  1. Yeah, I think I'd have to do that on day #1.
  2. I think it was an issue of stress on the frame due to the long wheelbase. As I recall, the plow installers were refusing to install on these trucks. GM wouldn't build them with the plow-prep package. I'd have to look into it again to be sure.
  3. It is tempting because it is a sharp-looking little truck and already has a plow. But, I'd be itching to get out of it from day one. I'd feel hamstrung in any compact pickup.
  4. Few and far between since '78. Even trucks/suvs have had staggered intros.
  5. Sounds like someone set up a booby trap.
  6. I would go for this one, except that I seem to remember a major taboo from both GM and the plow manufacturers about installing a plow on crew cabs in these years. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ctd/1496896673.html
  7. Pre-Duramax diesels (even reliable ones) are just something I can't stomach. Until I drove a Duramax, I was a confirmed diesel hater.
  8. In general, I agree. Why not choose the middle ground and get an estimate before making a claim?
  9. Here's a minimalist option: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1475810640.html
  10. Fuel consumption is not an issue. I wanted this truck very badly: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Chevy-3500-Pickup-7-4-liter-Boss-Snow-Plow-2500_W0QQitemZ320452465087QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item4a9c7491bf
  11. Those DOD Blazers are so tempting because of the miles, but between the lousy 6.2 diesel and the camo, I just don't think I can go there. Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated.
  12. I almost put this one into the running, but I'd hate to be stuck with it when I find what I really need. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ctd/1497186934.html
  13. I've found a few possible "temp" vehicles, but most of them don't have plows yet.
  14. I'm going to look into it.
  15. ...scoop up a temporary plow vehicle. Can't find what I'm really looking for, but I have to get something to clear this driveway with VERY soon. I was really hoping for a "one and done" scenario, but that's not looking too likely.
  16. Seems I've been cursed with two of the worst banks to deal with.
  17. And I want to do things in the exact opposite way.
  18. Yeah, I think that is merger #6 since I've had the account.
  19. Wachovia.
  20. My bank account isn'r going anywhere, I've had the same account since I was a teenager. However, only a minimum amount will ever be parked there, no significant money I ever have from now on will be in their coffers. I will only use it for things that must be paid by check. I see no reason to allow them to use my money and limit my access to it with their limited hours, and BS policies. They've ticked me off more times than I can count, so at this point, I will simply use them instead of them using me.
  21. Completely isn't going to happen - but as much as possible is. I get what you are saying about gaming the system, but I'm sick of games.
  22. Conspiracy theories? No, just long-suffering experience. I did bank with a local bank, it just got merged six times. I'm simply taking back control.
  23. Right now, living a cash-based life is looking like the promised land to me. Just have to get beyond today.
  24. ...and the power went out about 25 minutes ago and sent my computer into a tailspin until just now. What a crazy f-ing time I'm going through. Anyway, about the Ford, I'm going to try to hold out for a GM truck but I may have to buy a short-termer just to be able to clear the driveway.
  25. That makes little sense. I have to be able to function, so I'll just be leaving the artificial world of checks and electronic finances behind. Sticking to physical money will do what I want to do.
