    An Icy Stare

Sunday, a '79 Coupe DeVille in red with white landau top and white interior, absolutely immaculate, turning into the Barnes & Noble parking lot. It was just like Sixty8's Big Red.

  6. I have given my opinion on the topic in the title. I provided the link to see if anyone gives a God damn about what this thread has regressed into.
  7. Last week a salvage company came in to pick up a '95 Continental that was totalled, and he had a circa '97 Accord on the truck, burned out just like the Neon pictured.

  9. This is not the place for these kind of arguments.
  10. A cousin of mine had a Lebaron convertible ('89 I think, same style as Satty's ad car but with hidden headlights that failed a few times) as her first car. During the time she had it, she lost I think 4 transmissions, the top motor went out a few times, etc., etc.... it was the biggest POS of any car ever in our family... except maybe for the '73 Vega oil burning machine passed from my aunt to my mom before virtually disappearing in an iron oxide mist. After the Lebaron, she got a silver blue 240SX hatch, and that thing ran, with a minimum of care, up to 200k miles after being passed on to her mom, who used it as an errand car.

  12. Yes, California is a problem for so many other reasons, but aside from that... we need ONE standard for all 50 states. If it is to be a carbon copy of CARB, or something new, we should have but one standard. It only makes sense.
  13. We have a winter storm watch in effect over the next few days here... perhaps as much as 8 inches, but then it is supposed to rebound into the upper 30's late in the week. They've been wrong so often this winter, the warnings are starting to fall on deaf ears.
  14. Well Croc, it is about forum organization. Routinely here and at other well-run forums, threads are locked and comments redirected to the first thread posted on a given topic in an effort to keep the forum organized. But I am not bitching about that here in this thread, as it is irrelevant. I am bitching about what this thread has become, a big, top-heavy off-topic mess. Back on topic: we need ONE fair federal standard. If California is to rule for the entire country on this weighty issue (which I find ridiculous that one state hold so much power), then the CARB standard should be a 50-state standard. It makes no sense otherwise.
  15. Croc, you think this thread is anywhere near the original topic? You think it is good for the site to have these kind of off-topic arguments in an open area of the site, where visitors can view them? This sets a new precedent for C&G and I feel it is destructive to have arguments like this out of the Lounge. This is not even an automotive thread any more.
  16. The proper thing to have done many pages ago was lock this thread. It has long since veered far off topic. And what's worse, this is in a section were visitors can view it, not like a Lounge thread where members only can view and participate.

  19. Yup, and don't be scared, straight boys. They have girls on there, too. If you really want to see that.
  20. Oh man it took me a few minutes to see it.
