  1. They need to drop the prices on the new V-series (STS, XLR) is what they need to do!
  2. They were saying in the paper that GM buys $14 billion a year in parts from Delphi and GM fired back that they are probably over charged $2 billion a year for buying these parts. It coming down to a pissing match and its going to even uglier. Visteon is probably licking their chops at all the possible business they might be able to pick up when this all spins out of control.
  3. I agree with just about everything that has been said so far. Don't make so many that it becomes a lot queen and also keep the production line flexiable just in case. Yes keep it fresh unlike the PT which went on for quite a while without any changes and then people were like WTF?! A little off the subject but along the same lines, I hope they don't cave in and starting spittiing out the bejesus of the Solstice. Both these cars could eliminate the same fate as so many GM cars have not been able to do.
  4. GM should not pat themselves on the back yet. I would keep production numbers low so it doesn't have the same fate as the PT cruiser. The PTs were selling out all over the place when they came out, and now they are in the doldrums with that thing.
  5. Well its better than the Tahoe I will give it that. They seem to be taking baby steps with their new suvs. The Tahoe was hmm ok, then they said lets be a little more daring with the Yukon so... the Escalade will be the boldest I will assume. The standard Yukon I have to say looks better than the Denali. That seems to be the general consensous.
  6. They said it right in the article. Price is key. So cut the damn price and you might sell a few more. 50 grand for the SRT-6! I would take a Vette hands down anyday of the week over that car for that price.
  7. GM should buy the rights to the Duramax V8 and the 4 cylinders and the 6s and cut their losses. They should stop bankrolling this company, its a losing situation other than the diesels. Let them flush themselves down the toilet once and for all. Was that a little harsh?
  8. Do you think we will see the I6 in the next or the 07 Canyon? I hope so because that will for sure sell me on getting that as my next truck.
  9. So he is doing what GM did with the 07 Tahoe. He put on a new back end and a front end and said wa-la...a new car!!!! It looks like a mid 90's kit car to me.
  10. I'm not impressed. Just as I was 6 months ago when I saw the body shells. I was like okay they are coming out with an 04, 05, 06 and so on Tahoe. Take away the front end and the back end and you have the same Tahoe that has been out for 4+ years running. The interior is an improvement I will give it that. But I think my job at GM is in jeopardy now that the 07s are coming out. Not enough of a change as always. Sorry to be the party crasher but I have seen this time and time again. I hope the Escalade and Avalanche are more of a radical departure from the Tahoe. I have not seen those in the flesh yet, time will tell.
  11. Overall an amazing car but, the back end leaves a little to be desired in my opinion. I don't like the boy racer plastic tailights and the reverse light is in a horrible spot plus the placement of the Sky emblem looks like an aftethought. I don't know why GM makes a great looking car then ruins it by putting these cheap tailights on them. Look at the Equinox a great vehicle but it looks like they got the tailights from the Murrary autoparts store.
  12. I agree the front bumper with the fog lights needs to be changed. The fog lights look like an afterthought and a protruding plastic donut on the front. I like the rest of the truck especially the fender flares. I just wish from the start that they would have made the taillights on these trucks look more aggresive and less Nissan like from the 90's.
  13. They should have put the 6 in it in the first place. They would have had a lot more buyers. A friend of mine would have bought one but the towing capacity was not up to what he ended up buying...a Nissan Frontier.
  14. Bring this car. Please please please!!!! You know how many Gti converts there would be. This car has received rave reviews in Europe. http://vauxhall.co.uk/vxr/onTheRoad/astra/index.jhtml
  15. A friend of mine's girlfriend wanted to get an HHR but she opted for the H3 because for $20 more a month on a lease she was like why get the HHR. Nobody is dealing on them because they are the new "hot" GM vehicle.
  16. Thats is too funny where that picture was taken. Its in Michigan, in Pontiac, right on Opdyke road, just by the Silverdome. Yet I work at GM and I still have not seen one driving around the Tech Center.

    Buick Velite

Build it build it build it!!!!! A beautiful car that they should come out with to inject some excitement back into Buick. People would take noitce a lot more of Buick if they had this car.
  18. The second pictures which are of the chop remind me of a Volkswagen Phaeton.

    Forget the Escalade

I was hoping for something comparable to the old ZR2 platform. This would be very enticing and something I would be willing to buy to replace my ZR2 that I currently own.
  20. Yeah everybodys talking about the new GMT 900 platform. But what about this Colorado that they have in the photo as well. Let's start the discussion. http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive...ts/1674631.html
  21. Whats up with the emblem on the tailgate that looks strikingly like a ford emblem? Hmmm....
  22. Corporate excess as well as being out of touch with what is really going on in the trenches. That's my opinion from the inside and the outside. By the outside I mean anyone that has come to GM for a meeting sees nothing but excess. I have friends that work in the supplier industry and they are always saying to me what is going on with people just sitting around outside at the VEC building(new 6 story building in Warren) in the middle of the afternoon? Aren't they supposed to be working? They run into guys making well over $100,000 a year and drive company cars, have gas cards, cell phones and are always late to business meetings and are unprepared. But yet we are understaffed and overworked in my department. So what do they do? Let's layoff more people! They need to get in touch with us and communicate. We are trying to get things done without the manpower we need. Sorry you physically can't do it when you are 4 people short on each shift!! Projects don't get done on time safely, effectively, and in the way they want your test data to turn out, if you can't deliver on the things I just mentioned. Get rid of the cushiness at the top and give something to the little guys who put in the endless hours in the test labs! Whew!!!! I'm done.
