First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
I hope there's a grille available that's not made from chicken wire. Other than that, it sounds like a very promising sports sedan.

Ed Welburn "VP of GM Global Design Shares His Passion"
I like it a lot more than the cheesy new ones that talk about hammering nails and turning things on..

You can make your own biodiesel instead of converting it to run on pure veggie oil. (Old) Top Gear making their own biodiesel and running it on a Volvo 760 diesel...

George Washington in pinyin (Chinese romanization).

I did 133mph today
Was it a quattro or did it have the CVT? Imagine that same car with 325 more horses. That would be the RS6.

Don't change your oil every 3000 miles! Because CR & CNN SAYS SO!
And since the filter is on top and I use an oil extractor, there's no need to climb under the car. It makes changing the oil a cinch.

Don't change your oil every 3000 miles! Because CR & CNN SAYS SO!
There's a canister that holds the filter. You unscrew the top, remove the paper filter, and put a new one in.

Don't change your oil every 3000 miles! Because CR & CNN SAYS SO!
Bimmer gets an oil change every 10K (synthetic), Ody gets an oil change every 7.5K (dino), and the Passat gets an oil change every 5K (synthetic). It's usually the filters that need changing (a cinch in the Bimmer) before the oil; people have sent oil samples to labs and 10K old mi synthetic is usually fine. None of them burn any oil though I'm weariest about the Passat, which only has a ~4.2 qt oil capacity, a turbo but no turbo timer, and reported sludge issues. I might halve it to 2.5K. PepBoys always has synthetic for sale.

New Tag Line
I can read fine. You doubted that the tagline was "the best choice for an Asian based car manufacturer" and then alluded to Pearl Harbor. Do you have any more rude and offensive comments to make? :AH-HA_wink:

Will New Fuel Economy Standards Make Cars Less Safe?
FWIW, there are only two vehicles on the market right now that will meet the proposed 2020 CAFE average: the Prius and Civic Hybrid. Designers, engineers, and planners still have a long way to go...

Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Imperial Japanese Navy, not the whole of Asia, and certainly not South Korea...

-----> Julie's new Mercedes Benz
Cool. We used to have a late 70s/early 80s faded-yellow 300SD. Wouldn't die until finally some kid backed into it and destroyed the A/C compressor.

Quiz: How well do you know the United States?
I think it's a lot harder now than it was in the '90s, when all my grandparents did it. They said back then the evaluators were friendly old men who were lenient and gave hints. One of them even took out a quarter so my grandfather could blurt out "Qiaozhi Huashengdun!" and pass the test.

Updated Pontiac G8 page
Not bad. The standard GT wheels make it look like a slightly blander 528i. The ASTRA has similarly few color choices.

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
The fleet 3.5 is OHV. It's the 3.6 (252 hp, 17/26) that's DOHC.

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
Maybe on the fleet 3.5 (which already has the same fuel economy as a Camry V6)?

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
Fixed. Michigan/Midwestern accents are awesome, btw.

BTW, the Passat 2.0T already has a 4-cyl/6AT powertrain, albeit a turbocharged and direct-injected one.

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
That would be much better, especially if it were on all Malibus, not only as a $2795 option. Now *that* would be a bold move.

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
It reminds me of the '04 Malibu ads, which also pointed out the Epsilon (1) "global architecture" and proclaimed itself a game changer. The difference is back then the emphasis was on panel gaps, and now they've actually got a very good looking car. The +2 MPG hybrid numbers do look a bit lame though, especially since the public is used to hearing 40+ MPG from a hybrid.

Car Spotting - European Edition
Agreed that the 159 is the sexiest wagon evar, especially in black. In the spirit of this thread, here's the one I saw Salzburg... Absolute power, corrupting absolutely in Prague. Pilsner, too: If the 159 takes the title of sexiest wagon, the Renault Megane can be the funkiest. This one was in London. Me likey: A Ford Fiesta ST, also in London. It's very Germanic (the car, not the city). Hydrogen 7: Rare Focush shedan shomewhere in Holland. Looks like a Esh40:
