  1. Neat. The buttons look terribly small, though, which is the major beef I have with most Nav. systems.
  2. IIRC, it is technically illegal for GM to sell vehicles at a loss. However, incentives might provide a loophole around this. If selling cars at a loss is what it takes for GM to deliever a desirable product, so be it.
  3. Not a chance this would work. Companies like Exxon and Mobil sell gas to just about any gas station brand you can think of. No matter where you buy your gas from... Shell, Sunoco, Esso, it's all the same gas from the same companies. To boycott Exxon and Mobil would mean having to boycott pretty much every gas station in the nation, and we all know how well that "Don't buy gas this Tuesday!" thing worked out. The only way that consumers can influence gas prices is by lowering demand by driving more fuel efficient vehicles, or by not driving at all. This isn't going to happen anytime soon, because (for now, at least) we haven't hit the tipping point that would cause consumers to buy more fuel efficient cars en-masse.
  4. I welcome these changes, but I think we can all agree that the G6 still has a long way to go. Would it be too much to ask for GM to get a car right from the start for once? All these engines and airbags and trim levels should've been available from the moment the G6 hit the showroom floor. My beef is with the lack of a "GT i4" trim package, which would be fully loaded G6 but with the four-cylinder powerplant, along the lines of the Accord EX and Camry SE four cylinders.
  5. This figure works out to an average of $2.17 Billion saved per year, or $54,250,000 per quarter. While that's certainly nothing to scoff at, it seems insignifigant when you consider that GM is losing 1 Billion or more every quarter. IMO, this is just a stopgap until such time as GM can force further concessions from the UAW.
  6. Hasn't come back for me, either.
  7. I think I'll leave that question to Wildcat. :AH-HA_wink:
  8. I'd agree with Lutz, if only I was certain that GM could make it to 2011.
  9. While I doubt that Pontiac and/or Buick are going away anytime soon, I can't blame the guy for being worried. Aside from the Enclave, there isn't anything coming to Buick in the near future (and I'm talking about stuff that can be confirmed, not rumours). And Pontiac doesn't seem to have anything lined up for the next couple years at all.
  10. Trouble is, the competitors haven't been asleep for the last decade, either. GM has just now started to get their act together, and they have a lot of catching up to do. The lack of a Manual transmission in the Aura certainly makes me scratch my head, BTW.
  11. The more I see of Suzuki, the more I start to think that GM dropped the ball on this company at the wrong time. The SX4 impresses me, although some of the parts (e.g: the HVAC controls) seem to be carried over from the Aerio.
  12. I like what they've done with it. They fixed the things that were wrong with the original (interior), and didn't mess around with what was great about the original (exterior). Nissan/Infiniti's ability to respond so effectively to criticism scores major points in my book. They're listening to what the critics and the consumers have to say, rather than telling them, "This is good enough, deal with it", as the domestics so often tend to do. Bravo!
  13. Not too sure this vehicle by itself is going to save the company, but it may buy them some time.
  14. Well, it certainly is unique. I like it, but I can see how Suzuki might turn off a few people with that front facia. And it looks absolutely huge from that side profile pic! The Equinox, Torrent Gr. Vitara are already large vehicles for their class, but this thing looks about as long as a fullsized SUV!
  15. Ugly it may be, but it will sell. Mark my words.
  16. Now that Hybrid cars are becoming more mainstream, it only makes sense for Toyota to use the Prius as a sort of testing bed to push the envelope even further. I, for one, would be delighted to have a car that returned 70 MPG, even if that meant it was falling short of it's EPA rating. I mean, even the Insight doesn't get 70 real-world MPG, which would make this new Prius the most fuel efficient car on the road. And, when you've got the most fuel efficient car on the road at a "mere" 70 MPG, I don't think it matters too much that it's falling short of the claimed mileage.
  17. Okay, I closed the browser and re-started it. They're gone now. BTW: For Firefox users, it won't work to just close the tab, you have to close the whole browser.
  18. Frankly, I'm surprised they got that much for it.
  19. At the top of my page right now, above the Cheers and Gears banner, the following is present: IPB WARNING [2] session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/sess_cccc98f1c07a2e6a7a1ecbe35cf8d68e, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) (Line: 429 of /index.php) IPB WARNING [2] session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/cheers/public_html/forums/index.php:722) (Line: 429 of /index.php) IPB WARNING [2] session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/cheers/public_html/forums/index.php:722) (Line: 429 of /index.php) ...So, what's up? Is traffic really high right now because of the new Saturns? Or is it a problem at my end? If so, what can I do to rectify it? UPDATE: Also, when I try to post anything, a white screen with the above text comes up, in addition to the following at the bottom of the other text: IPB WARNING [2] Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) (Line: 0 of Unknown)
  20. Out of all the new Saturns I've looked at today, this one is my favorite. It shows that GM can really be ahead of the game if they feel like it. Clever name, too.
  21. Wow... I wasn't expecting the nose to look so much like the Aztek! It's funny, you know... the more I look at how vehicle designs have evolved as of late, the more I think that the Aztek was less of an ugly duckling and more of a pioneer. Still hideously ugly, for sure, but that hideous theme seems to be inexplicably spreading. Anyways, aside from the front clip, I likes what I sees. The styling has a very modern, technological look to it, and so does the interior. I think other members are justified in saying it isn't the greatest interior ever, but I think it is at least class competitive, which is more than you can say for GM products of the past. A lot more. Besides, if you want a luxurious interior, you can step up to the Enclave!
  22. If only I could get the 6-Speed Manual from the CTS, I would be sooooooooo sold. *sigh*
  23. Definetely agree with that. I saw a black one barrelling down the 402 Freeway on my way home from work last week. Looks pretty nice in that colour; very stately, like a bigger version of the original Cherokee. Nevertheless, I still feel that its time had come and gone before it had even come to market.
