Its really exciting when people bootleg wire them into panels without disconnecting the panel from the main utility. Utility comes back on and...boom.

Both Ford and GM apparently donated to both project 2025 and the inaugeration. I am not saying I would never buy a Ford or Chevy, but that it would be a major factor in my next purchase. Also, as an American I don't like being told what to buy, and its Bipartisan as both Biden and Trump put in place big Tariffs to protect Tesla. Hyundai also makes some of the best looking (in my opinion) current cars. Not excited about Hyundai/Kia gasser/ICE tech, but their electric tech looks much better. Thinking. Right now waiting until things settle out before I buy another car.

Because they contributed financially to the political folks doing this stuff.

It will be like the VW TDI fiasco, cars sitting unsold for a year due to the stupidity of our government. This will make the US appear less stable, and people will be LESS likely to trust us or want to build plants here. Honestly, all of this makes me want to own a BYD or Hyundai product....

Stellantis makes a lot of interesting fashionable giant paper weights for your driveway. Building actual reliable vehicles might help them. Also, not pricing everything in the stratosphere.

I think Forester production was supposed to move here...before the trade war. Not sure though. BYD makes great products, I don't think they would face a lot of resistance.

Subaru will be building a ton of stuff apparently for the Canadian and Mexican markets in Japan that was formerly built in the USA. It will only get worse. BYD builds buses, SUV's and all sorts of other stuff. They are killing it in every market outside of the USA. If they were alowed to sell inside the USA Tesla would go bankrupt. Quickly. BYD is also the biggest selling electric in Brazil, a huge market.

I don't look at number built as the ultimate metric, how interesting of a car are you building. Some one of one MOPAR muscle cars are fantastic, Toyota built nine billion nine hundred ninety nine trillion Corollas and they are universally boring cars. Cadillac is building interesting Iron.

They do look substantially better, yes, I will agree with that.

Agree, but I think the timetable of that downfall will be highly variable. BYD is probably the biggest competition.

So I have to disclose the back ally sexual encounter with a Toyota employee that was the issue behind all of my anti Ford posts here? Shocking that we actually have enforced ethics agreements, the rest of the country seems adept at ignoring them. They may not go bankrupt right away, they do things like Energy Storage and the like that generates cash. And there is a federal pipeline of cash into Tesla.

Interesting, like this take... As far as Tesla goes, Thunderfoot has great YouTube videos. I have posted this one before, but he has a ton. All of the Musk/Tesla ethics issues are wayyy out in the open, you pretty much have to be willingly blind to ignore them. I may have posted this a long time ago, but it really shows how some folks go way out of their way to avoid reality. This is a response to the reality denying Musk/Tesla fanbois. I consider CCAP 41 to be very rational and this is not a direct response to him.

I like the Toyota and Lexus just fine.

They are huge down there. I find great appeal in these but they are from a bygone era. No one will spend 60K to restore a 4 door land yacht like that blue Buick when it would bring ten grand tops resale. Which is why demo derbies are still full of cars like that. Only modern vehicles with much appeal to me are midsized pickups and things that can get me to a hiking trail reliably, like a Subaru Outback/Crosstrek or something. It is only going to get worse. Yep, to be replaced by BYD and other folks.
