Cadillac was up 7.9% over Sept '04. Cadillac was up 4.8% over Oct '04.... OMG!! TROUBLE!!! Cadillac is going down!!! 'Journalists' suck. Another gripoe, this time directed at Cadillac GM Taylor: >>"Taylor is confident Cadillac still has a lot of opportunity to grow its volume.... “We have 30 years of not-stellar performance that we have to overcome.”<< He was talking about sales volume, then called the last 30 years 'not-stellar performance'. Cadillac will never exceed '78-79s sales performances; circa 375,000 units. And I hope they don't attempt to. All those hack journalists and hack analysts who think Cadillac should be all about ever-increasing volume have absolutely no clue whatsoever.
  10. Speedo #10, make & model? Speedo #11, the 'horseshoe', make & model?
  11. My '40 Ford coupe still has it's 239 flathead in it. :D
  12. I got me one o dem! Well, change 'curly' to wavy....
  13. Oldsmoboi: #5 is NOT Buick, but it IS Electro-Lumenescent lit. #6 IS backlit by daylight, tho it is also electrically lit at night. aaaantoine: #4 is not Studebaker. Wild tho, ain't it? I have always wondered if it 'wraps around' past 120 MPH...
  14. #7, Police certified, year/make? #8, Police certified, I'll take merely the make here
  15. LA- how much did you send him? e-Bay will reimburse you beyond the first $25 in the event a seller doesn't come thru. I had to use that feature once, only got $7 back on the $32 I paid. 7 bucks is 7 bucks. I would assume also that the holiday is a factor. But if you don't hear anything 5 days from yesterday, I would think you could send a semi-threatening e-mail. Another story: my phone line went down (Hello- dial up here!) and it took 6 frickin' days to get repaired. On the evening the phone went down, another auction of mine ended. Obviously, I could not contact the buyer and 6 days later there were 4 or 5 increasingly irate e-mails waiting for me, asking for address verification. Luckily, I have a 100% 135-ish feedback and the buyer was reassured by that. All turned out well. Point is: sometimes there are circumstances beyond seller's (and buyers) control.
  16. If the seller has a good feedback rating (over 95%) with a decent number of feedbacks (say over 25, but preferably over say 75), they have a sizable investment in their eBay reputation and I personally would rest easy. I would agree with Oldsmoboi on the time. I'm currently in the midst of my longest wait to date (since '99): I'm the seller, auction ended 10/16, no payment yet. I'm too nice: I haven't left negative feedback yet; buyer claims payment sent as of 11/5 but it hasn't arrived here. Another e-mail sent 2 days ago- no answer yet. This will be my first negative feedback left. Of course, there's no pressure on me in this case: I still have my item...
  17. Oldsmoboi was correct: #3 is from the '66 Toro. Flybrian: nope.
  18. #5, high-tech lighting (how so?), year & make: #6, low-tech lighting (how so?), year & make:
  19. A... a... a super... crew cab.... Of all these mammoth trucks (like the International & whatever the Chevy competitor is called), this is by far the most well-integrated. That said; OMG.
  20. Oooo; no on both.
  21. I get it: honda buys izusu for the trucks and keeps slapping together honda cars. I misinterpreted LA. I am wondering if & why isuzu is not working feverishly on a V-6 diesel for cars... a slice off the Duramax...
  22. #4; 'the bowl'. Year & make?:
  23. There... still... are... izusu cars??
  24. Only one 1 car offers a 7-spd auto, not "many" and all the import competition is much more expensive IIRC, not "for less money". Those type of blanket falsehoods are why no one takes anything they blither seriously. Old farts with old ideas.
  25. #3, 'the roller'. Make & model?
