  1. As YOUR OLDER driver, I definitely resent your comments toward what I would call the most hard to please clientel out there. It is the younger generation who will accept anything that comes along!
  2. Build and price works today!
  3. All the craze these days is for RWD! RWD is fine is younger drivers want speed and va--rooooom! However, as an OLDER driver I must tell you that I appreciate the FWD because of safer driving in winter conditions. I just sold my GMC Envoy which I thoroughly enjoyed except driving it in the winter. I now own and will keep my 2006 Lucerne FWD!
  4. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k12/Lucerne06/482ebe9a.jpg Thanks for the advice. This is a picture I took recently. Not very good in the rain.
  5. Great salesman, and he actually did know about the product. The front seat still felt a little strange to me, but that's only because I've gotten so used to flat benches with no support for so long, and I wasn't in it long enough to adjust it right. He told me to take it for the day too, just so she could see & drive it without having to come down, but I didn't. Should have, because now she isn't as gung-ho about ditching the Suburban right away. So now the real fun starts--trying to a) get her to actually drive one herself, and b) go through with buying one. I've done it with the past 3 vehicles, so I'll cross my fingers with this one. If I can't get her to go down tomorrow, I'll just take him up on the offer to take it home with me. It only had 18 miles on it, and was built in April. I didn't hear any odd sounds, everything was aligned, and it really for ONCE from GM, looks and feels like a car worth more than the pricetag. It passed my back seat test with flying colors too, and the trunk is definately large enough to fit our stuff. And FREAKISHLY quiet...it really is true! 165001[/snapback] I think the Lucerne should be your choice. Quiet?? HUSH QUIET, responsive and very ELEGANT! I have had mine for 4 months and would never consider trading for anything else. Being new here, I will try and add a photo of my Crimsom tint coat CXL... Guess I do not know enough to add the picture here... Sorry.
  6. Titanium is the regular two tone gray interior. I have the leather titanium in my '06.
  7. IT SEEMS UNWISE TO INTRODUCE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE LeSABRE AND PARK AVENUE AND THEN TURN AROUND AND DISCONTINUE THE CAR AND INTRODUCE ANOTHER IN IT'S PLACE TWO OR THREE YEARS LATER!! THIS DOES NOT SOUND LOGICAL!
  8. This is an update to my own post. First, NO there is at the present time no available upgrade to make the 2006 Buick Lucerne factory installed radio XM capable. Secondly, YES there is an upgrade in process at this present time and should be available in late July or August according to my contact at myradiostore.com. The Lucerne has a new radio format (not class II) and the old XMDGM100 upgrade will not work. Thanks for all who gave replies.
  9. LaCrosse Lucerne Lausanne From an older standpoint...
  10. Yes, I agree with you 100% on the black but on all the lighter colors it cheapens the car. I went down the line of Lucerne's at the dealers this evening and the chrome seems to cheapen the look of the car. They did not have black.
  11. On the Buick site "Build Your Buick" under the Lucerne CXL V6, there is now an option: GRILLE Grille, , chromed $195.00 Who would want the chromed grille? Very Tacky!
  12. AFTER REPORTING THIS PROBLEM TO BUICK FIVE (5) TIMES, THEY FINALLY GOT THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT. THIS IS A DIRECT QUOTE FROM REPAIR SHEET: DIAGNOSE AS PER ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS (TINA SCRIMPSCHER) REMOVE STEERING COLUMN AND INSPECT HARD PLASTIC BOOT AT END OF STEERING COLUMN. IF OK REPLACE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT. BOOT IS OK, HAS NO DENTS AND DOES NOT CONTACT STEERING SHAFT. REPLACE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT. THUMPING IS NOW GONE. RETURN ORIGINAL SHAFT TO VEHICLE AS INSTRUCTED BY ENGINEERING AND THUMPING DID NOT RETURN. THANKS JOHN SHEPHERD FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS DEFECT........

    Lucerne 2006

I do not know the author of this e-mail but they commented on my article of the possible Lucerne 2006 recall which was told me by my DEALERSHIP! "Lucerne06, Len has sent you this email from http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index.php. I noticed your posting regarding your dealer mentioning a possible recall. Thought you would like to know that from time to time, General Motors Engineering asks for additional information from the dealer community to better understand service and warranty issues. These requests are sent to the dealers on a document called an Engineering Information. These EI surveys usually result in additional Service Information being provided to the dealers to help diagnose and successfully resolve customer concerns. General Motors regrets that your vehicle had annoying feedback through the steering wheel. As with any EIs that are issued, we believe few vehicles will have this specific condition, and it will not develop on cars that do not initially have the complaint. In these situations, we may create specific instructions for repair of the condition. We do not anticipate this will lead to a recall. Hope this helps. Len Marsico Communications Staff General Motors --------------------------------------------------- Please note that Cheers & Gears Forums has no control over the contents of this message. --------------------------------------------------- Regards, The Cheers & Gears Forums team. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index.php" My reply: "Subject: Re: Possible Recall ( From Cheers & Gears Forums ) The problem is that the dealer just put a band aid on the problem and left it. I called Buick and they said that the dealer would find out more information on how to correct the problem and call today. However, as expected NO ONE called today and the problem persists. I do not intend to drop the complaint until it is fixed expeditiously since it is insane to purchase a new $33,000.00 vehicle and have immediate steering problems. However, from the comments from GM and the dealer this is NOT an isolated case..... I do not intend to be dismissed and or forgotten." I do not intend to purchase a $33,000.00 lemon. Isn't it strange that no one really cares after your purchase their product!!
  15. I went to the dealership last week to have the left front door check replaced on my 2006 Buick Lucerne which came cracked. While there I mentioned a problem I noticed especially prominent in city driving. When turning (especially to the left) I could feel something like a gear slipping. This was very hard to describe but felt pronounced in the steering wheel but no sound involved. When I left they told me there would probably be a recall on this when the problem was corrected. The service sheet said: BULLETIN #06-02-35-009 STATES NOT TO REPLACE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT OR STEERING GEAR. PERFORMED STEPS 1 - 5 AS PER BULLETIN. UNABLE TO REACH ENGINEERING AS IN STEP 6. ENGINEERING IS WORKING ON THIS CONCERN. TEMPORARY FIX PART NUMBER 12355066 - STRAP, NYL No Change In Problem ... ANYONE HEARD OF THIS?

    Lucerne 2006

Being new here I would like to know if anyone knows why no one ever finds a ming blue LeSabre or now the new Lucerne? My first choice was ming blue for my new Lucerne CXL but there was none anywhere.... I also have never seen this color in the LeSabre which I had previously. If this color is never used then why is it in the lineup? I think it makes a very regal looking automobile and especially would look great on the Lucerne. I did not want to wait to order one in the ming blue so got my second choice of Crimson Pearl... Just thought someone might have some statistics on this! Thanks!
  17. I have contacted the dealer and asked if there was an upgrade kit and also the buick parts online that you suggested and they all scratch their heads and seem to know nothing about an XM upgrade kit!
  18. In my opinion it is all trash. I have never driven a finer car than my Buick Lucerne. NEVER! EDMUNDS!
  19. The site you entered says it is for the "RAINIER"!
  20. I just purchased a 2006 Lucerne CXL with everything (ALMOST)! I have the 6 disk CD player but no XM radio. Is it a possibility that GM might have had the foresight to make this radio upgradable? It has the CAT button for XM radio; when you press it, states XM feature. Can you purchase some type of module to upgrade it to XM without all the add on crap? I am sure it is not, but it would be a great feature for those of us who purchase off the lot and then want to upgrade the radio in the dash to XM because the dealer was not bright enough to order XM on it. If anyone has a recommendation without all the add on's I would appreciate it tremendously. It has the antenna with Onstar already. Thanks!
  21. I chose Crimson Pearl. With: V6, Comfort & Convenience Package, Drivers Convenience Package, Luxery Package, Sunroof, 17" Chrome Wheels. Only one cheap looking item on car that I can find is the Chrome side piece LOOKS to be stuck on with double sided tape. With that one exception it's tops.
  22. I was noting it would be my last new purchase of a Buick!
  23. I just purchased my Buick Lucerne 2006 CXL. It is the last in a long line of Buicks I have owned for the past 25 years. I can truly say it is not a Buick of the past but a Buick of the future. I could not be more pleased. This is truly a great American Automobile and the finest Buick has produced in my opinion. I am sure many older Buick owners like myself will not feel comfortable in this updated Buick image. However, I think it must be the wave of the future if Buick is to survive. This is truly a tremendous automobile. I have never driven a more quiet, comfortable automobile. Buick and Buick fans should be proud that Buick is finally back on the right track!
