  1. It makes no sense to me that they would kill off the Grand Prix GT, and not the GXP. Grand Prix GT would still have a place in the 2008 model year, a supercharged V6 provides a nice amount of power without V8 mileage. But the GXP? Who the heck is going to want a FWD 303hp V8 sedan when the G8 GT is expected to roll in mid-year with a RWD 362hp V8? Not to mention a 6-speed automatic or manual option as opposed to being stuck with an ancient 4-speed. G6 GXP and Torrent GXP are also jokes. What Pontiac is calling "high performance", I think is at best above average. With my GTP making 252hp, there was no reason the "high performance" GXP couldn't do better.
  2. The W-Body to me will always represent the moment GM decided to take their nicest powerful cars (Impala, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix) and totally wussify them. Between that and the vast superiority of Zeta, good riddance W's!
  3. I guess I must be the only person who's never had a problem with the panoramic roof. I love it! Shame that GTP is going away, the GXP is one of the most awful things I've seen out of Pontiac for years. Oh well, at least I managed to grab the 3.6L/6-speed in the one year that it wasn't in a horrendously ugly package.
  4. Would make an incredible Buick flagship, I don't understand why GM insists on slowly killing themselves in their home market.
  5. If the lower front grille on that GXP was a separate piece, I'd be looking into ordering it for my 07 GTP (better car, IMO, same power without horribly ugly grilles). As it is, the front grilles have ruined it for me.
  6. Surprised the 3.5L is even offered as a cop package, considering how awfully slow it is. Mid-8s in the 0-60, yea that's gonna scare anyone.
  7. You complain about GM pushing RWD in one breath, and then complain that Honda needs an Acura RWD performance car...uh...later in the same breath.
  8. I can see it happening, but it will probably wait until production has shifted to North America. GM is not going to want to take high-volume orders from police departments nationwide while they are still expensively container-shipping the G8 stateside.
  9. Silly to kill the GT, really. If anything, they should ditch the GXP for 2008. If anyone wants a V8 sedan, there's no reason to buy a GP GXP when the more powerful, rear-drive G8 GT is right next to it in the showroom. The 3800 and 3800S/C should be what stays.
  10. 2011?? I'd worry about being in business by then, not whether or not my interiors were nice..
  11. I love pretty much every inch of it, except the spoiler concerns me a bit. I'm just curious as to whether or not it'll get a proper American LS2.
  12. Need to see that at another angle, the rear lip looks like it crosses over the tail light a little. I hope to god they didn't make it a whaletail.
  13. I disagree. The rear is 99% the same, but that looks much more like some kind of lip spoiler to me on the G8 GT. That doesn't look like the C-SS's wing at all.
  14. The current 4th generation L98, from what I understand, is simply an LS2 tuned to abide by Australian legislation, putting out 362bhp and 391lb-ft. I would not be surprised to see the G8 house the 400hp/400lb-ft American LS2 instead.
  15. I desperately hope the G8 makes its way onto the '08 scehdule.
  16. Oh my god, I am in love with this car. I think I may be trading up this year!!
