    Yup, but the tri-shields are an evolution of the earlier, single shield, as seen in balthy's post above. The cross, the elk, and the checkered banner all appear to be elements of a family coat-of-arms, and the 1942 version is clearly so.

    The automakers have not introduced any economy specials during this interminable economic slowdown. I remember the Mopar "America" stripper specials, used to see a lot of those on the road. Come to think of it, they do have a special Caravan out now for a low, low price that has a variation of the America name, but I forget exactly what it's called. I think I posted a thread about it a few munts ago. Maybe we need more poorboy specials. I see no reason to be optimistic about the economy.

    I wonder if the base LS will have body-color steelies with dogdish hubcaps, a single outside mirror, no exterior chrome except for nameplates, and a vinyl bench interior with AM radio?

    No way do I advocate doing away with the tri-shields... just a return to color, which they never should have gone away from, imo.

    New orange Dart, first personally owned Dart I think I've seen so far.

    Setting out for a hike in the park, I ran across a navy blue 1938 Pontiac 6 sedan in really good shape in the parking lot. Young hipster family driving it, the one little kid said "don't take our car!" Oh and some sort of new Ferrari, red, ho hum.

    How is that thing stable? And they claim to have a 1963 factory photo... but there are two early 70's GM B-bodies in the photo, a Buick and a Chevy.
