    Death of the V8?

Same thing was said after the 1973 Oil Crisis.
  2. So this is just BS from Bob Lutz then?
  3. Stronger how? In product? Buick has two new products the Lucernce and LaCrosse with the soon to be Enclave making number 3. Pontiac has the Solstice and 3 different g6 models, plus the Torrent, Vibe and soon the rebadged Cobalt, G5. Not to mention the 08-09 GTO is a go according to Bob Lutz. Pontiac also outsells Buick. So how is Buick the stronger brand? All of Buicks demographics are dying off.
  4. Yeah, we need names like G6 or GWizz. They really mean something. What would you suggest? Do you have any suggestions?
  5. I guess you guys haven't heard. GTO is back on track for 2008. This thread was premature as usual.
  6. From the Cleveland Plain Dealer... Dowling is motoring editor of the Sydney Morning Herald.
  7. Underneath an 04 GTO for comparison. http://images5.fotki.com/v60/photos/4/4207...9-vi.jpg?650488
  8. LOL!! What? Are you on crack?
  9. Bland compared to to what? An angy appliance looking TransAm? A Viper? The GTO is not bland. Tell me what a new GTO should look like? It fits right in with the old school crowd just fine. Compare a 1970 GP to a 2006 GP.
  10. Why does that post sound like an obituary? I'm not convinced the GTO is dead forever.
  11. That's right from November. Same story basically. So to me it's not news. So DC contacted you directly and told you in no uncertain terms 35K units for 5 years and that's it?
  12. Yeah.. From allpar.com back in November of 2005 from a DC insider.
  13. That is old news you have here. Insiders at Allpar.com said production would begin in March 2007 as an 08 Model back in November of last year.

    G5

Rplacement for Sunfire. Pontiac is already on the record saying they did not want a rebadge of the Cobalt. This quote from Pontiac was even quoted on this site several months ago.
  15. You probably have. We cruise all over the place when in Ocean City.
  16. Thanks! As you can see I'm a big Pontiac fan. I hope you get that big ol Catalina. I love those big Pontiacs. Up until about 3 years ago I also owned a 65 Grand Prix. I was in the process of restoring it, but just had to many projects going. So sadly I had to sell it. Now I wish I kept it. It would have made a great rat rod with some nice 18" Torque Thrust Wheels
  17. It Cruisin Ocean City, MD every May. If you haven't gone to it you need to go. Over 4000 cars of every kind show up for 4 days of cruising and street action. ;-)
  18. I can the rear seat will be just as non existant as the 4th gens.
  19. Yes, it actually is. See some of old school GTO guys like the new GTO despite what you may have heard to the contrary.
  20. Thanks. The GP is my wife's car. Right now the 04 GTO is my daily driver. I just picked up a 1992 Sunbird, yeah I know! That will by my daily driver from now on. The 67 is powered by a 455ci Pontiac punched out to 462ci. pushing over 500HP. The car is a street car BTW, not some race car with no plates. It gets driven alot during the Spring and Summer months to car shows and cruises. It never gets towed anywhere, including to the track. I always drive it to the track. Run low 11's to high 10's and drive home. I also drive the 67 3 hours each way to a big car show in MD every year. No problem at all. Some video of the 67. http://www.nikivee.com/nvatgeezers.wmv
