I want to paint my headlights...
If you look at the original concept, they weren't black, but a brushed silver:

More rumours about the G6
Again, at the G6 Forum, I heard from someone that a G6 GXP is coming. It has a HFV6 3.6L churning 270hp. Also heard is that the LX9 will depart, replaced by LZ4 from the Impala. If this is true, here's my guess: Base 4-cyl -> ECOTEC 2.4L Base 6-cyl -> 3.5L LZ4 (essentially former GT, base V6 gone completely) GT -> 3.9L LZ9 (Former GTP. GT is an overlap with the base right now anyways) GXP -> 3.6L LY7

Wierd car engineering designs
Speaking of dead space, this reminds me of my friend's Mazda 3. He has the 2.3L DOHC in the hatchback, and with the engine installed, it only took half of the engine bay. I'll probably buy it off him when he's sick of it (he's thinking about an RX-8 already), and drop a small-block in it. It'll probably fit

Wierd car engineering designs
I guess the engineers nowadays are really up to something. If you look under the hood of the Civic, you'd notice there is absolutely NO space for any kind of work. This leads to strange engine layouts The other day when me and my friends were holding a car wash fest, the guy with a Civic Si was changing his headlight bulbs to the white ones. Interesting enough, you have to take out the whole coolant tank to reach the bulbs. I accidently picked it up, and coolant was leaking from it. I started hearing cursing and foul language. In short, you had to unlatch the battery, and remove the coolant tank for you to get to the bulbs. Car engineers these days... Or should I say Honda engineers?

Buick Statesman?
Exactly what I was thinking about brand position. But no pickups in the line please, give it being car-based nor truck-based.

It's here...
Well you have to understand, those rags and people are just picking bones out of an egg. I confess that I sometimes do that, especially to my Cavalier. No matter what you do you will still get complaints. That's life. And back to the badges, I saw one up close yesterday at the dealership. To my horror, that thing's not even a chrome badge. It's some flat vinyl sticker that look exactly like a dealer badge. They officially lost their mind... stupid marketers...

I wont be on much anymore.
Or was that Edmunds? I do remember your school was blocking something.

New Camry LE (run-of-the-mill version) revealed
No doubt the high-res one will be higher. By no means the Camry's display on the instrument cluster high resolution. As I mentioned, that thing is an alphanumeric display, same ones found on 90's pagers. And how is that high tech? And how exactly a typical person would be able to tell that they need one in the first place? Are they going to show a GPS map on that puny display? All that display needs to do is to communicate the text DIC message to the driver clearly. And why do you need a high resolution one? All you are trying to convey is that how cheap the materials are, for bashing purposes. From an engineering point of view, this is actually a good engineering decision. Cost saving while it does the job. Go do some real homework before you come in, post some random pictures and write .

Well in this case it appears that you are the design expert. Can you list all the different design schemes you have on mind?

I don't know about Yellow. Saw the press photo of the Solstice GXP and absolutely disgused by it. The red one was so much better.

Test drove HHR 2LT and Malibu MAXX SS
I see your point about the HHR. Although I haven't test drove one, but I have been in a Cobalt. A midsize fits in with me so much better. Although I'm not a fan of the Malibu's look (even after the mild refresh), I'm a fan of its utility. Great choice.

Another point of interest: Side airbags standard for Aveo. Optional on Yaris. Beat that! EDIT: They always had it... my bad...

MY2007 Early Release Info!!!
For real. Here's what you need to do: 1. Set your system time to at least after coming Monday (3/27/2006, I set mine to 3/28) 2. Go to this link: http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/dmdindex.htm 3. Click 2007, Cars/Light Trucks 4. You can actually get in and see 2007 info! So far there isn't much though. 2007 Aveo, Terraza, CTS, and some others are up. Oh, and the current Silverado is renamed Silverado Classic. So I think there WILL be a 2007 Silverado.
