  1. Grew on me from git, but I see where the changes can be polarizing. The comments about the side window resembling the Accord are with merit.. But again I think they were fine like this too add a bit of youthful flare.. Which is now desperately needed in the segment of midsized luxo cars. Hence I have never dogged out Infiniti for its efforts.. As the 5 series A6 and E class.. Along with the REGULAR CTS are very mature looking and that's who they tend to appeal to. Only when U get there M, RS, AMG, or V variants does a youthful appearance shine thru. This remedies that even on regular trim.. But alas. To each his own and we'll see how it fares in the market place. Personally, as I've said dozens of times before, I'm moving up to the CT6 for size and my, ironically, more mature outlook on things automotive
  2. This reminds me of a very very old thing from the early years of automodom.. both Henry Ford and Billy Durant went after basically Farmers in trying to appeal to them with farm vehicles.. One of which was a Farm car called the Samson Car. Powered by a Chevy engine, the Back was a bed for carrying stuff, but U could quickly install or remove the seats in the rear to accommodate a family of 9 or haul cargo. I don't thing it ever really got off the ground tho.
  3. Its similar in size to the current 5 series.. I think they probably dropped the size a few inches to 194-195 inches. It's currently (CTS) 195.5, while the 5Series is 194.6. So yeah.. I could see that. I think what U are gonna see is a tweener pricing strategy more than anything else.. but the escalated trims will raise the prices to the same level as the German competition. My guess still is that the CT5 is going to be priced like the now $40K BMW 330i, but obviously larger.. SO I figure starting around $45K with the 2.0LTT, which is still $8K less than the 530i. Most don't realize that is what is done with the CT6 and XT5 already. A CT6 starts out at $51K, but in luxury trim where in truth the 7series, for instance, doesn't even have a competitor (4cylinder engine) .. but once U get to the level where a 740i starts... the CT6 Sport 3.0LTT swoops in with a price point that isn't far behind at $70K.. and if U go Platinum.. it is right on top of the 740 at about $88K. I think the confusion comes because there is an idea that the A Class/CLA and A3 are the proper spots for compact luxos and the segment leader, 3Series has now grown to almost previous gen Camry size. To me the CT5 is a nice departure.. that may flip the script and bring in new buyers that were turned off by the still perceived snooty look of even the current CTS. Lets face it.. as beautiful as it is, the GEN3, it still comes off as more of an STS, or mature Mid-Size than it does 5Series, boring but Camry-ish look for millennial. This CT5 looks genuinely sport in both forms
  4. I loved the Escala and I love this. Coupla observations.. I see exactly what they did.. but because of size, the design exercise of the longer Escala (2010.5 inch vs this being probably 193-195 inch) could not be completely translated over to a smaller car particularly in profile. I still doubt that the CT5 will be much smaller than the current car with the CT4 still yet to debut. I am betting a longer wheelbase for both, even if the actual length drops a bit. Anyway,.. The black "faux window in the rear doesn't even bother me because tinting the car as I always do will make it a moot point. Only real disappointment is the door handles aren't the hideaway like the Escla. So cool that they are done with the 3.6L NA in this car and have gone onto feature forced induction as a sole means of propulsion. I am expecting changes in current HP rating from those as well. If the SPORT is available with the 3.0L... outside of an actual V, I see very little reason to break from the "Y" philosophy and offer a V-Sport. What I have noticed Cadillac has done of late with the VSeries program is put them on their website as separate models. Thus allowing them to stick tothe Y with Lux, Prem Lux, Platinum cars even in the V As a current CTS owner I love it.. and look forward to the VSeries debut in a year or so. I'll be sitting that one out as I want to go into the CT6-V, but curious and excited nonetheless Again its basically the same vehicle..there's an obvious nod to the Escala in the C-pillar, but what some seem to have issue with is the curved point.. I think it was added to give some flare..: the one singular interior shot looks to be very nice.. The fastback design comes off as nice and a very welcome change that may just shake things up a bit in the mid-size luxury category. I remember reading here just a few weeks ago, someone saying that the new CT5 wasn't a departure from the current one.. and once again that is proven wrong. The idea has been floating for sometime that the Escala was the design exercise to bet on for cues towards the new Cadillacs.. this is basically a 85% view of that car. This is its competition.. I'm inclined to once again side with Caddy
  5. For one.. Americans seeking a better vehicle than those asswipes in Germany can provide.
  6. No.. I think the head room will be fine due to the seat placement. Word is special attention was paid to avoid exactly what U bring up. The Trunk is even going to be as large despite outward appearance. Second.. it seems to me that the alternative would have been a filled metal section. With this.. properly tinted windows will make it a moot point and completely unnoticeable

  8. I'm still getting one... Screw it. I snoozed... well U know the saying. Compared to the Ms and the AMGs still a helluva bargain, and better looking to boot. An M760 costs almost $160K, the 2019 BMW ALPINA B7 xDrive.. $140K. Cadillac needs to price itself accordingly simple and plain The brand is luxury and in no way should be confused with bargain. It just doesn't make sense and I've been saying it since the ct6 debuted that once it had a V-8 there is absolutely no reason why it should not go price for Price up against the 7 Series Audi A8 or even the S-class.
  9. That made me laugh.. causing me to amend my other vote on your last post. It is standard.. but I think it should get as much press if its a foreign co as it does when its an American based one
  10. Wow.. way to minimize a blatant criminal act by a major multinational corporation. CRIMINAL. Defrauding the consumers and the gov'ts of the entire planet. AMAZING. No.. Sorry Robert. It wasn't just about poor emissions. I won't even get into the situations where the foreign makers are having as many, if not more concentrated recalls than Ford and GM these days. BMW.. cars fires.. Toyota.. acceleration deaths.. Honda.. ****ty transmissions and airbags.. Hyundai/Kia/Gen.. for just being liars about everything.. VW.. diesel issues.. Fiat.. just for being a POS. YEAH YEAH.. GM had its ignition recall debacle. But as messed up as that was.. it literally boiled down to a cheap fix to a cheap problem that wasn't necessarily an engineering issue so much as a budget issue, and people with common sense avoided anyway simply by not having as many keys as a janitor at a 200 room facility on their rings. I won't belittle it.. again it was a dumb move on their part.. but MY GOD.. VW literally went so far as to create a device to fool emissions standards into allowing their cars to pass.. then once the OBD port was disengaged.. VIOLA.. back to poisoning the air we breath.. But to U.. Its no big deal. Gotcha.
  11. Crazy to me that if this was GM or Ford.. the news would report on it everyday here in the US. I asked several people have they heard about it.. and each one of them said no. I asked a few about the Firestone debacle at Ford from 20 years ago.. or the GM 4-6-8 engines from 35 years ago.. and each one of them remember it.. and they were all no more than 30 years old themselves
  12. In terms of Blazers tho.. how did the CUV just out-handle a down to earth 2019 Nissan Altima SR VC-Turbo which is lighter by 750lbs.. with the plain Jane BS GM suspension? https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/blazer/2019/2019-chevrolet-blazer-vs-2019-nissan-altima-comparison-review/
  13. after getting a warning for cursing some of U out I've chosen to go ahead and let U sorr... er... U good natured.. people talk trash about me and the sexy hot brand known as Cadillac.
  14. Oh. @Robert Hall ain't nothin aspiration to me about a $85K Grand Cherokee. Want! Go Buy! That's it. I "aspire" to walk into a dealership and get... Not!!!🤣
  15. Its no excuse. What was your interpretation of that abandoned tagline introduced by two execs from Europe who are no longer with the brand for more than a year? Come on... I'm not gonna go all insulty here, but use your head. WHY THE FUKK.. do people believe that because Cadillac has the VSeries line they are supposed to be ALL PERFORMANCE suddenly? Mercedes has the AMG line and they are not even considered Sport-Lux... they are tagged LUXURY. Why would Cadillac not get the same treatment when they in reality basically invented luxury? Because Americans hear something an run with it.. they take little time to investigate the real deal. Cadillac has luxury cars.. they have sport trims. They are not and should not suddenly be considered the new Pontiac.. as in GM's Sport/Performance brand. Its silly..
  16. I know a few people with some of the exact vehicles U speak of.. and let me tell U.. not one of them take those vehicles to a damn track.. they do an occasional LUNGE from the stop light. Furthermore.. if U really believe that those vehicles can handle as well as a performance car then I say get your insurance policy up to date.. and let the right people know where U have it stored
  17. Who made RWD PROPER in a CUV in the first place? I've been going to the track my whole life it seems.. certainly spirited driving as well.. who the hell is regularly taking their top heavy CUV to the track.. or even hitting curves on the road like a BOSS? Proper RWD CUV for hi-performance is the epitome of an oxymoron. Ferdinand and millions of Porsche lovers past can't even believe we are having this conversation and including the name Porsche. Hell.. I'm sure BMW purists feel the same
  18. And THIS is the reason why I act the way I do..🙄 Guy.. U have never even been an XT6. The XT5 pulls off plenty in terms of luxury. When the Premium Lux upgrades are thrown in.. it absolutely is ever bit as luxo as a GLE. The XT6 is literally starting off on the same interior level as the Premium Lux.. hence the price being slightly more than bargain shoppers want to see. And track times are not a requirement in a vehicle this size. The XT6 is 7 inches longer than the Cayenne.. Why would one even compare the two. If U had said XT5.. maybe.. but even then in terms of handling I'd have to say again.. DRIVE IT FIRST.. and get back to me about the handling capabilities.. Either way.. the Cayenne is obviously more focused. Cadillac is not Corvette. And if the Corvette came out with a CUV, I'm sure it would have no issue dealing with Porsche's entry. And before U say something about that "IF," remember that BMW's X5, even in M form is not exactly purpose built to go up against a Cayenne and win. Cadillac, in terms of luxury is more of a Benz in CUVs and a BMW in cars when we are talking performance trim for trim. Look the RX does what its supposed to do for the target market its going after.. ones that usually pay the most bills these days and that the FEMALE DEMO. Hence the reason why the top selling CUVS have been the RX, XT5/SRX, and the MDX. If Cadillac has to cater to women, to make the bottom line fat so they can cater to me with cars that set my soul on fire and an Escalade that makes my heart sing.. then cool. Cadillac could right now (and I hope they aren't basing their decision to do so by my statement) say that each one of the XTs are getting the TTV6 treatment and I'd still be waiting for the Escalade and the CT6-V
  19. It did. And I confirmed. But only in AWD.. If I left it on Sport, which is kinda a separate AWD, it defaulted back to Tour. If U leave in regular AWD it stays
  20. Go back and read my entire post above. @dfelt I literally ran up to my Caddy dealer 15 minutes ago.. I told my sales guy that I was thinking of bringing my gf up to look at it but I needed to confirm something first. I then was able to drive it around the parking area without him even gettin a tag.. . U are correct that if U use the Steering wheel control YES it is more complicated.. But that is a redundant control and the CENTER CONSOLE buttons are right there to give U instant access to the settings with a push of the button. It did not require me to stop at all.
  21. Fanbois, people who just don't care because they just don't, or people who want what they want NOW.. what's it matter? This 70% logic applies to every vehicle on the market. I can walk into a BMW dealership right now and get a $115K 2019 BMW 750i for $96K. Because its been on the lot for a few months.. a 2018? I can get for $30K off right now. Brand new.. just wanting to be moved. Or U could've just walked in and just bought the thing at MSRP a few months ago, because U wanted the car.. and didn't feel like waiting. Some people can call it stupid but others say "U only live once... money ain't gonna do jack for U when U are in the ground" Seriously bro.. Oh to @surreal1272. My apologies too. Look above this and U will see my constructive contributions.
  22. @dfelt The AWD system controls on the XT5 are on the center console unless they changed it for 2019. The XT4 is the same last I drove. They are very simple to use buttons @ykX U know what.. I apologize for coming off as a dick.. my bad.. was a very frustrating last coupla days with corporate tax time. Accountants getting on my nerves and my outlet is car forums.. I came off wrong. U and I have never had a beef and again.. my apologies The AWD system in the XT4 is switchable, I'm know for fuel economy reasons.. but switchable does not mean one can't leave it on if they want during power cycle. Meaning once the vehicle is turned off.. the driver can leave it on for future use. From the XT4 and XT5 manuals which are avail on line as well. So point again is that CHOICE is my favored option as it is most desirable for me as much as the CHOICE and OPTION are synonyms. If I was an owner of a Cadillac or Acura cuv, I see zero reason why CHOICE would take me to the Honda. The reason pointed out by U in regards to liking the fact that the ACURA leaves its AWD system on all the time is also moot.. as the CADILLAC system allows the owner CHOICE and the OPTION to leave their's on as well. ESSENTIALLY Cadillac's system offers TWO takes on AWD in the XT5/4/6. The SPORT AWD and regular AWD. If the owner leaves the vehicle in SPORT.. yes the AWD system will revert back to FWD when the ignition is cycled. Ifthe leave it regular AWD.. the vehicle will STAY in AWD until the owner changes it even if the car is power cycled
  23. No doubt. This isn't even a Cadillac screw up but a GOODCAR one. I really wish Americans would start thinking on their own again and stop with this word for word interpretation and endorsement by magazines and media. That's how an election got effed up.. well partially. No Doubt. Getting outta my V and getting into a CT6 felt like I had moved from a 3 bedroom apt to a 6 Bedroom.
