  1. Looks like a bloated pig. Very Altima/Passat-like. They can't change it now, but whatever. It makes today's model look blocky. Just don't bring a coupe or RL, b/c that would just set up the Death of Pontiac. And the low tail is ugly looking, remindds of the Monte Carlo, RIP. I love it! Looks as if hewn from a single sheet of metal. That is beautiful!
  2. omg. that really isn't good. anyway. they need out of the premium market and let audi handle that b/c audi isn't good enough to REALLY compete with Mercedes-BMW Kill Bug. Beef up Rabbit to be hip and cool. Audi needs A1 to slay Mini. Jetta needs redo to fight imports better. Kill Eos, really. Passat needs redo to fight Accord. Keep Phaeton away, and give the A8 resuscitation! Bring on Tiguan whilst CUV's are in vogue. Bring Touareg down a notch. No VW needs a V-10, no matter how big. Leave that for Cayenne. Do all that, and they got a chance.
  3. 7 Depth and effort, a bit messy, but nice perspective and interior 3 Shoe-in win! 2 Good lines, vary your designs a bit more!
  4. Is it not a sad day when Porsche is actually concerned about a VW?
  5. Silver is a more flattering color on the Camaro than on the Challenger. I'm just unsure of how the front and rear will look in silver. I'll take one in the nice orange.
  6. That is a digusting over-exploitation of the 4DC bodystyle. If they do style it that way, they need to look at their past. I always thought the SAAB 96 was a gorgeous vehicle. They need to use that as inspiration. I'm all for the Aero-X looks in the front, but if Saab wants to tell itself that it's "Born From Jets", take inspiration from vehicles that really were. I don't think any Saab will be "Sweden's Style Leader" over Volvo, but a vhicle like this certainly will give it a fighting chance.
  7. Cadillac should use that when they end Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit. But they should change "any man" to anyone" to keep the fairer sex off thier backs. And Cadillac must be good if they beat Nordstrom. On more than on occasion, I bought shoes from Nordstrom, wore them once for an event, and took them back for the same value. Thats a hell of a good deal. Can you do that in a Caddy? Can't do that in a Lexus or BMW :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Really? I knew the earlier generations were, but they really made it seem so macho in the last generation, it seemed like a "real truck", ya kno? I guess GM and Ford have wrapped the public's (or at least my own) mind around the fact that a pickup and a SUV platform HAVE to be shared. Anyway, what I'm saying is, the pickups, the fullsize vans and Ford's old as hell Panther are the few BOF platforms that won't die or go unibody. And maybe those will start to go away. Who knows?
  9. So wait... this is going to be another uni-body platform for Jeep? It better be Trail-Rated! And also... if Durango moves to this new uni-body platform, where does this put that Caliber-based midsize-crossover that has been spotted testing? And this marks another departure from BOF trucks in Detroit. Ford was planning to put NG Explorer on a uni-body, right? And GM has Trailblazer dying, or at least moving to Lambda with a different name. After that, GM has NO BOF midsize SUVs. So that segment altogether is dying. Chrysler is being frugal in eliminating BOFs now, unlike Ford which has Edge, Flex and Explorer looking for the same piece of pie on unibody platforms. And GM which, no matter what people say, has the Lambdas, great vehicles, killing the GMTs. All in all, GM is going to get the most out of this BOF exodus. Ford will have a thousand uni-body SUVs, killing the real trucks in the line-up. Chrysler will have no REAL SUV left to sell. And GM will emerge as the only place for a REAL SUV in Detroit. Better for GM!
  10. This car was a mistake. They need to let it die, and eliminate this, a remnant of Daimler's Vader-like influnce over the company. And also, looking now, this thing is really ugly and unexpressive. It had a chance, look at the Mercedes SLK. They could have revamped this like they did with that model but Benz wanted to see Chrysler wither on the vine. SAD.
  11. Uhh... I was using blatant sarcasm. Of course Corvette could never be a brand of its own!
  12. WAAAAAY too borrowed. I love the front end. It's expressive and sexy somehow. But A pillar back, I see RDX, and every other small CUV. And the rear looks like a swollen GTI/ Rabbit /Golf. I want that front end on a Jetta MCE. And BTW... German interiors are getting to businessy... they end up looking fussy and overly puposeful. That interior just doesnt seem like a fun place to be.
  13. How about we take this Corvette as a brand idea one step forward... Kappa based small RWD hybrid coupe Alpha based small RWD Mazda RX8 style coupe. Zeta based RWD Corvette Four Door Coupe (Don't call it a sedan!) Maybe a diesel version? Y-body based classic Corvette, with pop up headlights! And a whole new platform for a RWD midengine exclusive. And of course to save money, add available V6s and rebadge each of these as Cadillacs, Saabs, Pontiacs, GMCs, Hummers, and Buicks (Reatta anyone?) Corvette= RWD front engined Chevy small block V8 coupe. Why mess up near-perfection by expanding it?
  14. Fixed. Isn't SAAB a bit classier than Toyota, Hyundai, and Kia? Good ones. I like how you used that forgotten 93 concept as base, MB. And I like the Astra as base, but that's stretching Delta across one to many brands, no? And BTW, black rims are a bit early 90's.
  15. Isn't that what keeps it from being even MORE ho-hum than it already is? I don't like that new Honda Truck front end. It looks worse than the CRV's, and that's very bad indeed. In fact the only handsome front end they has had in awhile is that of the Accord concept, and I was hoping that would spread across the line-up. I think they should help Ford and Chevy stomp out Toyota instead of pumping out this minivan based pretender.
  16. Wow. Are those the 18" wheels in those color sample pics? Makes me notice how diminuitive this Astra is. It seems a lot larger in pictures, when you aren't considering the wheel size. Also, Americans might be put off by its styling. It looks a bit more awkward than the Cobalt and even the ION, but not as awkward as the G5. Anyway.... I'll take an '09 Red Line in Salsa Red with leather seats, and the 260hp unit from the Sky RL.
  17. So were the all the Sevilles, and all the El Dorados, and all those great early Cadillac as far back as 1902. Only two MAJOR failures, Cimmaron and Catera, even the Allante had a good aura about it. I'm just sayin, I'd pay the premium for a CADILLAC, a car that could beat the world, maybe a Benz. Those are cars that have a century of excellence behind them. Not a gussied up Toyota, with only twenty years quality under their belts, ya know?
  18. Yeah, but the Tesla electric roadster can one up even that. And I agree about exclusivity, I always kinda thought the Corvette was for hardcore fans, lottery winners and people recieving large inheritances, and the XLR is for puushover business types who were frivilous with thier wallets enough to spend that much. And BIMMER325, no matter what bad connotations there are,and shortcomings it has, it's still a Cadillac. I always did think the V series should replace the base XLR, and they work thier way up from there, tho.
  19. Why buy a 5 liter V10 for the same amount of money as a 7 liter V8 that makes the same power in a Corvette ZO6, and have enough 30 grand to buy a Buick Lucerene CXS with a 4.6 liter V8 good for 275 horses? Why do people hate American cars?
  20. Hear, hear. And the fuel milage on both is horrendous. And living in an upscale town like Annapolis, Md, I see more Cayennes than Touaregs. And thats a shame. Remember the mystique and luck you had if you saw a Porsche? They need to cut out that 'mainstream' BS, and VW needs to cut out that 'luxo' BS. It's as if the world is topsy turvy.
  21. And Chrysler has only two RWD platforms in place? Jaguar needs ALL RWD cars, and there is nothing that Cerberus can give them on that front. If they can't give Chrysler another RWD platform, all I can say is HOLY DEVELOPMENT COSTS BATMAN!!! I suggest something modular like Audi's new platform. That way, there can be a lot of cars on an easily extended or shortened wheelbase, and it could be shared with all brands.
  22. Sans the 'cool' front and rear end treatments, these are still among the most anonymous vehicles on the road. Why does the beltline on the SportCombi seem so low? The SportCombi reminds me of the Opel Combo! It comes off looking like a kid with a big forehead, theres just so much glass-area. I prefer the sedan out of the three... this looks better than S60. But the convertile seems the same as in the previous gen, to me. The stuff under the chrome on the grille looks very 90's Saab. A dark memory. Even the thing they did do right stylistically speaking, the grille, reminds me of the Subaru Legacy and Outback's next gen.(Which I consider superior to these) GM needs to devote a bit more time to Saab, or put it out of its misery.
  23. Once again... what the hell is wrong wif the sorento? Am I the only person in America who thinks this is better than a Nitro? Silly... And it may be functional, but beauty has to mesh with fuction, and Legos...Legoes... Legii w/e.. are NOT beautiful OK Mr. Modera... oh never mind... If I cant st8 my opinion, whats the point of this site? I can look as bloody bad as i see fit, but it's my opinion and I'm not gonna bite my tounge/or fingers for daggone near anyone. sorry. And if you were reading, I at least re-thought my statement and made it a bit more... mainstream for people.
  24. Good one Zulehan! I was half hoping the Volt would come up in this comp. somehow! Good show everybody!
