Bull sharks are one of the lesser known sharks, but are by far the most dangerous. I live less than 30 miles from where the woman was attacked, and two days before the woman was attacked, I was on a small boat in the same area. Another problem is that bull sharks can survive in fresh water and regularly travel up rivers from the ocean. We occasionally have attacks on swimmers and animals in the river in locations that are more than 60 miles upstream from the river mouth.

VW is being forced to change the minivan's historic rear-mounted engine because of a new Brazilian emissions law to reduce pollution that goes into effect in 2006. Production {of the van] will continue next year, but the van known here as the "Kombi" will get a new water-cooled motor and a radiator for the first time. The switch marks the last hurrah for the simple engine developed in the 1930s by famed German engineer Ferdinand Porsche, his key element of a "Volkswagen," or "People's Car" that anyone could afford. As far as my Canadian girlfriend is concerned, she feels more at home in Australia than she does in the USA. Similarly, I notice the difference when I cross the USA/Canada border, and I feel far more comfortable in Canada than I do in the USA. It's a strange thing, and nothing I can explain, but I can certainly sense that there is a difference. As it has often been said, "Canadians are just like people from the USA except that Canadians have mastered the art of saying 'please', 'thank you', and 'pardon me'."

Looking at the photo, my best guess is that the truck on top (sure does look like a Sierra with those 6 bolt wheeks) was originally parked next to the F-100 before the Z06 attempted to drive under it.

I was passed the photo without any other details ... but my source is attempting to get the background story.

In most parts of the world, Kombi is the generic term for a VW Bus, but a number of European auto manufacturers use the Kombi designation on their station wagon models. Generally the term refers to something that can be used for a number of uses. In the airline industry, it refers to a mixed freight/passenger aircraft.

30 years ago, I owned a real Mini Cooper ... ... but I suppose you want to know about those front-wheel drive BMWs that they they try to pretend are Minis.

Since nobody seemed to come up with the answers ... This snowmobile began it's early life as an ordinary 1918 Chevrolet 490 Touring and was converted by the North East Hope Telephone Company in the early 1930's to service their lines during winter months. A second axle was added and the tracks were created out of old tires and chain. The front skis were made by cutting a set of wooden front wheels in half and securing runners underneath. The vehicle used to reside at the Minnie Thompson Museum of Stratford, Ontario, but it was auctioned off and is now on display at the Oshawa Car Museum. There are more pictures here, here, and here.

Did you find any parts for the '60 Corvair that have part numbers that begin with the sequence 625 ...

Do you see any differences between the part numbers for the early Corvairs when compared to the later Corvairs? Look at the leading digits ...

and coincidentally, there's was a photo of a Chevrolet 490 posted in the Trivia section within the past week ...

... as long as they've been properly maintained ... otherwise you get that ... oh wait, you guys don't want to hear about that ...

It's pretty common for an engine that started out on the drawing board as a pushrod OHV engine and was subsequently re-engineered into a SOHC/DOHC engine to have a vestigial camshaft that is only used for driving the oil pump and/or distributor. For this trivia question, the GM 3.4L DOHC V6 would most likely be the engine that you are thinking about, but it's not the only DOHC V type engine with a vestigial camshaft.

... and although some stories indicate that William Durant found the emblem in 1914 on some wallpaper in a Paris hotel room ... .... others say he actually tore off a piece of the wallpaper with the design from the Paris hotel room in 1908, and kept it in his wallet until he found a suitable use for the logo ... ... and it was first used in 1913 on the Chevrolet Royal Mail and Baby Grand models ...

The base vehicle is a GM product, but the conversion was done by some people at a telephone company. The vehicle in question is currently in an auto museum. Stock GM seats for the era.
