  1. Wish they had done a better job on the CTS coupe - might have helped overall sales.
  2. That last one...
  3. The 2WD makes the price too high, even before you get to the lack of options. Still, these are interesting in base trim.
  4. And, in light of that, back to the '59 in question. It looks quite solid to me - just surface rust rather than rot. And it looks very complete. Ocn: Do you have a link to the listing? What is the price?
  5. Ummm, "Conquista" was a very common trim package, not a special edition of any kind. That's what you were thinking of?
  6. That was the GMC Caballero "Diablo"
  7. If it were true, I probably would have found it long ago.
  8. I'm calling BS on the "Conquistador" nameplate. No real evidence exists on the web. I've seen this before, and it always turns out to be some fool's mis-reading of the "Conquista" trim level on 5th gen Caminos.
  9. Where did you find this?
  10. 20s through the 40s: Cadillac (all that custom coachwork, V12, and V16 enigines) 50s: Chevrolet (Nomad) 60s Tie Chevy and Pontiac (too many to list) Honorable mention to Buick for the Riviera 70s Tie Chevy and Pontiac (too many to list) Honorable mention to Olds for the Cutlass/442, and to Buick for the Boattail Riviera 80s Very narrow win for Buick (Grand National, T-type, and GNX) Chevy, Olds and Pontiac all had designs almost as well realized in certain models. 90s GMC Truck ( Yukon GT) 2000s Pontiac (Solstice, GTO, G8) 10s Chevy (Corvette, Camaro, Avalanche)
  11. More info. here: http://encycl.opentopia.com/term/Studebaker_Avanti
  12. I knew I wasn't crazy:
  13. Thanks, I'll post a pic with the plow rig after the holiday.
  14. Very!
  15. Simply no contest, Tastykake exposes Hostess for the plastic that it is.
  16. It certainly ended well.
  17. Plow is installed and looks great - won't be wired up until the 26th, but I'm almost there. They did a nice job, painted the bare spots on the plow frame, and even washed the Tahoe! Best of all, it looks like the tailgate repair won't be quite as much as I feared. They even charged me less than quoted on the install. Not too shabby.
  18. Oh, that name is familiar...
  19. Thanks Ocn, I hope so too.
  20. If you like.
  21. Both of them bit me today. Green got my right hand, and Red got my left. Choosing between Tahoes is a bloody business!
  22. Some little synapse action in my memory says that this was the 1963 Avanti. As for the driver/wife, I have no idea.
