  1. Warren Buffer I believe owns a good bit of stock in BYD....interesting. Going to try to verify this.
  2. Exactly why the myth of totally free markets is just that, a myth.
  3. Nor would BYD. The Chinese government has dumped a metric crap ton of cash into auto development.
  4. Nothing but heavy, heavy freight movements with steam power. Bit by bit detail of BYD teardown...
  5. Tesla would be so gonzo if markets were free. This lumber yard is in central PA, I think a Ranger road trip is in order.
  6. Its really exciting when people bootleg wire them into panels without disconnecting the panel from the main utility. Utility comes back on and...boom.
  7. Both Ford and GM apparently donated to both project 2025 and the inaugeration. I am not saying I would never buy a Ford or Chevy, but that it would be a major factor in my next purchase. Also, as an American I don't like being told what to buy, and its Bipartisan as both Biden and Trump put in place big Tariffs to protect Tesla. Hyundai also makes some of the best looking (in my opinion) current cars. Not excited about Hyundai/Kia gasser/ICE tech, but their electric tech looks much better. Thinking. Right now waiting until things settle out before I buy another car.
  8. Because they contributed financially to the political folks doing this stuff.
  9. This will affect the auto industry to an enormous extent...
  10. Yep, game over for Tesla and others in the real world outside of US borders.
  11. ...and the pain of authoritarianism on actual human lives. Nothing going on now will end well for any of us... I so want to see Italy. Want to spend some time there, will be one of the first stops when I retire. Likewise... More bad weather coming... I own almost everything I need, and buy tools I want used, usually. Folks can suffer for the idiotic election. Maybe I need to heed your advice.
  12. It will be like the VW TDI fiasco, cars sitting unsold for a year due to the stupidity of our government. This will make the US appear less stable, and people will be LESS likely to trust us or want to build plants here. Honestly, all of this makes me want to own a BYD or Hyundai product....
  13. Interesitng post WW 2 footage of Germany, non censored. Houston strikes me as one of the last places I would want to live in the USA.
  14. Stellantis makes a lot of interesting fashionable giant paper weights for your driveway. Building actual reliable vehicles might help them. Also, not pricing everything in the stratosphere.
  15. I think Forester production was supposed to move here...before the trade war. Not sure though. BYD makes great products, I don't think they would face a lot of resistance.
  16. Subaru will be building a ton of stuff apparently for the Canadian and Mexican markets in Japan that was formerly built in the USA. It will only get worse. BYD builds buses, SUV's and all sorts of other stuff. They are killing it in every market outside of the USA. If they were alowed to sell inside the USA Tesla would go bankrupt. Quickly. BYD is also the biggest selling electric in Brazil, a huge market.
  17. I don't look at number built as the ultimate metric, how interesting of a car are you building. Some one of one MOPAR muscle cars are fantastic, Toyota built nine billion nine hundred ninety nine trillion Corollas and they are universally boring cars. Cadillac is building interesting Iron.
  18. They do look substantially better, yes, I will agree with that.
  19. Political but non polemic and explaining how the transition to clean electric is going, which impacts electric automobiles.
  20. Why I always run really expensive gas in my chainsaws.
  21. Agree, but I think the timetable of that downfall will be highly variable. BYD is probably the biggest competition.
  22. Interesting and thoughtful on streets and fire departments...
  23. A much shorter Musk/Tesla video, gives you some flavor of the longer video.
