  1. Remember my green one? Same year. Loved that truck, but it was a SERIOUS gas hog with the 6.0 . As far as the 6.0 goes, some were pigs and some weren't. Mine had a 4.10 rear for towing, so that was part of it - check to see which rear this one has.
  2. Nice car. But the lower body stripe doesn't seem right for an IROC, something about it doesn't match the old memory of these cars.
  3. Here are some shots of the suspension on the red and white car going back together and some better shots of the mystery car. [
  4. Very cool!
  5. Well Ricer, thanks for all of that input. Much to digest there.
  6. But your gate is...
  7. Yeah, I'm having fun there. In fact I am going to go put in some time shortly. The snow will limit what I can do tomorrow.
  8. The Silverado is currently snowplow equipped...
  9. I don't know, maybe it's just the whole feel of early 60's "high society" attached to the car. And the tiki torches that light as it passes each one - seems a bit tacky.
  10. That ad strikes me funny.
  11. I have pics of a local Brewster somewhere - such an odd looking car. Draws a crowd instantly at shows.
  12. It does have all of the amenities.
  13. Looking forward to it.
  14. If we don't apply that critical perspective, we just might "perish from the earth" as a nation.
  15. Isssues to be addressed without doubt, but making any such assumptions doesn't necessarily follow. The idea of this is still forming for me, so such concerns are simply more data for me to work with at this point. For now, let's just say that we need to learn that sometimes the best course of action is to do this:
  16. I want a ride.
  17. The short answer is it can't and won't. It is a false, failed, premise.
  18. " a common, cunning, linguist" ?
  19. Thanks for the endorsement! And more importantly, the discussion. I want to think about this a bit more before I spout off again anyway.
  20. All of my life (and longer) our leaders have been claiming the US to be " the greatest nation on Earth". I think that it is high time that we work a bit harder at actually being what we claim and claiming it less or not at all. Most of the hatred directed at us stems from this hypocritical exclamation. It undermines us and offends the world, the irony of this is that if we quietly worked at supporting this assertion, we would gain genuine respect while futhering our own cause and that of the whole world through our interaction. I think it's time to put our own house in order.
  21. I'm seeing this idea as a counterpoint to blind globalism based on a least-common-denominator averaging of all things social and financial. Independence is key. A vibrant, imaginative, and inventive culture need not pander to this overbearing tyranny of multitudes.
  22. Exactly. But there is more to it than just that. So many aspects of our national status quo are not sustainable, and I believe that our priorties must shift to address that fact.
  23. Oh boy, I had better leave it right there...
  24. Again, in tune with the direction I'm heading with this.
