TCC: New Acadia Spy Pics!
I know! Add body cladding! (It worked surprisingly well for the GMT800 Denali.) And I think this is the reason why the Outlook isn't offered in black. Black is such a "professional grade" color.

Consumer Reports: Lucerne
GM needs to improve their base models, particularly in the powertrain and suspension department. I'm sure the $37K CXS is nice, but the majority of consumers (and CR) go for the V-6. Buick should replace the 3800 and Northstar with a sole 3.6 HF V6 and have CXS-quality suspension on all models, IMO.

"GM takes flack..."
You obviously like telling people that. Or you have a bad memory (you already told him that a few posts ago...)

TCC: New Acadia Spy Pics!
It's nice, if a bit too much like the Outlook. At least it's PROFESSIONAL GRADE! I hope the tailgate is not final... hell, it even has a mount for the Saturn logo.

Man, I'm excited. I can't wait for it to come out... hopefully it'll be a very, very early '08 model.

Buick previews 2 new models
Oh, no, I agree, the Enclave is a nice and elegant Buick. It definitely looks expensive and "up there." It's just certain elements about it that bug me.

Whens the "hybrid" (BAS) coming? Or the FlexFuel version? Wake up GM!!! With that said, I do like it... it prevents the HHR from being a poseurmobile. Wish they'd do something about the headlights, though. They look like the NASCAR paint-on ones.

Buick previews 2 new models
Meh, I still think the Enclave looks all bug-eyed and weird. I prefer the Outlook, or at least the Outlook's exterior.

Fit the new Element?
Funny... I noticed the same thing today... a really old man in a bright blue Fit Sport.

May 2006 Sales: General Motors Corp.
They still need a proper minivan... the Lambda utes are rather thirsty.

"We Build Confusion"
Yeah... just look at how successful the GTO is.

Popular Mechanics' '08 Malibu
"Original" looks like a 9-5. I'm coming to like the '08 Malibu... I prefer its more formal greenhouse to the Aura's.

Pizza! Pizza!
Whole Foods's pizza is pretty horrible, btw, and it's really overpriced (per lb.) This is the busy one on Fairfax and 3rd, too, but at least it's better than any of the crap at the "Farmers Market" across from it.

Pontiac: Nothing but rwd cars?
No AFAIK the media loved the new Olds... hell, I have the 9/99 issue of C&D with me, and they ranked the Alero third in a $20K family sedan comparo, beating the Camry (4th) and Malibu (7th)... "First the Aurora, then the Intrigue, now the Alero. If Olds doesn't know it off soon, it'll emerge as one of the world's great car companies. GM will hate us for saying so, but the Alero makes you wonder why anyone would buy a Pontiac Grand Am." "... best-in-class 0.81 g worth of skidpad grip. Combine that with the most effective brakes... and the Alero scores a 10 in our handling category. This automobile simply took a butcher's cleaver to the diabolical roads of southern Ohio." "... if your daily commute includes mostly fast sweepers, deadly hairpins, and decreasing-radius oh-my-Gods, the Alero is your mount. 'I never thought I'd see a small Olds outhustle and outhandle the Japanese,' said Spence. The Bolero Alero." I keenly remember R&T gushing over the Alero, too, and M/T (back in '97) comparing the Intrigue favorably with the "new" Camry and Maxima. GM killed the wrong brand, or at least the wrong cars. Imagine a Buick Aurora...

5* for Lucerne in Crash Tests
I thought we established that none of this ("Lucerne and the G-6 were only sedans to get 5 stars") is true...

Mitsubishi could withdraw from U.S.
They're finally sending the ones from overseas... the Outlander and upcoming Lancer. The "Project USA" ones made in Normal, IL (or is it IN?) are fat, cheapy made, and crude looking. They have good bones and would do wonders with some finishing work. A Galant with the Taiwanese Grunder's interior would be nice, for instance.

....
The front doors look shared with the Aura. Yeah, it's def an Ep.
-
....
If that's the case, I find this more attractive than the Aura (so far), surprisingly. It's a bit like the new S80. Hopefully the interior won't be a let down.

Wow, it looks really good and really big for a Malibu. I'm getting a Phaeton/Flying Spur vibe, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It looks awfully wide for an Epsilon, too. Are we sure this isn't an Epsilon II? Is GM developing any other FWD platforms we don't know of?

Ehh, this thread is getting out of hand...

Yeah, NY pizza is awesome. I love Lombardis!

SCOOP: Holden's all-new VE in the open
Even with the wing it's not bad. The LWB version looks properly long, almost like a Maybach 62.

Do you like where you live...
Palos Verdes, CA is nice, but I'll probably never be able to afford living here on my own.

Chery Design Center
It's one of those weird Chinese-English translations, like Guhng Boe to Kung Pow.
